Collecting user insight

We just wrapped up a great round of usability testing here. Over the past few weeks we brought in over a dozen iReporters, both novices and superstars from a range of demographics, to our fantastic in-house usability lab. We observed while they browsed the site, looked for iReports and iReporters, uploaded stories, and we paid special attention to how they navigated the site and took note of all the feedback they had for us. It was a lot of fun.

The purpose of user testing is to surface any problems that our users (that’s you!) may have related to using so that we can address them and continue to make your experience here a great one.

We look forward to sharing the results of the usability testing with you – and more importantly, what actions we’re going to take based on your great feedback – very soon. As always, if you have any suggestions, leave us a comment here, or click on that small animating "Feedback" link you see next to the logo to tell us what you think.

OK. One thing that seems to happen with some frequency is accidental double post (maybe it's me).

Every once in awhile I'll notice my post somehow get hungup. Sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for an hour, and sometimes it simply stays in a state of suspended animation for all enternity. I'm never sure what it's going to do.

Will it eventually post.., or not? The reason I have to ask myself this is I truly don't like to make double post and I know I will have to wait for a couple of hours to have a good probability it won't post twice.

Now, I'm not sure how it's handled internally, but many of those stories that I've accidentally posted twice simply have no way to be removed by the user. The crew at iReport use to have me write an email to have one of the double post removed. Somewhat labor intensive it seems and tends to have some accuracy problems from time to time. i.e. wrong story removed because of delay in email response time.

I understand there could be reasons not to let the authors remove postings, I couldn't guess why however. Either way, it would be my suggestion that some more effective way of removing unwanted post were made available. Perhaps the user could flag it with a check box that notifies someone of the iReport staff that would take care of them. Or, maybe have a radio button and confirmation pop-up that would let the user remove it themselves if you don't mind the user doing that.

You wouldn't need to delete the information or post from your data base, just the fact it's marked not to appear anymore on the live site.

Just a thought.

I don't know much about financial matter, but it appears neither do our Experts. Forget the bail out. I think they should let the chips fall where they may with all these corporations.  That 700 billion should be pumped into the banks and finance companies that did not participate in the sub-prime mortgages.  Lets reward them, not the greedy rich cats on Wall Street.  Then the good guys can climb to the top to the fortune 500 list. With that 700 billion, they should be able to spread a lot of credit around to spring board the economy.  So why pump all this money into These failed companies?  I'll tell you why.  To save the rich who are losing the most money, like our senators, the movie stars and such.  Yes, there are 401k at risk, but that's the breaks, win some, loose some.  I say start fresh with the insurance, bank and corporations that did the responsible thing.  Lets make them rich, not these jokers.  Personally, I think we can survive a ripple effect from AIG closing down, better than we can a billion or trillion dollar deficit. Question: So, what's the real urgency?  Answer:  The rich getting their money back? Average people need to start listening and thinking.  Don't let the more in thieves hoodwink you so quickly. And if I'm wrong, were they.

I must tell you to take off your donkey and elephant hats before approaching this issue. Sadly to many democrats, this problem can be traced back to Clinton's administration with his Community Reinvestment Act of 1995, and sadly for republicans, it can be claimed that this administration continued disastrous policies for many years. This is not an issue of partisan politics, but rather an issue of monetary policies that we've followed since 1913. Human greed and manipulation is not a matter of politics, and therefore can not be addressed with replacement of the president every four years. This "American Idol" of politics (read presidential race) will change absolutely NOTHING in our country, since both candidates are playing for the same team, leaving us the bill at the end. My only hope is that after this trillion+ dollars tab that our future generations will be paying, many people will wake up, reject and revise the system (political and monetary), and finally do what it takes to hold politicians accountable for their actions.

George W. Bush Administration Proposed Changes of 2003

In 2003 , the Bush Administration recommended what the NY Times called "the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis *a decade ago." 5 This change was to move governmental supervision of two of the primary agents guaranteeing subprime loans, * Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac under a new agency created within the Department of the Treasury . However, it did not alter the implicit guarantee that Washington will bail the companies out if they run into financial difficulty; that perception enabled them to issue debt at significantly lower rates than their competitors. The changes were generally opposed along Party lines and eventually failed to happen. Representative Barney Frank (D-MA) claimed of the thrifts "These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis, the more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies,

President Bush is asking that he can be allowed to use taxpayers monies to bailout our economy; however, I think that's it's unfair that he uses taxpayers monies, and when it's time to vote in the up coming election in November 2008, the "Electoral College" is who truly decides on the out come of the election.  It's as though, ask to use my money, but you have no real decision on electing the president.  Some kind of Democracy, uh!

Ranked Stories:

I probably have mentioned this a few times from back in April, but the ranking system that iReport maintains is still just about worthless in my estimation.

This time around I hope I approach it a bit smarter to attempt to make an impression that might work.

So, I showed it to a few friends. All have been to the site before but really weren't familiar with any issues as they are not regualar users. After showing them the ranking system and pointing out what my problem was with it, I had 7 of 8 agree with me. Their bias for anything against me might be a factor too.

Anyways, when I explained that the system works good for those who are genuine with how they feel, but a complete failure for those who run things on emotions they too thought it didn't really serve a purpose.

I demonstrated how easy it was for me to just go through the list of those ranked uploads and give them a low ranking for absolutely no reason other than to do it.., a meaningless act that makes the entire endeavor of having a ranking system an exercise in futility.

From the conversations I've had with other users on this site, most agreed the system serves more or less not a single purpose with the main problem being, it's not transparent.

It's the impression of most that low rankings are attributed to the same people, by the same people over and over again. Who knows if that's true, actually only you would -- if your tracking that.

I've proposed something like this before and have never seen a single response by anyone at IR central, so I have no idea what to think after 6 months.

It would be something I am impliment on one of my sites very soon. On my Vacation site, we will allow people to rank vacation homes, resorts, B and B's and hotels, but knew that each entity's competition would try to rank them low -- something akin to here -- So, were placing an accountable system within the ajax coding we are using for that.

People can rank only if they are willing to be know publically how they ranked and who they were. -- we are even considering making it maditory to explain in a text box the users reasons for their rankings with a ten character minimum. In other words, when someone ranks one of the entity's, we have a function that allows all users to see who ranked the entity for what reason right on that property.

We also deploy what appears to be a far more advance algorithm that allocates credits in a much different way than yours when posting ranking impressions.

Every set of 10 rankings without any mark downs get an additional credit of 5 points in the talley. Why? Because we realized that those who attain let's say 27 rankings with only one that was below 5 star, it will still appear behind some small irrelevant place that achieved only one person giving them a 5 star ranking. We knew from the get go this wasn't accurate or right and was giving us bad data reflected to the public.

Now, with that 5 spot we give them, they can have 15 rankings -- one of which is a 4 and the rest 5's -- they will still appear over the place that get's 9 5 start rankings and nothing below that.

We knew, that the simple "amount" of times a place is ranked is an indication that many are paying attention and that needs credit.

As with yours, the public cannot vote unless registered. When we see abuse of rankings -- i.e. when someone logs on with seperate identities -- and place 4 bad rankings on some competitor -- then we remove that persons ability to rank any longer. Your configuration help us see that problem, so I owe you some thanks for that.

When we see one person consistantly going around ranking his competitors low for no apparent reason other than spite it seems, we remove their ability to rank altogether for 6 months. Once that person's IP has been marked, they cannot rank, no matter what they try. Unless of course they go to a differnt computer. We can't stop that.., at least not completely, but we're working on it and getting there.

Another difference as well is that we have paying customers, you don't. So, there could be some many priority differences I realize.

All the same, from my experience I know this is no small adjustment and likely not worth the time and money it could cost to make such an adjustment since your entire data base would then have several difference issues to contend with and be adjusted to.

Anyways, perhaps sometime in the future you will have the resources, time and ability to make such an adjustment if deemed worthy of the effort.

Accountablility and transparency would be the adjustment I would make in the ranking system of this site if it were mine.

Best Regards.

First of all John McCain did not do a single solitary thing that I saw, all he did was to walk down some long hallways at the Whitehouse, shake some hands. I saw and heard several men on cnn that came of the Whitehouse with something to say, but not Big talking John, never heard a word from him. He sat at that table with an occassional smile. He wants to look like the savior of this tangled mess so badly, I heard a man say this is not John's expertise if it were Iraq then OK he would have a legal right to be there.Obama was there because Bush asked him to come. Yes the debate should go on the American people need to see with there own eyes. I tell you what if John McCain has voted with Bush 90%of the time then it's almost hard to believe that he doesn't want to vote with him now. Out right lied to David Letterman. It's just like Obama said he has nothing left but lies, deceptions, and oh yeah, hellmaries.

The Americans in the private & government sectors are ‘married’ into this economic crisis together and this marriage should be legally considered a “community property” that splits the bailout costs 50/50 ($350B each) along with accountability and responsibility mechanisms put into place during negotiations…

Lets get down to reality, the person you pick for president is only a face you look at for the next four years; so pick the one you want.  This country needs to get out of this one-world government, money and religion mode and get back to our founder's.  Under god we will trust, ask this country to repent before it is all too late.  You see the destruction that is being caused;  do you not even ask the spiritual question, why?  Lets take care of the U.S..  Anyone don't like us loving Jesus and God, move back to your own country.

About the economics?  Why put more and more money into the morgage co., if people do noot have jobs.  Lets get people working in our own country.  My lord, look at our own cities that have to be rebuilt we must have people that can do something for money.

This country needs to drop the council of foreign affairs, and big wig politics.  We are the people and you work for us, or at least you are suppose to.

Take the 700 billion and loan it to any u.s. citizen who is about to foreclose and buy the house.  They will have to pay the government back with a fixed interest rate and a low interest rate.  Those who have lost a house already can qualify for the same loan but truly based on what they can afford.  To hell with the banks, those greedy people got us here in the first place. That will correct the market.

So, does this make sense, or am I crazy?

~ Okay, forget that question.

I received the following e-mail this morning from several friends regarding the current debacle commonly known as the proposed bail-out of Wall Street firms that choose to back the pyramid scheme commonly know as the mortgage loan industry.  A very astute man named T. J. Birkenmeier has a better idea–one that is so democratic (notice the lower-case “d”–I’m not talking partisan issues, dearies) and common sense that it has absolutely no chance of being taken seriously in Washington.

Hi Pals,

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000.  to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child.  So, 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

Divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion and that equals  $425,000.00  each.

My plan is to give $425,000. to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.

So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.

That sends $25,500,000,000.00 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it also means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in thei r pocket.

A husband and wife have $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage -- housing crisis solved!

Repay college loans -- what a great boost to new grads!

Put away money for college -- it'll be there!

Save in a bank!  Create money to loan to entrepreneurs!

Buy a new car!   Create jobs!

Invest in the market - capital drives growth!

Pay for your parent's medical insurance -- health care improves!

Enable Deadbeat Dads to finally come clean...or else!

Remember,  this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+,  including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that has or is cutting back.  And, of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it... instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+ !!!

As for AIG -- liquidate it.

Sell off its parts.

Let American General go back to being American General.

Sell off the real estate.

Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my simple rationale...  We deserve it and AIG doesn't.

Tell me again why it's a crazy idea that can "never work?"

Can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell True Economic Boom?!?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend  more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .

And remember, this plan (The Birk plan) only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh... I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

Kindest personal regards,

T. J . Birkenmeier, A Creative Guy & Citizen of the Republic

           Enjoy your year... Susan.

The housing bail out vs wall street

Part 11 The third part of the plan is for investors, builders and enterprising homeowners.  If they should buy a home which has a delinquent or foreclosed mortgage, they shall receive a 10% tax credit based on the amount of the purchase price or the foreclosed mortgage whichever is less.

Part 12  If you want the housing problems to end faster.  Say no new building permits in the U.S. until all the foreclosed properties are purchased.

You poor people at iReport have to deal with this rhetoric on a feedback page, feel sorry for you guy's.

Anyways, looking through these postings I realize I am the only one actally trying to give suggestions. Hope I'm not a bother.

And yep, I've got 1 more.

This too has been a haunting problem that never has seemed to go away or ever be fixed.

The volumn level of videos that are uploaded are always converted into that flash file where the audio partion of the conversions is set so low that I always have to turn the volumn on my computer all the way up to hear anything from anyone.

Then I'll go to some other site -- like CNN -- and my ears get blown out when I watch the next one, I forget about the volumn I set all the time, OUCH!

So, rather than readjust the volumn level every single time someone wants to watch a video on iReport -- only to have to remember to turn it down everytime as well -- why not set the conversion to convert to a level we can actually hear at.

Hope to see this one for real.

Regarding the bail out, it seems that all of the people in Washington are freighten to make a deciision and President Bush really cannot be trusted at all. Why is there not more presence of President Clinton, and President Carter, Senator Kenedy, and all those people who have been in critical decison making positions before and have the critical decision making process ability tried

and true ,assist in the so call critical situration that could really effect our main street economics.  I is just so unfair to continue even dealing with those who have proven to be liars and manipulators in making  money  for their own pockets.  The greed is unbelievable.  I am sure that all of those who are making these money deals personally have lots of money!  We cannot let this maoney situation to rape the american people. I would rather support a loan that comes from the outside not as appose to coming from our tax paying money.

It is interesting that a fellow, grumpy old man John McCain can turn a longtime republican like me into an advocate for change and Barack Obama.  Let's vote for real change and not the illusion that McCain is trying to sell to the independent voters.  We all know that when all is said and done, that McCain is not much different than the Bush republicans and that should spell danger to the American people.

I was watching the debate tonight and had equal 0pinions and once i watched the whole thing and then saw the news footage what is going on. Obama was so not ready point for us regular folk but for some reason the press is following obama. Obama called McCain Jim and said he would take out pakistanwhich took my breath away. He referenced the word Orgie and agreed with McCain so many times i lost count.

To me it was a no brainer but i now realize he does not have enough experience and i am so mad that when it comes to a countrys leader the press would take the risk to get the vote and the viewers. It was so obvious it was insulting to watch the news footage after. McCain should get the job and we dont need to put a kid in office.

janebond - you obviously are deluding yourself if you believe that age is a qualifying factor in experience.  Spoken like one of the narrow-minded Bush republicans who like to put fear in the hearts of Americans in order to get their votes.  That is what turned me off from the GOP and as I started to really listen to the candidates, I realized that I was aligned with the wrong party, the one unwilling to really address change, the one that does not have real ideas but attacks all "outsider's" ideas, and the one that has taken America down the road to financial ruin and made us lose the respect of the rest of the world.  Is that what we want?  Are we proud of that?  No.  So join me in starting America on the road to recovery by voting for real change - Barack Obama!

After watching the news and listening to some americans, it is really hard to believe that we are an educated country.  Mccain has so much to overcome.  The main thing he has to overcome is the media.  He is the best choice for president. Age should not play a factor. On Palin, they say she has no experience, she may not have a lot of experience but what does that matter?, Obama has even less than her and hes running for president.  Mccain made Obama look like a timid child tonight.  Obama waits for Mccains response on the immportant thoughts and mirrors them.  Mccsin talks about the bracelet he wears and of course Osama i mean Obama had to say the same and read it right off a card.  He has no opinions himself.  He is very ignorant and fact is he just sounded rediculous.  And I cannot believe he has any followers, well I know why he has one group of followers,  but everyone else are just morons.

bechill11 - Where do you get your information?  Obama has less experience than Palin?  The only place that feeds you that crap is the GOP party, of which I used to be a part.  Obama sounded knowledgeable on not only foreign policy tonight, but also economic policy, health care, and the plight of the average American.  I see where we have gone in the last eight years and it not to a better America.  We need to get back on a productive track and, unfortunately, the McCain ticket does not show any hard evidence of changing anything.

What exactly was so bad with Bush? Have we not been safe?  yes the economy has gone down the tubes but that isn't all his fault.  Clinton is the one who started this mess and left it to Bush.  Most of his time has been focused on keeping us safe.  And if we aren't safe, then there is no economy at all.  And to add to that point thank the dems, who control the senate.  So lets be real.  Mccain has stirred up Washington for many years and we ALL know that.  Obama has done what?  He has been a Senator for 4 years, 2 of which have been spent campaigning.  Nobody can possibly know where Obama stands because everytime there is an issue on the table, Obama doesn't show to vote or he doesnt vote yes or no 90 percent of the time.  And those are facts.  Obama talks about pork barrel spending...hilarious...he has received over 800,000,000 in his two years of Senate work.  Im just wondering when hes going to say he's going to put soda fountains in all the schools and coton candy machines.  He'll say anyting to get elected.  He's so scripted it's sickening

Typical for Republicans to blame the preceding administration for problems caused during their terms in power.  The economy was in great shape at the end of the Clinton era.  Made safe by Bush?  I doubt it.  This is the most crooked, self-centered administration in US history.  Americans are less safe any place they go in the world today.  They are safer at home only because of reactive changes to the 911 tragedy that were bipartisan in nature (never mind that Bush and the GOP claim it was single handedly them keeping us safe).  How many lives and billions of dollars must America lose (on both war and the economic issues that befall us) before some people see the light on what it is costing us?  I feel sorry for the people who cling to a political party and use their rose colored glasses (or blinders) to view the realities that are happening every day while their party is in power.

Thanks for a good post, PennMom.  If others who appear to be either uninformed, uneducated, or just don't listen very good would actually hear what Obama has to say, they would realize that what he is driving at is that our enemy in Bush's War on Terrorism is Al-Qaeda.  They are the ones responsible for 9/11 and they are headquartered not in Irag, not in Iran, not in North Korea, but in Afghanistan and yes, Pakistan.  Perhaps some people need to look at the issues in an objective way before attacking others for sharing their opinions.  We have lost over 4000 American lives over the wrong enemy.  When will people realize that the Iraqi people do not want us there and yet they have paid a huge price through their loss of lives (estimated at hundreds of thousands) while we continue military action in the wrong country against the  wrong people.

Well OK sure, I'll try to put my two brain cells together here and see if I can figure it out.

At the top of each page there is a BIG orange tag that says, "UPLOADNOW". You can find the page you'll need to upload stories there. There are other links as well. For specific stories, look at the left side of most pages -- maybe half way down teh page -- and you'll see a series of links with a title heading that say " Up for As Assignment"?. You can select any of these to write and post a story about the story line, upload a video, a series of videos, and pictures as well.

If you don't have a image -- photo or video -- then make one or copy one from the net somewhere that's not copywritten. A blank, white image if nothing else, works as well. Below the main entry area for images, text and Headline titles are a series of mostly self explainitory fields that you'll need to complete as well.  One of those entry fields are called tags -- for the new people. These tags serve to describe your story. This way, when people are searching for certain sotries, these tags make that organization possible.

These tags also serve what's called as "meta tags" list. These meta tags cannot be seen on the pages anywhere, but serve to tell search engines -- like yahoo and google -- what your story is about as well. Indeed, if tagged correctly, you can show up very high in the results part of many search engines, but you have to be really good to achieve that.

I'm don't know what else I can say other than this is more or less how it's done.

$700 billion dollars! $700 billion dollars that has to be borrowed from countries like the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and China. This borrowed money will buy assets to allow more people to borrow more money.  How does that make financial sense or any sense for that matter?  Though, if the financial gurus on “Wall Street” and “Main Street” think that this is the only way to save the economy from experiencing its worse financial collapse in United States history, then why solely focus the bailout on the companies that put the United States in this position in the first place?  Why not share the “bailout?”  Allow taxpayers to benefit directly, as well.  Why not allocate a smidgen of the $700 billion dollars to forgive student loans so that people in the job market can put money back into the system?  This will impact a significant percentage of taxpayers who are in a position to borrow more money and pay it off!  Isn’t this the goal of the bailout?  Again, why should the bailout solely focus on the people, companies, and industry that are responsible for the current economic failures? Have faith in the good sense of the people, the taxpayers, and support us; together we can work towards strengthening our society.

To OUR Politicians,

Does anyone else smell a rat here? I have not heard the word transparency is this latest announcement.

We have the wealthy bailing out the wealthy and using everyone else’s money to do it. To prove that we don't have the best government that money can buy  – JUST SAY NO. Let the scoundrels go broke, let the system collapse, we little unimportant folks will survive. I’ll bet the wealthy, Bushes top 1000 – his base, will run for the hills, abandoning this country in a heartbeat.

If you must do this bailout, now called a rescue (GIVE ME A BREAK); please slow roll this entire deal until after the election. This should take months to understand, explain and develop a correct plan. We need new leadership.

Has anyone ever explained just what we are on the brink of, or what will really happen? I have never heard a complete explanation; collapse won’t cut it for an answer.

How about putting these sleazy finance characters in jail for a very long time? How about a 8 year retro tax on ALL brokerage houses, investment banks, their employees and board members and the finacial stock earnings of 50%, no loop holes, just pay on received earnings.  Why; because do you think these characters just thought this plan up over night; this has been planned for months if not longer. We are being manipulated and duped. Give these people what they want and NOTHING will change except that you have made them richer. History shows that NO civilization has lasted very long where the concentration of wealth is as high as it is in this country.

What MUST BE done is to have immediate legislation that allows anyone to take their 401K money and move it to a CD or bank assured account and still be in the 401K plan. Most everyone knows that the 401K plan is just a cash flow vehicle for the financial community and was most likely created by their lobbiest for their industry. Let me be able to decide not to put my money in the market and put it in a bank of my choice and still have a 401K plan. DO IT NOW.

This bailout is a business deal that is only good for one group. All good deals should be WIN WIN. I only see one WIN in this blatantly scandalous maneuver. Democrats stand up and be what you can be; stand for the little guy if that is really what you ever stood for. Republicans stand up for your no government in business, if that is what you ever stood for in the first place.

Please tell us all the facts, and listen to the common man, and do NOT do this deal. WE THE little, unimportant, PEOPLE will survive, it may be tough but we will make it. Even if you give it all away, it is still going to be very tough sledding for us. When you think about it, what can you take from us that you have not already taken if this deal goes through? If you do this the wealthy will have it all anyway. They will buy our assets at 10 cents on the dollar when we lose them.

We, the people, will not just standby, give this money to the wealthy and there will be more than a business revolution there will be a government revolution. Throw the bums out won’t even come close.

After having served over 30 years in our military I am sorry to say that I wonder how close we are to the same time when Thomas Jefferson was calling: "The time for revolution is now." He wrote:

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established, should not be changed for light and transient causes; and, accordingly, all experience has shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce the people under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security."

"Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God."

Politicians, remember Jefferson's words when you vote.

senator obama is all about "change"?, more like changing his mind.  He is the biggest liar ever to run for president.  He is the biggest flip floper ever.  Once he says something and finds out he messed up, he "changes" his position and tries to make Americans feel stupid by trying to explain that that wasn't what he meant.  It really is scary how nieve his followers are.  I don't know if they are just ignorant or just really desprate for this country to turn around that they will do or believe anything. Obama said he would bring troops home in immediately in 2009, now he says he will bring them home gradually by 2012.Obama was against the 2nd ammendment, right to bear arms, now he is for it.Obama  oppose lawsuits against phone companies doing wire taps, now he is not. Obama said  jerusalum should not be divided. and now he says it shouldn't be up to him, it should be up for debate. Obama said he would meet with our enemies without preconditions, now he says he never meant that he meant at lower levels.? LOL And the funny thing is dems try to get him out of that one but one little problem.  He's running for president, so doesn't that mean at the presidential lever? LOL see your lies do eventually catch up to you

Hope this is the right sight for this or gets to it somehow.

I am talking about the Train Wreck and the coverage or lack thereof.

As a ex railroad employee I understand the rules of the road. I need to know how the freight train was on single track when a passenger train was on the way. I was lead to beleave through 9 years of service that the Passenger train always had right over a freight train. Therefore shouldn't the freight train have been waiting at the end of double track for the passenger train to pass before entering single track or passing the signal governing single track.

I know it is complicated to those that are unaware but to RR employees I think it is simple. No matter if the engineer of the passenger train was alert is a after the fact issue. Wasn't there a second person in the cab of the train with the engineer that could have watched the signal as he texted. Also Expecting the signal I can't beleave he missed seeing it being the cause. He was the regular engineer for that route and should have been expecting and watching for the signal.

Sorry too many facts don't add up and sound right. It seems to me that since he cannot repute the story being told no one is defending him.(The Engineer)

I have two opinion about what's really shaking the nation right now - Election and Economic crisis.

Economic crisis - I'm just again going to state the obvious about this topic, the bailout didn't get passed by the congress because of it's instability. We can't spend that big of a budget on something we're not sure of where we're taking us, it's just plain stupid. Secondly, if the government really believe that it's a big crisis in America now, why don't they ask money from those who are corrupt in the office, I'm pretty sure those people do exist. Why is that the government is asking middle class to spend this money. It would look a lot better if those corrupts "donates" this amount we need.

If you ask me whose fault this is, my answer would have to be, Bush's War, loan agencies/mortgages/car etc, and the media. The media had been spreading the fact that it was a GOOD time to purchase/open loan for properties etc, and that came from those whom we call "smart people". Cause and Effect. People act on that and we are now facing the outcome of that.

Election - I'm sorry but Mcain's side messed it up when they picked up Palin. And I'm sorry but during these times, it's not a good time to pick someone who's a former beauty queen, and has not enough experience when it comes to running this country of which I support and I respect and love so much. I would rather pick something different and a change; not a continuation of Bush's. America needs a new leadership.

I'm sorry for those who doesn't agree on this post as this are only my opinion. Please don't take it personal.

I agree Palin doesnt have a lot of experience but she is running for Vice President.  And the fact is she still has more experience the Obama.  Hes only been in the senate for 4 years, which 2 years have been spent campaigning.  And yes Alaska is a small state but it is still a lot bigger job than being a senator or a community organizer.  So I don't know why people keep saying that she's not experienced enough, they are either stupid or are just ignorant and don't want to admit that.  So why does that keep coming up as a problem?  She is running for Vice President and Obama is running for PRESIDENT and he has less experience.  I just don't understand it.

I'm still trying to figure this Ranking thing out to make it work with some relevance. I may have thought of something that might just work to keep the misuse of that option minimized.

Perhaps a 5 minute delay would work. If a person desires to place a ranking, then they must stay on the page for at least 5 minutes to do so. This could discourage people that simply go from one story to another to bring the ranking down, just because. It could also somewhat ensure that the persons navigating these postings actually read the article.

Hmmm? What do you think? Could it work?

Obama took the debate by far. McCain appears desperate; concerned he can't win the election fair and square perhaps? He's bias, he's disrepectful. Just because he has more experience doesn't make him the better fit. It's apparent he has no control when under pressure; resorting to negative slams and disrespect instead of sticking to what's important doesn't reflect a leadership I want to see run our country.

Are you really that ignorant and stupid? If hes more experienced shouldnt he be the president?? I would think so this country is in serious trouble if Barrack is elected.  We will be so unsafe that we wont have to worry about the economy. 150 million in one month he raised.  How bout instead of using it on negative bashing ads, why doesnt he donate his money.  He will not be elected im calling it now.  All these people he thinks are going to vote his way will not.  I hate to say it because i dont believe race should play apart, but im afraid most americans are not going to vote for him like they have in the polls.  Go Mccain. NO more demicrats, we cant afford it. theyve been in charge of the Senate, look what they did to our economy.  Mccain tried to stop freddy and fanny but Obama and party would not allow it because they were too busy lining their own pockets and getting home loans sub prime for themselves.

If you want to know what is best for our ecomonomy, look at a history book.  The three worst financal enents in our history were during republican administrations: Hoover "The great depression", Regan "S&L crisis" and Now Bush.  Those that do not know their history are bound to repeat it.

And each of those times the dems had a majority.  just like this crisis.  mccain warned and the dems just ignored it because they were taking hundreds of thousands of dollars and getting special loans for themselves.  If the Republicans ever did that, well we all know what would happen.  20 years in Rev. Wrights church and he never heard what Wright was preaching? LOL wow you guys really are something.  But you cant bring any of this up because there is a double standard in this country.  If it was brought up we'd be rascist.  I just pray to god that he prevails even tho the media has done everything to try and brain wash us.

General Ramey "Smoking Telegram" Photo Confirms Roswell UFO Crash

Hi Group,

The truth is finally out from an official military source. It just took modern computer enhancement to see what had been hidden in plain sight for over 50 years.

There is actual photographic proof that the 1947 Roswell UFO crash did happen.

There is a famous series of news photos of General Roger Ramey taken at a press conference showing him bending over debris from a weather balloon. The photos appeared in dozens of newspapers in 1947, and the general was quoted as saying the weather balloon is what really crashed, not a UFO. The 1947 photos were taken with an old Graflex press camera that used large photographic plates to capture the photo images.

A few years ago two teams of professional researchers got the original

photos and negatives from the Ft. Worth, Texas newspaper's archives. The

researchers used computer enhancement to zoom in on the telegram that Gen. Ramey was holding in his hand. I have those photos in my book, including the text of the telegram. The telegram contained detailed information about the "saucer debris" and the "victims" they had recovered. I have the zoomed in picture of the telegram in my book and all of the reconstructed text:

You can order the E-book version of the book and download it immediately onto

your computer and see the telegram text and photos. The paperback version takes a few days to get in the mail. However, I'm not here to tease you into buying my book so I'm including the photos and information here from Neil Morris, the key researcher, to get your attention. It is posted below. I mainly want you to know that my book reveals the agenda of an organized group consisting of three related "alien" species, including the ones recovered at Roswell, who are interacting with us. You will be surprised at the heredity of these "aliens." Their images have been reproduced in every ancient society. Those images too have been in plain sight to this very day but few people thought about there being any connection between them and periodic societal problems like war and plague. Did someone say "Bird Flu" or "Jihad?" The information in my book comes from a wide variety of sources and many types of evidence, the whole truth is also disclosed from current information and historical sources, all of which you can check out for yourselves.

From: Filer's Files

Filer’s Files #22

Skywatch Investigations George A. Filer, Maj. USAF, Ret.,

Director MUFON Eastern

Vice President of Skywatch International

On 23 September 1947, General Nathan Twining wrote this now famous memo:

Air Material Commands Opinion Concerning "Flying Discs"

TO: Commanding General

Army Air Forces

Washington 25, D.C.

1. As requested by AC/AS-2 (General George Schulgen) there is presented below the considered opinion of this command concerning the so-called "Flying Discs." This opinion is based on interrogation report data furnished by AC/AS-2 and preliminary studied by personnel of T-2 and Aircraft Laboratory, Engineering Division T-3. This opinion was arrived at in a conference between personnel from the Air Institute of Technology, Intelligence T-2, Office, Chief of Engineering Division, and the Aircraft, Power Plant and Propeller Laboratories of Engineering Division T-3.

2. It is the opinion that:

a. The phenomenon reported is something real and not visionary or fictitious.

b. There are objects probably approximately the shape of a disc, of such appreciable size as to appear to be as large as man-made aircraft.

c. There is the possibility that some of the incidents may be caused by natural phenomena, such as meteors.

d. The reported operating characteristics such as extreme rates of climb, maneuverability (particularly in roll), and action which must be considered evasive when sighted or contacted by friendly aircraft and radar, lend belief to the possibility that some of the objects are controlled either manually, automatically or remotely.

e. The apparent common description of the objects is as follows:

(1) Metallic or light reflecting surface.

(2) Absence of trail, except in a few instances when the object apparently was operating under high performance conditions.

(3) Circular or elliptical in shape, flat on bottom and domed on top.

(4) Several reports of well kept formation flights varying from three to nine objects.

(5) Normally no associated sound, except in three instances a substantial rumbling roar was noted.

(6) Level flight speeds normally about 300 knots are estimated.

Editor's Note: While I was giving a speech at the Roswell Museum a young man introduced himself and told me his father had flown alien bodies and debris of the Roswell disc to Wright Field in 1947. He was the copilot on Captain Pappy Oliver Henderson's C-54 crew and was convinced this debris was not of this world.

Maj. George Filer USAF, Ret.

What's the point of knowing the truth now? There may be a point in time real soon when conflicting information will be released and people who can make a difference such as yourselves may need to be able to act quickly.

All of the above is just to get your attention, and to inform you there is extremely credible information that you have a "need to know." I am not going to give a "Braveheart" speech here to motivate anyone to go to war. You all just need to know the whole truth because if the shit hits the fan, you can help keep order by telling the truth to people you know. Listenup. This is only a sitrep that will inform you of the way things are so that you can make rational decisions on what you may need to do. I'm not here to tell you what to do either. You can figure it out for yourself. All I'm saying is that something bad is going to happen that could be horribly different from what we have experienced in the past and we need to know what's what right now to be ready. There will be no time to "wait and see" or "wait for instructions" because events will happen too fast and there could be news blackouts to prevent panic. All this is an old problem that needs to be fixed. I am not asking any of you to help fix it because you can't. You can help keep things from getting worse though. The bottom line is to save lives.

Here is the info on the Gen. Ramey telegram:

On July 7, 1947, Colonel Blanchard, Commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Roswell announced the Army had recovered a flying saucer and it was being sent to Fort Worth, Texas. On July 8, 1947, some debris from the alleged saucer was flown from Roswell to Fort Worth aboard an aircraft and met by Col. Thomas DuBose. He carried the debris to 8th Air Force Commander, General Roger Ramey's office.

J. Bond Johnson a photographer for the Fort Worth Star Telegram was sent to General Ramey's office to photograph the debris. When J. Bond Johnson entered the General's office he was met by Col. DuBose who suggested that he unwrap the debris, while DuBose looked for the General. Bond spread the debris out on the floor to set up his photo session. Later the General arrived holding a message. Photographs were taken of General Ramey, Col. DuBose and Intelligence Officer Major Marcel with the debris. These photographs are virtually the only public evidence that remains of the debris. They were used throughout the Air Force's reports and explanations as proof that the debris was a Mogul balloon and a kite like RAWIN radar reflector. One glimpse at the photographs has convinced many the debris was paper covered with thin metallic sheets of foil and a few sticks of balsa wood that was a RAWIN reflector. RPIT Director and now retired Colonel J. Bond Johnson writes: "Almost fifty years later the international Roswell Photo Interpretation Team (RPIT) has undertaken to evaluate these photographs." Neil Morris, senior photo interpretation specialist and a veteran technical staff member of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester in England, is an original member of the RPIT group. Morris and the RPIT group for more than a year have carefully compared every part described in detailed blueprints of the MOGUL and RAWIN devices with Roswell debris pieces displayed and photographed. The RPIT members have been unable to associate any of the pieces examined through the use of modern computer enhancement techniques with any parts expected to be found in a MOGUL/RAWIN crash. Morris and with others have made some amazing discoveries. They have determined that key parts of the debris contains hieroglyphic like writing. What originally was reported to be thin, paperbacked foil and solid wooden sticks -- such as might be found in a MOGUL/RAWIN train -- actually appears to be thick, massive sheeting attached to carefully formed and drilled hollow beams. The beams are covered with very unusual glyphs, which are undergoing further examination. Neil Morris states "I realize some people have concluded that the RPIT project is nothing more than a wild goose chase reading symbols into "smudge" marks etc. But I hope you will take the time to go to the RPIT web sites to see some of the new discoveries." Some of the debris looks like a saw cut through thick aluminum. This does not look like any part of a Mogul Balloon train. It looks like a saw cut or fracture in the metal. I live in the northwest of Britain in the area that gave rise to the "Industrial Revolution," the builders of the 18/19th century where "cast iron" was often used. It has a grainy, crystalline structure, when subjected to high impact as from a demolition hammer it gives just this brittle type of fractured edge. I'm not for one-second saying this is cast iron, I'm just suggesting whatever it is might have similar properties of structure, e.g., tough, crystalline almost ceramic like, but when pushed beyond it's limits brittle, like smashed pottery. Some of these type of fractures can also be observed on the broken ends of some of the "sticks." I also wonder if this thick material is all solid, if you check the thickness around some of the edges you can see that it varies, thinning out in areas which seem to have sustained additional damage. Shadows cast onto the edges also seem to hint that the surfaces of the edges are not all flat, but sometimes slightly "hollowed out" as though an inner "softer" core material might have been eroded by whatever process generated the initial fracture damage. I'm left with the conclusion that this is a large piece of 1/2 inch thick material which is totally at odds with the "usual" explanations for the debris. Morris states, "I'm not saying it's ET at this point, but as sure as hell it's not part of a Mogul balloon train!" But when numerous details within these images fail to match the official blueprints of the ML307a, radar reflector nominated by the USAF as being identified as the cause of the wreckage within these images, I start to smell a rat. I have footage of the MOGUL launches showing the train configuration, I have details of the equipment packages and instruments they carried, I see none of this in the images, I therefore conclude, in my opinion, this is not MOGUL debris.

Thanks to: Neil Morris and RPIT Project Director James Bond Johnson

Editor's Note: At first glance I'll admit the debris looks like a RAWIN radar reflector. However, the new findings of the fracture damage to thick metal infers a strong impact with the ground. Several military witnesses describe a large and long crash site that matches this finding. Again the damage to the debris indicates something crashed at high speed or in a free fall from a high altitude. This discovery tends to rule out a Mogul balloon train that normally settles to Earth comparatively gently. These structures only fracture with an explosion or from a high speed impact. These photographs are evidence that tends to prove something other that a MOGUL RAWIN kite like device is in the photographs. If Neil's analysis is correct its apparent thick half inch beams were not used in the Mogul according to the Army Air Force's own specifications. I congratulate Neil Morris and members of the RPIT team for their findings. This debris is much more likely to be part of some type of a craft, but certainly not part of the Mogul balloon. The RPIT discoveries are at and

New Roswell Evidence Deciphered

In Gen. Ramey's Memo

From George A. Filer

Director - Mutual UFO Network Eastern

MUFON Skywatch Investigations

Filer's Files #43 10-31-00

Several groups of researchers are working to read the Roswell message. Researcher Tom Carey provides the following data, "The Roswell research team of Tom Carey and Don Schmitt continues to break new ground in their attempt to "decipher" the so-called "Ramey Memo." In one of the July 8, 1947, photographs taken by Fort Worth Star Telegram reporter/photographer, J. Bond Johnson, Gen. Roger M. Ramey can be seen holding a piece of paper with writing on it as he kneels by some obvious weather balloon debris on the floor of his office. Several teams of researchers, including Carey and Schmitt, have attempted, by means of computer software programs, to "read" what is contained in what has become known as the "Ramey Memo." In July, with the support of the International UFO Museum and Research Center in ROSWELL, Carey and Schmitt made arrangements to have the original negative scanned by sophisticated techniques at the University of Texas Arlington Archives where it is kept. This was a one-time-only operation as permitted by the University of Texas. The result is, in essence, a new negative of the original picture and not merely a photo of it. This includes a number of non-UFO-related entities as well as several well-respected Roswell-focused investigators who have attempted to "read" the memo before. One of these, respected Roswell researcher David Rudiak has forwarded his results to me, and they are gratifying to say the least. David advises me that the new scan helped to "clear up" some of the problem areas that he had previously been having trouble with. Neil Morris from the University of Manchester in England with the Roswell Photo Research Team plus Don Burleson have also provided their interpretations of the message. Neil states, "In this comparison I have used my standard convention in my 'take' of the message. 1) Capitals denote firm interpretation. 2) Lower space are educated guesses. (they fit for spelling and syntax but may be incorrect) 3) "*" denote unknown letter, 4) My line format, is to the best I can conclude, correct to the grid layout of the typed text in the Ramey Message. (M) - Neil Morris current "take." April 2000 (B) -- Don Burleson's interpretation MUFON Journal March 2000. - (R) - David Rudiak September 2000. This is a work in progress by dedicated researchers. Tom Carey provides some comments after each sentence:

Line 1. ???XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX XXXXX-XXX XXXX XXXXX-X XX XXX (M) recoVERY Was ROSWELl Head oIc giveN AS THE (B) ECO-- OPERATION WITH ROSWELL DISK 074 MJ--- AT THE (R) NEAR OPERATION AT THE This probably refers to the one of the recovery operations. Remember, we believe that there were at least two, possibly, three sites associated with whatever crashed at Roswell in 1947 - Tom

We believe that there were one, possibly two, "victim" sites. And we know that they went to Ft. Worth prior to heading east. - Tom]

Worth the following day - July 9th, 1947 - by B-29 special transport ("ST"). We also know that flights from Wright Patterson to and from Roswell did in fact take place - Tom]

(R) THAT CIC-TEAM SAID THIS MISTAKEN MEANING OF STORY AND THINK By this, it appears that the original press release of July 8th, 1947 stating that the RAAF had recovered a flying disk was a local mistake perpetrated by the CIC Team at Roswell, i.e., Sheridan Cavitt., rather than being orchestrated from Washington- Tom

(R) BETTER IF THEY ADD LAND DEMO RAWIN CREWS. if weather balloon demonstrations using Rawin targets were conducted. These in fact did take place as we can see in the July 10th Alamogordo News and the July 11th Fort Worth Star Telegram. - Tom

Line 9. XXXXX- (M)****** (B) TEMPLE (R) RAMEY Neil Morris writes, "At the moment, the text seems to me to be more advisory ie a report or summery of the situation and seems to cover these main points. 1) It gives early warning "4hr" of "victims" being transferred to ? "at Fort Worth". 2) It seems to say the "onus" of the search is/was placed on a Technical and Engineering unit and they are requesting further support possibly out at a "site one". 3) It informs that the 509th Bomb Group released some of the information to the media at noon that day, 4) It advises "adv" that ?initially? the theory of the "weather balloon's" radar reflectors as being responsible had been suggested or given. I personally get the impression this is info being given from a third party fully aware of what is going on and to what extent, they seem to have a full overview of the situation. From the way the 509th is referred to I don't think this document originated there, but it does seem to have the feel of a report from "a forward command."

Thanks to Neil Morris Rudiak, and Don Burleson, for their continuing efforts in this area of Roswell research. Editor's Note: Work continues on the General Ramey message probably written by him to higher headquarters.

I have been trying to delete my I report account and all the videos that are on it. But there is no delte button.

what happened was, I actualy read the terms of use, and did you know Ireport can distribute your creations with out you knowledge and even make money from your creations with out even giving you credit?

so, How can I delete my videos?

how can I delete my account?

I have written Ireport hundreds of times asking to be deleted from theif dreadful piss poor website, but all I get are computer generated replies telling me about how great Ireport is..

what does a guy have to do do to get his account deleted and to retain back all of the ownership of the content that was posted on this crummy site?

I don't wish to flood Ireport with Porn videos, but if that's what it takes to have my account ended... I will resort to this..

I will post porn uo on every page possible till you suspend me, But what of my ownership of my films that I worked so hard to create. they do not belong to ireport and I do not agree to let ireport distribute them.

first will come the porn, then will come the law suits..

This comment is for "President" "Obama"!

This is just my opinion,I don't think our "President" should have too feel bad or apologize for the team of people he had choosen too work with.

We all make mistakes, I'm just glad it was caught in time, before things got out of hand.

I say too those who were picked, it was suppose too have been a honor too them. So there for it's their fault for not confessing before saying yes and excepting "The Presidents" offer. As for the

"Republicans" there should be a through investigation done on them. So the "public" can see what is in their closet. I'm pretty sure some skeletons can be found. Stop hating and giving our "New President" a hard time, join in by working together, side by side, and help make change.
