Reacting to the debate

It was quite the momentous occasion Saturday night as four iReporters were live in-studio with Roland Martin on his CNN special "What They Didn't Say... in the Debate". After maggiedo 's (real name: Maggie Dowling) iReport on McCain's call to postpone the debate because of the bail-out, she told Martin that "McCain didn't talk about what his big plan was to delay the debate." mongo9584 (real name: Kevin Neugebauer) responded, "If we're having a problem like this in the financial institutions, it is (McCain and Obama's) job to do what they can do to help." Neugebauer mentioned that immigration, a major issue in his hometown of Katy, Texas, was not discussed in the debate. kbrown0419 (real name: Katy Brown) was disappointed in the exchange over the bail-out during the debate in particular: "It seemed like they beat around the bush. It was never a direct answer." She was also disappointed that North Korea was not discussed at length in the debate. zennie62 (real name: Zennie Abraham) said, "I thought Senator Obama did a great job in mentioning China and our relationship with China and that we borrow money from them, which leaves us vulnerable to their actions around the world, but I don't think that anyone in Congress fully understands that we're in serious economic trouble ." As Martin said, "Political pundits are just fine but (iReporters) are the voters and your opinion is what really matters," and it was great to see iReporters given a chance to share their views in a forum like this. Click here to watch the lively discussion in full , and fire up your webcam to share your thoughts on the debate here .

Lets see where congresses  heart is. How much are the member of congress going to get paid for policing the bailout program. Are we going to have a second bailout program to pay them or are they going to do it free gratious since they are so loyal and patriotic to the country they serve.

This bailout is the largest step that American has even taken to socialism.  It is the plan of a former Wall Street official to bail out his friends.  When the Nation expressed rage at the very notion, the Democrats responded by asking “What do you want … we’ll add it to the pot to get you to go along.”  If banks fail, let them fail.  If people took out mortgages they can’t pay, let them be foreclosed.  Real estate prices are falling, but this only brings housing closer to the reach of people who have been priced out of the market.

Granted, but you may say “without the bailout, the big banks will stop lending money, no one will be able to afford these homes at any price, and American will go down the drain.”  That is nothing short of extortion.  There is a Trillion dollars sitting on the sidelines in the hands of people who justifiably no longer trust big banks and their sweetheart deals with liberals who have used the “loan to anyone and let the taxpayer pay” strategy to re-distribute wealth; not only to the poor but to the very rich.  Banking is not the product of a BANK, it is the reflection of a free market SYSTEM.  That system does not fail with a bank unless we destroy the system itself with a move like this Bailout.  We need to let the market work; not regulate it out of existence.  The financial crisis is not a creature of GOP de-regulation; it is the result of the left’s turning the financial markets into a new welfare system.

Some of you may remember the taxi strike in New York.  Everyone said that if we didn’t give in, New York would collapse.  Well, it didn’t collapse; it just felt a breath of fresh air as the market went back to work and individual initiate kicked back in.  Before long, the cab drivers were begging to get back to work.  The same thing will happen if we say NO to this bailout.

The GOP ticket needs to take a stand.  The Democrats are claiming “credit” for the Bailout – they say McCain just “stood in the way.”  Well, he should stand in the way.  We can act responsibility without acting like fools.

am appalled that we have $700 Billion Dollar to Bail Out the same people that got us in the mess to begin with. Why not set up tents outside the Capitol Building in D.C. and Post Offices' around the U.S. and give the money directly to the millions of pepole that are struggling by the mistakes of all the EINSTEINS in the political arena? Seems to me , that what is left of the middle class, can make the Economy turn around, after all, we are the ones that buy goods and services. I would also like to freeze the assets of all the CEO's and Financial Geniuses to pay back this debt. Has any one asked themselves what would happen if China wanted the money that US owes them back now? We would be part of the People's Republic of China.

This plan will not help anyone except Wall Street, if you are unemployed, after this plan you will still be unemployed, if your house is being foreclosed, after this bill, it will still be foreclosed, if your 401k and other other stocks are worthless, after the bail out they will still be worthless. Do not be seduced or fooled by this urgent call to act now, the markets will be just fine without our money, it may fall a bit, but it will go back up.

Only the Corporate elite will benefit from this bail out, ask yourself when the last time Government acted in your best interest and not the interest of the elite,I can't think of one, but I can tell you about all the legislation passed to help every Corporation that has donated billions to our Congressional leaders, this is the same thing, a wolf in sheep's clothing, our Government telling us how they are going to help us, by bailing out the rich.

Everyone needs to contact their Representative and protest this bill NOW!!! before it's too late, here is the site to contact your representative. www.house.gov

I simply cannot remember the last time I woke up in the middle of the night worried about the military and economic security of Waziristan.  Nor did I ever think I would hear about it in a presidential campaign.  In fact, I am tired of hearing about all countries whose names end with "stan"!  I have a good friend whose first name is Stan.  But I now think that if Stan was his last name, I would not be so fond of him.  The last thing I need right now is a friend named Jackie Stan, or something like that.  I also do not think that my lack of concern for all these remote stans makes me an isolationist.  I favor American relations all across the globe, but it seems that some politicians are more concerned about all these Remotistans (Afghanistan and Pakistan not being among them) than they are about places like North Korea, Sudan, and even Spain.  It's like they're saying we shouldn't talk to any contries without pre-conditions, unless of course their names end in stan!  Furthermore, we certainly should be very much more concerned about places like Ohiostan, Pennsylvaniastan, Coloradostan, Floridastan, and Michiganstan.  It seems like this whole campaign has come to a Stanstill.  Let's get real.

Best wishes from Clambakeistan

I just looked at the bill proposed by Congress on the bail out of Wall Street, and it includes bailing out foreign banks, yes I said FOREIGN banks will be bailed with our taxpayer dollars, first they ask us for this bail out to help our economy, and now I find out they are going to help foreign banks, with our money.

BTW Look at the first part of the bill, the last sentence (and for other purposes), below.

To provide authority for the Federal Government to purchase and insure

certain types of troubled assets for the purposes of providing stability

to and preventing disruption in the economy and financial system and

protecting taxpayers, and for other purposes.

It all comes down this - an economy based on making money on money and not on making things burns out eventaully.

It is all about free trade that is not trade but about moving production from place to place anywhere in the world for the sake of cheaper labor

The real commodities of so called free trade are workers who are traded on a world block down to the lowest levels of wage slave and even child labor. Labor is the main variable in the mix. The elder Bush announced free trade, Clinton came and acted as set-up man for it and Bush the Second was the closer. McCain and Obaman will continue this great betrayal of workers everywhere.

Both major candidates hide from this issue and the 2008 money crisis is based on this issue.  Tariffs have been taken off products and put on workers and their pocketbooks.

After much haggling, Congress and the Administration are about to reach a compromise bill that is expected to be passed in the next 24 hours or so.

One provision that some members of Congress were passionate about was the executive compensation of the officers of AIG and the financial institutions that are going to benifit from the bailout.

What is patently missing from the bailout bill are restrictions on an future contributions to members of Congress, either by direct contribution to political parties, campaigns or to PACs.

This is particularly offensive after seeing all the sound-bits on CNN and other networks about how much money members of Congress have received from these financial institutions over the past few years while this crisis was brewing

Otherwise, in the coming months, running up to elections, members of Congress can be paid well for a weekend's effort for taking care of the good ol' boys of Wall Street.

Perhaps not the $12-15 million the WaMu CEO is going to receive for being on the job less than three weeks, but collectively, members of Congress could well receive a windfall of contributions, all paid for with taxpayer dollars.

In a gesture of transparency, there should be full disclosure of how much money each member of Congress received from the about to be bailed out institutions, officers and employees and their commitment not to take another dime.

Then you can decide if your elected representatives are representing you or corporate interests.

If you want this loophole eliminated, eMail your Representative or Senator today, don't let this loophole slip by.

Otherwise, "the beat goes on".

People keep saying that the two senators must go back to Washington to do their job, but they forget that this is the computer age and a senators job can be done using modern tools.  The senators job is to talk, read, discuss and reflect on the bills in question, they can do this things in DC or Seattle using modern tools.  Didn't the people on your panel send iReports and did not have to be there with you to do that job?

John McCain won the debate - hands down-

I hope next time he can look Obama in the eyes and tell him a few things like: What Americans want...

Anyone running for President of the United States of American should have served in the Armed Forces.  Because they are going to be Comamader and Cheif ...  That's #1 for me.

Obama comes from a white woman who was unwed and 17 years of age.  He was raised a muslim like his father - that scares me.

What if he is a plant from the middle east - This could be Osama Bin Laden's greatest victory.

Tell you know that in 1987 Lt Col Oliver North told the senate and congress about Osama Bin Laden.

They questioned him and asked Lt Col North why he put in a 60,000 security system - He answered "I fear for my life and Americans" The senator said why?  Because Osama Bin Laden is evil and a murderer . He will kill every American if he could, Sir.

The senator laughed at him and could'nt even pronoce Osam Bin Laden's name

That senator was Al Gore

Hi, I just wanted tell you one thing: I was in Russia two years ago and watching CNN in my hotel where they were discussing whether China, Russia or India will be the next power in the world. Well, until US doesn't stop sending big corporations to China and giving jobs to India, we will never fix our internal problems and our middle class will gradually dissapear. In India and China right now over 300 mill. people live life as we used to have as a middle class, and that is because we give them everything to succeed. China still has Communist government, why then we can't do bussiness with North Korea or Cuba or even travelling to Cuba, why China has such a special attention from US? Why don't we better negotiate with Latin America as Ecuador, Venezuella, Mexico and do bussines with them re: oil instead of making Arab countries even richer.

I think the government should not use taxpayers' money to buy bad debt. The government should go after the Wall Street executives and bankers that have absconded with the wealth of the American people. They should be tried and their assets seized for the money they've stolen. No place does Congress or the Senate talk about this. Get the money back from the criminals who took it. Don't give them more!

If I were a military general and you asked me if I would dig a ditch across Nevada and I said, "I would", would you think that I was going to dig it myself?  So why does John King think that when Obama said, "I would" talk with Iran, Argentina and Cuba, would he mean that he would do it all by himself?  John, that's rediculous.

Not only did Henry Kissinger recommend talks with Iran  and other adversarial countries initially on a high level such at the Secretary of State level last week, but so did Colin Powell, James Baker, Madeline Albright and Warren Christopher.  Let's be honest.

September 29, 2008

This bailout won't help main street anytime soon if at all. What happens to those who are in foreclousre or those near it or those if and when they lose their jobs because of unemployment.  Who helps them?! This adminstration once again is not listening to the people.

There is no middle class anymore.  The FUNDANETALS of this country are unemployed because their jobs were taken overseas and the.  The only  jobs left, pay wages that no can can live on .  Instead of' welfare to work' it is now work to welfare and all the red tape.  What a joke.

People don't know their history. In 1929 there was a stock market crash that lead to the great depression. Herbert Hoover, a Republican, as well as the House of Representatives and the Senate were controlled by Republicans, mostly conservatives. Even the Democrats were conservative. The point is they all had a policy of let the market correct itself, and as history reflects, that never happened. Plus, Congress did not introduce one bill to help anyone.  The results of this policy was that FDR was swept into office with a huge landside, and with only a few exceptions, all incumbants were replaced in the 1933 election. Now I see that the House Republicans are opposed to the Bailout Bill and they want the market to correct itself.  Now where have I heard that before?  I fear that if this bill does not pass, we will be heading into a huge depression similar to that of the 1930's. This bailout may not work and we still may end up in a depression, but we have to try something. Does anyone know the location of a good soup kitchen?

I noticed that John McCain never once challenged that Sen. Obama may not be eligible to run for President.  A law suit has been filed in Federal Court claiming that the Senator was actually born in Kenya, not Hawaii as claimed.  The attorney who filed the law suit claims to have documentation proving that Sen. Obama was born in Kenya and has several sworn affidavits from family members stating the Senator was born in Kenya. The Federal Judge ordered Sen. Obama to present the "vault copy" also known as the long copy to prove he was born in Hawaii.  The due date was Sept. 25th, 2008 and instead of presenting the required document, his attorney requested a new due date.  This seems to be very fishy as it is extremely easy to obtain the vault copy of one's birth certificate.  If Sen. Obama can't produce this document and the Pennsylvania attorney is able to produce the documents he claims he has, this means that Sen Obama is not elegible to run for the Presidency according to Article 2, section one of the Constitution which states that a candidate must be a natural born citizen.

The bailout should have a provision that the top executives of any company receiving help lose any contract provisions for golden parachutes and, I think, the CEO,CFO and Board Members should face stiff fines.  It is time that something is done to rein in the obscene salaries paid to top executives and board members.  The good old boy system is in direct opposition to stock holders rights and expectations.

So if our national security is dependent on our financial security, and our financial security has been put at dire risk due to the decisions and actions of a few specific individuals, then what would preclude the results of those actions as be characterized as teason, and the individuals responsible for the those actions as being considered traitors? And don't we already have laws designed to deal with teason and traitors?

I was very disappointed that Obama indicated that he would most likely stoop to McCain's level and support the bailout of the  fat cats of Wall Street over Main Street, I guess political contributions from these fat cats are more important than the welfare of the citizens of this country.  Considering the lesser of two evils I will most likely still vote for Obama as I consider McCain a bottom feeder from the beginning.  I feel the best thing the news media can do for the American public is supply us with the names of the politicians that support the bailout so that when this ripoff is exposed for what it really is we will know who should stay and who should go.  If you think the 700 billion is all Wall Street wants I would advise you to think again!!  The golden parachute will not come into play as this money will allow the CEOs to keep their high paying jobs and conduct their funny business as usual.

What struck me the most about the debate was how much these two actually agree on the issues? Thus reinforcing my theory that. There really is not any difference between the two major parties. Both are in the pockets of the lobbyists, both are for continued policy of the war against something? Both are for raising taxes and growing the size of government in our lives, and both are for this Wall Street bailout with no questions asked, only to protect the losses of the irresponsible Wall Street.

I ask you the voter to check to see if your representative votes yes to this bailout. And if they voted yes, than look for someone new to be your elected representative.

We receive nothing but an empty promise of lower taxes every election season, but no one is really has a plan to reduce Government spending? Did you see the movie” I.O.U.S.A”?  Of course not, this movie should be on prime time public TV. Every American should do the math, 350 Million citizens divided into 60 trillion dollars of debt. That is our money flushed down the tubes in government of over spending.

Wake up America! If we only look at the current financial crisis as a financial challenge, and neglect to see that more importantly it is a moral and ethical challenge, then it would mean that America will never ever learn the lesson even after such a gigantic setback, and that would be too costly and too much a shame, more so than any financial pain that will be faced.  America must survive morally and ethically from this more than surviving financially.  America will survive financially in the end, have faith.  Don't forfeit moral and ethical evolution and advancement in America for financial anesthesia.

September 29, 2008

American CAN afford to survive a very painful financial crisis, how ever long it takes; but America CANNOT afford to time and again fail the moral and ethical challenge to learn the lesson not to forfeit moral and ethical evolution and advancement in America for financial anesthesia. Financial slowdown will not kill America, but forfeiting moral and ethical courage will kill America's character and integrity, which is a far more costly loss than any financial pain.

America must have the courage to do the tough thing, to make the tough choice, rather than opt for the "less painful" way out.  That is not like the America it should be. Terrorist? Ha !!!! Mortgage lenders and politicians are who we have to worry about.

I can't believe that we as a nation have been fighting terrorism while politicians and predator lenders have been destroying our country. Now they want to stick the knife in and twist it by trying to pass another stupid loan to supposedly help our situation. Isn't that what has gotten here you idiots...???

I've heard that there are many other ways of making sure we don't sink our nation one I heard was to undo the Capital Gains Bill that would allow a flood of monies to come back into our economy. Is that not true. There were several other great ideas but I'm too damn worked up to quote them correctly. Please people banned together as the Mexicans did over the Alien Bill last year and show we do care about our country.

Please don't let them just float another bad loan and think it's okay.

We have to resolve this with a sharp pencil and great ideas.... for our kids and kids kids.... The terrorist are laughing there butts off at us..... we are destroying ourselves. Thank you Mortgage Companies and predator lenders I hope you all get the Karma you deserve.!!!!

What if we raise Tarriffs, really regulate NAFTA, and give billions of tax incentives to businesses in America that hire Americans. It would be a virtual closing of the boarders. Wouldn’t that create good American jobs, limit the cheap, lead and melamine riddled goods from flooding the marketplace and make it possible for us to pay for our mortgages? In addition it would raise the value of the dollar and make it possible for Americans to be the rich world travelers we once were.  Give tax incentives to working, job-creating Americans, not the people that pray on Americans in Wall Street.

Democrats have already caved in to the "Golden Parachute" demand.  I suppose it wll be the tax on capitol gains next.   Obama should take the popular stand and not give in to the Republican scam that is being perpetuated on the people.   We can recover from a deep resession but not the inflation that the bail-out will accelerate.  This is a Republican wealthy-elite problem.  Let them bail out the American people.  NOT SOCIALISM

I oppose the proposed bailout plan because it's a lousy plan.  It will not help main street or our economy or our financial systems in the mid-term or long-term.  It is a panic bill, wilder than the emotions on Wall Street.  Get educated, e.g., on rgemonitor.com -- which all involved should have done weeks ago before dragging us all through this mess.

Here we go! With the defeat of the bailout bill we're heading for a minimum of a very deep recession or most likely a full-fledge depression equal to or greater than the 1929 crash and depression.  Today after the results of the House vote were announced, the stock market crashed 777 points. This was larger than the 1929 crash.  Like I said, here we go. I know that most people did't like the bailout, however, when people start to loose their jobs and can't find another one, and they can't put food on their tables and they watch their kids going to bed hungry, these same people will be squealing for help like a greased pig.  It will take five, maybe even ten years to recover from this.  May God have mercy upon us all.

America, never let the media, the "still greedy", and the moral and ethically deficient try to scare you into giving in to the baneful bailout package, when in fact the rejection of it is a historically unprecedented MORAL and ETHICAL TRIUMPH by Americans! This is a moment worth noting of American moral and ethical courage; do not let the cynics spin this victory of moral and ethical will by forcing people to see this only in financial terms, in fact that exhibits how limited and narrow-minded their vision of America is.  America is much better than that.

America can survive financial pain, but America may not survive the shame of more moral and ethical decay, which this "blackmail" bailout package truly is. Its rejection is a clear reflection of America's courage and character, it is a shinning sign of hope.  Do not let the cynics spin this into a negative turn out.

We have troops that have spent two, maybe three holidays away from home, fighting a losing war. Congressmen are trying to justify going home for the holidays when we are in a financial disaster.  It would be nice if we could put the war on hold so our soldiers could come home for their holidays.

When is this president going to be impeached?!  He has told nothing but lies! He lied about the war , he lied about the economy telling us that it was good when many of us knew it wasn't, what with prices going up on everything.

And republicans need to stop whining about Pelosi's speech and using her as an excuse for not voting on this bailout.  Enough!

September 30, 2008

marybarr; I concur! It's obvious congress does not have a clue to what happens on main st. Our retirement funds are dwindling by the minute .  We cannot afford to just sit and wait for congress to get it together and vote!  Seems like many of them have their pockets full and just don't care!

I nearly fell out of my chair when I just heard McCain say on CNN that the problem with the bailout bill not being able to pass is in the use of the term "bailout"...so he suggest that it be changed to a "rescue" bill, so, he believes, then American taxpayers would, experience a light bulb go "Bing!" in their mind and come around and support it...Are you kidding? I cannot believe how condescending he is to think that American taxpayers have no brains of their own, so if you change the term, then their minds would change...And this guy is trying to be the most powerful leader in the world?...I have news for McCain: American taxpayers DO understand the BAILOUT bill from the get go, they simply have a different opinion about it than him and those who support it.  It is not because taxpayers don't "understand"; McCain himself used the wrong word, the word he was looking for was "agree", because the fact is that taxpayers don't "AGREE" with the bill, and not "don't understand it".  The gall of him...unbelievable!

Dear Leaders of America: Please do whatever is necessary to get the Bailout through Congress!  I own a dental practice and I was anticipating a line of credit from my bank...well, that has been put on hold.

On top of that, today President Bush tells America that "Congress is out because it is a Jewish Holiday".  Did you also know that is a Muslim Holiday (Eid)?  But, that does not matter...  Jewish or Muslim or Budhist...  This Country is in an Emergency Crisis that is being treated lightly!

Please, do your job so I can keep mine and my employees can keep their's.

I am absolutely disgusted by what is happening to our country!  Hard working middle class Americans have been used and abused.  It seems as though many of us are on the same page in that your everyday ordinary American is the one suffering at the expense of the "big wigs" in Washington and Wall Street.  They have preyed on us, they have devoured us, and they are continuing to do so.  It sickens me to think that we "Main Street" Americans (as we are being called) are now in a position of struggling to save our lives, our homes, our futures just so the Wall Street monsters can continue in their lap of luxury.  Look, the reality is that the middle class American family, while probably the majority, is being treated like a minority.  We are held captive to the greed that has become so evident in the upper echelon of our society today.  What on earth happened to this country?  Why should we have to pay to bail out those who have continuously robbed us of our freedom by feeding us empty promises, predatory lending, and high taxes (on everything.) Being a small business owner that relies heavily on income associated with the housing and construction market, we are sucking salt and while I understand something needs to happen and quickly, I think it's an absolute travesty that it happen at our expense.  Kind of ironic how if we don't pay our taxes we are faced with losing our homes, our business and everything we own yet even when we do pay our taxes we are faced with the same.  When are we all going to take a stand and say enough is enough!!  I, personally, am fed up with making the rich richer while I become poorer.  I know there are many others just like me out there.  Let the monsters who created this debacle dig the institutions they collapsed out with their own money!  Lord knows they have it!  The corruption and favoritism of our governement with these "untouchables" has got to stop!  The greed that got us here has got to stop!  I wonder how the government would feel if we hard working, struggling, "Main Street" Americans just all decided not to pay our taxes?  Just a thought!  Come on America, it's time to take a stand against Goliath!  I have never been one to really follow politics (like I am today) because of the lies and empty promises, but I know this - we are being robbed and no matter what decision is made - we are going to pay the ultimate price.  It will either be by our hard earned, taxed-to-death money bailing the monsters out or by more of us losing our homes, our businesses, our jobs, our futures, our children's futures, our lives.  Stop the greed! For those who read the Bible and those who don't, check out James 5:1-5!

So this is what we have come to...the shameful blackmail in the bailout bill has now become a bipartisan swindle...American taxpayers are about to get screwed! Now it has become official that there is no one out there anymore representing the Americans taxpayers.  They have decided to collude in this blackmail, one side to bailout the Wall Street CEOs, the other to bailout what would be a more difficult presidential term...But where is the one that carries the voice of the American taxpayers who are against this entire bailout bill? Even the media has abandoned the Americans that oppose it. This is so wrong!

so we really dont see what going on? I feel that Mcain really doesn't have a mind of his own, this is like a game of chest to him, he waits on Obama to make a move, then he tries to overtake him by pulling out the stops. First he wanted to have a black vp, when that didn't work, he goes to find a woman, I guess he saw how we reacted to Hilary, He said,"this stunt will bring me more of the female voters' so let me pick this woman, who doesn't know shit, but how to get pity and attention for her special needs child and preganant daughter. And eventhough I have only met with her twice in my whole life, she is good enough to win with, cause if we can have a Black man running for president, then any ole white person will do." we can see the game he is playing and it is sick, just as sick as he is, really! we cant get anymore screwed up then what we are, so why not take a chance and open up our mind to something new? Why do we want to continue to go down this path? whats going to happen when he doesn't feel up to running the country or he is in the hospital for some odd reason, what if he has flashbacks or something? ooh yea...we got that lady from alaska to take over for him! who is that? really?

The candidates both need to come clean with the voters and tell them this crisis has in part been a result of over inflated house prices. While there was greed and oppotunism by lenders and wall street the credit crisis was also fueled by either the use of or the expectation of increasing home equity. Our economy is now paying for all that cash that seemed for free. Recovery will include a continuing drop in house values which will not recover for some time.

Yes the middle class will be hurt by this as consumer spending drops, the economy slows and unemployment rises. The candidates need to address how these real problems facing the economy will be addressed and get off the soap box about lobbyists, ceo's and wall street fat cats (all of whom should condemned or jailed) and start addressing the real problems facing our economy, infrastructure, education and grwing innovation and small business.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonifide

U.S.

Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and

child.

So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals

$425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a "We Deserve It

Dividend".

Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends

$25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A

husband

and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage, housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans, what a great boost to new grads

Put away money for college, it'll be there

Save in a bank, create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car, create jobs

Invest in the market , capital drives growth

Pay for your parent's medical insurance, health care improves

Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean, or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+  including the folks

who

lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is

cutting

back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of

trickling out a puny $1000.00 (vote buy) economic incentive that is

being

proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult

U S

Citizen 18+!

As for AIG liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go

back to

being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector

bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.

Sure it's a crazy idea that can never work. Maybe???

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion "We

Deserve It Dividend" more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington

DC.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because

$25.5

Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Pass it on!!

I agree with joe3661901, and I know of a few other people that would as well.  I do believe though there should be stipulations as to who gets the money.  Lets face it not everyone is hurting.  But the middle and low class are the ones taken the major brunt of all this.  I know for a fact paying off our house and taking care of bills would be our main and first plan.  With money left we could takecare of other avenues in our life which would free up more money to use on other things that of course would stimulate the economy.  Let's face it what they did gives us early this year wasn't enough.  Why should we as taxpayers bail everyone out and get NOTHING in return.  The sad thing about this comment is.....What are the chances that it will get to someone who is willing to listen to our idea and take action.

Everyone we elect seems to know what is best for us, but in fact they are not us and they do not ask our opinion.  Why is that?  Could it be because they are afraid of the answers they may get?  Could it be because it would mean they would have to come off their high and mighty throwns and actually see what real people go through day by day and paycheck to paycheck?  Could it be becasue so many of them do not want to be reminded of where they came from?  Sometimes in order do what is right for the people you have to be one of the people.......Maybe that is something they need to think about.  It is not hard to figure out they just all seem as though they do not want to take the time.

You know I once had a theory of the perfect presidential canidate.  Find a farmer who has ran his ranch through generations and managed to stay in the black through hard work and determination and there you will find someone who knows what it takes to make things work.  Not a large bank account or a silver spoon in there mouth.

You want to solve things ask the people it effects the most.  Ask the people whos money you want to use.  ASK THE TAXPAYERS!!!!!!

I am only person.  We are all only one person, but all our voices and opinions should count for something. Shouldn't they?

How about this.., every middle class american should listen and then SPEAK UP - lets be HEARD!! Instead of bailing out the banks to give them money -to then lend to factories and institutions that control our money and put us in the situation we are currantly in.., lets say we give every middle class couple or single people $50,000.00 to pay their mortagages,2nd mortgages, credit cards and auto payoffs.etc Which the banks will still get the funds needed to loan to the corporations they were going to lend it to anyway. To boost our economy and help the Americans citizens whom should come 1st!!!After all its us tax payers that will ultimately pay for the bail out anyway- DO WE HAVE ANY SAY?? So why not help us 1st so that we can help the banks therefore saving ourselves and the banks - killing two birds with one stone so to speak.Paying off the banks will not help us pay off our first and 2nd mortgages, college loans, car loans, credit cards and so on.  Oh.., yea- don't forget the back taxes!!!

It's a rude awakening for Washington and the bipartisan politicians that American taxpayers are actually MUCH SMARTER and less prone to be swindled they had imagined.  So what do they do, now that they realize simply lying and blackmailing American people just isn't going to work? They abandon all civility and start planning to blatantly RAPE the American taxpayers regardless of how you resist! That is exactly what is happening now! All that had proceeded, the seeking of approval of the taxpayers and the bipartisan discussion and agreement-reaching was all just a song-and-dance, now that they can't get their way, they don't care anymore how much American taxpayers fight it, they are just simply going to RAPE you straight out, no more niceties.  Now we are seeing Washington and all the politicians' TRUE COLORS...just plain bandits and rapers in suits.  Are you just going to lay down and get raped, America? Or are you going to go down fighting? Remember, America, "DON'T TREAD ON ME!" Tell Washington and all the politicians and all the Wall Street types loud and clear: "Don't you EVER try to tread on me!"

Regulators have informed us this morning that Moses, having involved himself in politics (head of a nation), and markets (Golden Idol) misstated the tablets received from God.

There are no ten commandments. There are only nine. We should have always guessed that the 9th commandment was a fib and this AM it was unilaterally notated by US regulators.

“Thou Shalt Not Lie” we are now told was always in fact itself a lie.

Financial entities no longer have to mark OTC derivatives to some reasonable nothingness, but rather market to hold to maturity value.

What makes you think that at maturity (of what) there will be satisfactory value of any kind? These are not mortgages. These are geek creation OTC derivatives on mortgages living way down at the bottom of a 20 foot equation. On top of all that if one side of the special performance contract (OTC derivatives) goes broke, like Lehman did, notional value becomes full value.

Don’t Sell Out

In our current economic state, we can not allow our fears to dictate our laws. We live in a free market society; it is only correct that things that bloom must die. What ever happens in the financial district must stay in the financial district. This is a bid for our freedom, if we allow the United States to buy our bad loans. We are only permitting the government to control our lives. This will be done by telling us; what to buy, how to buy it, and from whom to buy it from. Take a look at history from the twenty century,

Communism is very similar to this.

With this conflicting with our Fore Fathers’ ideas of freedom. Our Fore fathers could only be rolling in their graves.

Is it possible that the Republicans purposefully have been allowing or making Sarah Palin goof off on network interviews so as to really lower the expectation level from her on the VP debate? Biden did a good job of defending Obama's policies, though he was respectfully very restrained just like OBama and that is such a refreshing change from before and the Mccain administration.

I am so sick of hearing about Palin & McCain. the American people are really not stupid. I am so heartened to know that others share my opinion about the reality of the bush administration, the war in Iraq and this recent economic meltdown. Believe me, i am a mother of 2 boys and i don't think I would ever approve(God forbid) of sending my sons into war especially into a war that we HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN. HAVE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FORGOTTEN that we were supposed to fight AlQaeda & bin Laden in Afghanistan. Why & how did we get drawn into Iraq? where are the so called weapons of mass destruction and that saddam was a threat? why are we still in there? To take revenge for George Bush senior BECOZ OF THE GULF WAR? or to fill his pockets with oil rich money? or then perhaps to create so called excuses to spend money on military apparatuses(and line his & Cheney's pockets) when the reality is- HE SHOULD HAVE USED THAT MONEY FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE-

1. LIKE  HEALTHCARE( I MYSELF DON'T HAVE  A HEALTH CARE PLAN BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS SELF EMPLOYED AND WE STOPPED BEING ABLE TO AFFORD A HEALTHCARE PLAN for the last 6 years.

2. OR THEN THE RISING GAS PRICES- (I USED TO PAY 99CENTS A GALLON MAYBE 4 YEARS AGO & NOW I PAY ALMOST $4.00/GALLON)

3. HOW ABOUT RISING PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS- A SUDDEN JUMP OF ALMOST 50 PERCENT IN 2 YEARS. HOW COME?

4. UNEMPLOYMENT- how do i get a job if I am laid off, should i enlist in the army to get work?

5. how do i pay for my children's education with rising college fees and the current economic crisis with major money market Corporations & Banks going under?where is my money safe?(what little i have of it)

6. the world market is so competitive- will my children be able to compete in the world market for jobs if they are getting substandard education?with schools cutting down on critical educational programs in schools and no help or incentives for children to do better if they are struggling with their studies.

how is this bailout going to HELP ME RIGHT NOW and in the long run. NADA

I don't care about other countries problems. lets first solve our own before we go about being charitable to countries who donot need it. Palin said right now in the debate that Israel is our biggest ally, why is that? maybe IS IT because we pay then $10 billion a year? what do we really gain from Israel,(no offense to them, but its my tax dollars that are funding them) what about our other allies like European & Asian nations, aren't they equally important?

why does America have to be the big bully, what happened to America being the big brother of before. why do we have to go into another country and destroy their entire makeup on the pretext of creating freedom. Is it so that the American president gets  a geography lesson on knowing the countries of the world and their leaders. Then why are we so shocked when there is an attack like 9/11. Is that the only time we are going to get up and take notice?- oh the world hates us!I think we are more backward than the so called third world countries, they have had Women Presidents and we haven't.Maybe they are more experienced than we are.

I think its time WE the people did something about our future, Vote for Obama and make sure he keeps his end of the bargain, hold him responsible for his acts, If you vote for McCain u get more of the same, just talk and trash and war. we don't need war , we need peace & stability and concentration on our economy and our lives, not the lives of people in foreign lands. Mccain's not the answer. What's a guy with a billionaire wife & 8 or 9 houses and cars know about the common American people. He is a turncoat, he knows nothing about the American people or their dreams or wishes, maverick my foot! when it suited him he sided with bush, when he ran for presidential nominee against bush, he trashed him. how can we believe in him or what he stands for? I am willing to vote for Obama/Biden and have a little hope and faith because if I don't keep that faith I am afraid I am going to completely lose it.

I'm so impressed that Sarah Palin took the time out from killing wolves, moose, and the polar bears.  Oh, and the environment, and of course it's not our fault that the EARTH is dying...Wow Genius...simply Genius.  I'm not a tree hugger, but I would love for my son and daughter to see an actual polar bear, instead of just pics.  Oh, and way to go Sarah, you really know your running mate's track record.  Maybe, you should sit down and go over his merits with "Good Ole Joe"...Drill Baby Drill...What a dumb slogan?  I guess they can drill up some money to save our economy...to save our educational system...to save our troops...to save our health care system...maybe they can keep drilling and fix the thermostat on our wonderful Earth too...Dumb Baby Dumb.

But Sarah, you were pretty impressive tonight...I did learn one thing...She can form a sentence, and well thought out sentences, as well...You Go Girl!!!

And you really smart women out there, please don't vote for McCain/Palin just because one of the running mates is a woman...THAT IS SIMPLY IDIOTIC.

Is it me, or did anyone notice in closing the debate that Gov. Palin handed off her special needs child to the youngest and smallest family member. Not her husband or other two older daughters more capable of carrying the baby (all three standing right next to her). Not picking....but would it not have made more sense to give the baby to one of the older bigger family members rather than run the risk of a baby dropping the baby!!!!

Before you commit to that "upstar", please read the facts on where S Palin stands.  Our troubles come from the Bush admin, no doubt, but McCain isn't going to change much of this.  You see, it's core republican.  If you are a woman, I really hope your check into her (and McCain's) history on women's rights and abortion.  The McCain/ Palin ticket might not be what you're looking for in a Presidential candidate.  Go to Mudflats.com for a start...I hope you find what you're looking for.

NOT A FAN OF PALIN: I just need to know one thing how, who, why do people feel that Palin WON that debate. She never fully answered one question. If so, what debate was everyone watching if she did. The best thing that i did like is biden stated something about small business owner that im glad he did. As a small business owner myself I have suffered to the point were within this week I filed bankruptcy.  My business never reached $250,000 if so I wouldnt be were im at today so for Palin to say that the tax increase will hurt small business please provide me with one company thats making over $250,000 and is suffering to pay there bills, get upgrade, pay for gas. Give me one Business Name that making over $250,000 and suffering . The main reason I dont care for Palin is that she comes off as trying to be someone friend(to my soccer mom) everybody dont have kids thats play soccer(WAKE UP PALIN). I'm not looking for a friend, Im looking for a leader and OBAMA/BIDEN has proven that they are ready to lead. and an change we can beleive IN.. OBAMA-Biden all the way

Biden did a good job of defending Obama's policies. I am sick of hearing about Mccain-Palin. They both skirted the real issues that plague us as of right now and that their administration has created and they want to keep the great betrayal going on.

I want to believe in Obama & his change we can believe in, for if i don't keep that hope I am afraid I'll completely lose it.

In reading some of the comments I am so happy that the American people share my opinion about the validity of Mccain. Right now all i want to know is-

1. How do i get health insurance-(since my husband is self employed, we have been off insurance for the last 6 years since we couldn't afford it anymore)

2. Rising gas prices- 4 or 5 years ago i paid 99c/gallon, today i pay almost $4.00/gallon.

3.- property tax increases- went up by almost 50 percent in the last 2 years.

4. Unemployment- if i get laid off or don't get work, do i join the military to get work?

5. how do i pay for my sons' education since major money investing corporations and major banks are going under?-

6. will my sons' be able to compete in the world market- since the world is getting smaller due to technology and jobs are getting scarcer- education seems to be at a major standstill in the US, what with schools cutting down on critical educational programs.

Big Brother or big bully?-

No offence, but palin said in the debate today that Israel was a good (or great US ally) why is that? is it because we pay them $10 billion a year(those are our tax dollars which can be put to OUR use) what do we as citizens get out of that?

I don't care about other countries problems, let them solve their own. why do we have to go to war?I certainly would not want my sons going off to war especially a war in which we have no business fighting. We were supposed to be fighting alqaeda & bin laden, why are we in Iraq and in this mess.where are the weapons of mass destruction? is it because of Bush senior's revenge for the gulf war or is it to line his pockets with oil money or then is it to create a false economy based on war created jobs and military arms spending. The senate recently passed a bill to pay 4 or 5 billion dollars to replace our so called "aging fleet of planes" or whatever.

why do we need a bailout plan to pay for the same companies mistakes who created it in the first place.Just so that the same ceos get richer and don't have to forfeit their bonuses and assets? NO BUT NO THANKS TO THIS BRIDGE TO NOWHERE.............

lets vote for Obama and hold him to his promises. If we don't vote for him we'll never know and will certainly regret electing Mc cain, for i can see he is just more of the same - bushy like behavior, all talk, no walking. whats a guy with a billionaire wife & uncountable houses & cars know about Main street America. All he talks about is War, war & more war. WE dont want war we don't need war, what we need is a focus on US for a change.

God bless America or should i say God help America!

To: lajones623  Though the Bush administration is probably the worst in history, our problems began long before it.  They were created by the politicians in both parties who, due to their knowledge and experience, should have known better.  If you want to read something, read the "Bail Out" Bill passed by the Senate.  It's beyond outrageous; it's unconscionable.  After you read that then ask yourself is there any integrity at all left in Washington.

October 3, 2008

To sweetie26:  If you're looking for a "leader" you are not going to find it in either Obama or McCain or anyone of our other Washington representatives.  If either one of them were leaders, they would not have supported the "Bail Out" Bill as written.  That Bill is unconscionable.  Moreover, the financial crisis may have been caused by Wall Street but the panic was caused by our politicians.  Instead of calming and reassuring the public and conveying a sense of confidence and control, they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off.  They were willing to pass anything and stirred up the people into a panic that did not have to exist.  Just take a look at how some of our great President's handled crises a lot more serious then this one.  For example, take a look at Franklin D. Roosevelt's First Inaugural Address when he took office in the middle of the Depression.  If you want a leader who is willing to dive head first into a lake before checking how deep the water is then either Obama or McCain will fill the bill.

Anyway, #1 Question: What's our reward for winning the war?

I'd like to see Palin follow this up with doing the Sunday morning rounds.  She was prepped to the hilt on this debate and the convention speech was written so I don't think either one really gives a true impression of just how capable she really is.  It's said that Biden is prone to gaffes and so it's not fair to highlight Palins.  However, the huge difference is that Biden has a very long track record from which the public is able to decide just how competent he is.  Palin doesn't.  I don't see how anyone, Democrat or Republican, can not be offended by the accusation that wanting to spend more time being familiar with Palin as a politican (and she is one whether she likes to own the tag or not) is some how an evil liberal media plot.  I think everyone has to right to know this woman in more ways that a couple of interviews, a convention speech and one debate.

October 3, 2008

TO EXNAVY76:  Have you read the Bill?  Before you support it, I suggest you read it. We may need a Bill in this crisis but it certainly is not that one. The politicians may claim it is aimed at helping "Main Street" and not "Wall Street."  However, as usual, don't trust any politician when his mouth is moving.  The Bill which Congress wrote is an absolute outrage.

October 3, 2008

To Krislekat:  You are absolutely right---you do have the right to know this woman in more ways than a couple of interviews.   However, be careful the criticism of Palin for her lack of knowledge and Washington experience may be cloaking subconscious discrimination against women. Remember, Ronald Reagan had no Washington experience before he became President.  His background was primarily a Hollywood actor for most of his life and then  Governor of California. His first elected or appointed office on the federal level was President.

I watched the Vice-Presidential debate tonight and was totally disgusted by the stupidity of Sarah Palin and her hunger for power and fame by attempting to grab camera time with stating untrue, rehearsed lines over and over. I find it incredible that she has made it this far !

Conversely, I was very impressed with the wealth of knowledge and leadership skills displayed by her opponent Joe Biden !

Palin did a good job sounding folksy and appealing to her base, the conservative republicans who embrace her ideas.

However, she failed to convince the swing voters that she has a true grasp of the issues that really matter in this election. For instance, the economy and foreign policy. She skirted around the real issues and chose to speak "directly" to the public rather than answer the questions that really matter to the independents: the economy and foreign policy. She gave no specific answers to any of the real questions. She did not prove herself to be an expert or even a novice on the economy or foreign policy. Instead she used her time to talk about her experience in Alaska politics, which does not translate to experience in the national arena. Palin simply stated her position as a maverick without giving any details as to why she is a maverick or why her running mate claims to be a maverick. Empty promises and empty examples. To her credit she seemed much more informed than she did during her recent interviews, but she did little to change the independents view of her lack of experience and knowledge. Only true conservative republicans will be energized by her debate. Others will still wait and see if she is up for the challenge.

Everyone needs to admit Palin did awesome last nite. All the others who are picking apart what she said needs to get a life. The average person LOVES this woman. She is an actual human being with normal concerns. Men and woman alike just need to fess up and admit she is good and she thinks like the average American person. Does anybody really want someone who has no knowledge or concern of the common working person? Wake up people, we need her and the fresh, non-political outlook she has for us average Americans... Hi Pals,

>

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.

>

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a

We Deserve It Dividend.

>

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000

bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

>

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man,

woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults

18 and up..

>

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals

$425,000.00.

>

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve

It Dividend.

>

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.

So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

>

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends

$25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

>

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their

pocket.

A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

>

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your

family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads Put away

money for college - it'll be there Save in a bank - create money

to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car - create jobs

Invest in the market - capital drives growth Pay for your

parent's medical insurance - health care improves Enable

Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

>

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the

folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other

company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving

in our Armed Forces.

>

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do

it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" )

economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our

candidates for President.

>

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out

every adult U S Citizen 18+!

>

As for AIG - liquidate it.

Sell off its parts.

Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off

the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it

up and clean it up.

>

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.

>

Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."

>

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

>

How do you spell Economic Boom?

>

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85

Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at

AIG or in Washington DC .

>

And remember, The Davis plan only really costs $59.5 Billion

because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle

Sam.

>

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest. Kindest

personal regards, Art

A.C.Davis, A Creative Guy & Citizen of the Republic

>

PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it's either

good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to

best use $85 Billion!!

I live in little rock AR and have voted democrat ever since I was 19, supported our great gov Bill Clinton on both Arkansas politics and his terms as president.

But after hearing others say that CNN whom i have enjoyed ever since the mid to late 80's and MSNBC and the local networks cbs, nbc and abc was being bias i wrote it of as right wing BULL,BUT after I watched the debate last night and the coverage I started to feel as if the rumors was actualy FACT so i got on the internet and began fact seaching for my self.

Results are BIDEN is a BOLD FACE LIER more than half of the facts he stated was not only wrong but just plain lies! I also am sooooooooooo very descusted in the bias media coverage! I know this will be removed now because I see how BIAS you and the other networks are being.I am soooooo sad i feel as if i have lost a freind in CNN.

This is someone who could run our country in the absence of John McCain? It’s an embarrassment to women everywhere!! It makes us women seem incompetent to hold a high position of power!!  Everything she said seemed scripted and rehearsed! It was a train wreck that you couldn’t stop watching!!  In my opinion, all it did was make Obama/Biden look like the obvious choice in this election!! Come on America, are you kidding me!

Headline: "Palin Stays Up All Night and Crams Like College Student: Reads Republican Cliff Notes. Still Fails Final Exam!" Bless her little smarmy, winking, golly gee whiz heart, Sweet Sarah gave it her best Hockey Mom (whatever that is) effort last night, but couldn't seem to get past the talking points she was given to memorize to any real, substantive issues. And I take great offense to pundits and reporters saying Palin "resonates" - the new buzz word - with middle America. Not ALL middle America wears flannel and reads Four Wheel Drive Weekly! In fact, none of those who live in MY middle America do (what is it the Blue Collar Comedian says, "You might be a redneck...:?). Finally, she kept asking "Joe, why da ya keep talkin' about George Bush, there?" Simple answer: because she - and McCain - ARE George Bush!

In my opinion, the people of this great nation are not looking for a soccer mom, Joe six Pack, or any other name Sarah Palin identifies herself with, to run this country. The Republicans have turned into "yes people" because they want another Republican in the White House, no matter who it is , and even more important than that, they don't want the opposition. What this nation needs is leadership, not someone they can identify with. The American People know who they are. They know who the candidates are. If a group of people was looking to identify with the candidate, per se , following the premise of "identity", other cultures or races would have a huge problem. Millions of people would be left out. On the other hand, feeling safe , secure and at ease with the knowledge and leadership qualities that the candidates show, is much more realistic and makes more sense in determining who the President or vice president will be. We , as a nation , would not benefit from kitchen table politics alone ,we should want local and global security. The bottom line is, which vice presidential candidate could step in and be President of the United States. The nation is fighting a battle right now. Something new is happening. An African American is running for President. You can't "learn" to be President as Sarah Palin is attempting to do ,  You have to have it in your Gut. Do you really think Sarah Palin has it in her Gut? Or is she rehearsing a role? Is this what the American People want, really ? Suppose she had to step into the President's shoes? Suppose we had a terrorist attack ? Suppose we entered a depression ? Would she know what to do? Yes, there are people who surround the president with vital information, but at the end of the day, the President has to make final decisions and make them fast. It is really scary to think that even Republicans would put winning an election before intelligent leadership for this country.

It is not the in-experience of Sarah Palin that has brought the economy to where it is today, but it is all the EXPERIENCE of all the democrats and republicans alike that have caused it. Maybe it is time for the little people to be represented by someone just like themselves. At this point we propbably all have the experience to bring the country to financial devastation.

Saying Palin is "real" and "connects with people on Main Street" is an insult to real people who live on Main Street! I'm a 40-something middle class dad, married, with two kids, who lives in a small but comfortable home in the South. I don't know any moms (or dads) whos kids play hockey, have no interest in learning how to skin a moose and believe in choice for women and sex-education in schools, not abstinence only (how'd that work for Palin's daughter?). Watching - and listening - to Palin makes me worry for people who actually think she's anything other than a small town politician who got lucky and suddenly found herself elevated to the position she's in for only one reason: to try to reinvigorate a dying campaign. It worked for about two weeks. Most of America - as the polls prove - now sees through her.

And Razorback, I appreciate your zeal - but please don't lecture me, or anyone else on this blog, to "come out of our shells" or "read" more. As though we only have our closely held belifs and aren't educated about the facts. I read LOTS - books, blogs, articles, newspapers. I HAVE gotten what I think are all sides of the story. I KNOW what the facts are (like Palin saying she never raised taxes in Alaska, when the FACT is taxes went up 25% in Wasilla to help pay for that fiasco of a hockey rink she had built - and that cost millions more than budgeted). Bottom line is, I've lived through the last 8 years of the worst administration in U.S. history. I don't want four more years. Bomb, bomb Iran? How about "Palin, bomb bombed.."?

Because she says "gee wiz" and "golly" alot makes her qualified to play Gidget on tv, not to be a(n irregular) heartbeat away from the presidency.

Governor Palin's debate speech was exceptionally informative.  We should have learned that you can have a pretty face, smile at the camera and speak in a down-home, folksy and patriotic manner and still be feeding the American people a load of manure.  Wake up America, and don't get fooled again!  The last thing we need is someone else even close to the presidency who can't properly pronounce the word 'nuclear'!

Governor Palin's folksy manner only goes so far.  She belongs with the soccer moms, as she continues to remind us.  I would like to know why her husband does not hold the new baby?  I have never seen anyone but her daughters and herself hold the newborn.  It seems to me if she has such an all round ideal family that the husband should be involved with all the children.

The VP debate happened exactly how it was discussed between a friend and myself.  Biden kept is cool and did not attact Gov. Palin directly and kept within his statistical game.

Gov. Palin avoided most of the key questions like, how they handled the de-regularistaion plans and did not give any insight as to how she and Senator MacCain would separate themnselves from theh Bush admin through their policies.  All we heard from Gov. Palin was alot of smooth talking about "attacking the greedy and courrpted wall street".  Biden provided alot of specifics, but only those who had the ears to ground through most of the political season would know about.  The average "joe" on the street would of gotten lost in some of Bidens words.

Overall, the expectation of the Gov. Palin's performance going into the debate was low, so any sign of sounding coherrent, even though it was not relevant to the topic or question being discussed at the time would of made her sound good.

She has improved, but improved from what level of knowledge?

Biden sounded like a real poilictal tradionalist, but hey, thats what is was, a political debate.

The Great VP Debate

On last night Washington State University hosted the Vice Presidential debate between Sen. Joe Biden (D) and Gov. Sarah Palin (R), hosted by PBS anchorwoman Gwen Ifill. As soon as Joe Biden began to speak, I immediately felt the rush of reassurance of confidence in my choice of the Obama/Biden Campaign.  Sen. Biden is not one who is about mediocre speaking firmly and factually to the American People. Gov. Palin; on the other hand, came across as taking the debate as a “joke.” She smiled throughout most of her responses, winked at the camera, and shrugged her shoulders, making me interpret her as not being serious enough. We are not talking about the host of standup comic view or the MC for the Miss USA Pageant, we are talking about a candidate vying for the position of Vice-President of America, one who will take over as President should anything happen with the current President.  Sure, she used simple American gestures, like “DOGGONIT, and THERE YOU GO JOE,” but clearly this was not the time nor the place for such rhetoric!  Then she even when a step further to embarrass the Republican party by giving a “SHOUTOUT” during the debate. Well my goodness! If this is all so, why didn’t she show up in the latest Baby Phat outfit and have Sen. Joe Biden in Jeans and a T-shirt?????

Each time a question was proposed, Sen. Biden put forth numbers and statements to back himself up. Gov. Palin, with a smirkish grin on her face as if someone said something funny, continued to ramble around on the issues, and most of the time bypass answering the questions directly. It was apparent by Gwen who made it know at times, though I even think she could have let the candidates debated more against each other.

The charges she was making against the Obama/Biden campaign were outlandish! She even attempted to bring up “PRE-CONDITIONS” again and I am so glad Sen. Biden was ready to attack and let her know exactly what Obama meant, even to include Members of her party who agree.

Now all the media outlets and politic analysts immediately wanted to say that Gov. Palin did what she had to do. Yes, she did, that is, if you were looking for someone who can smile and come across as an Everyday person who has values that are liked but some, NOT, if you were looking for someone who could directly answer questions as they were given, who could clearly layout a plan, who wholeheartedly has the experience, who can not appear as Nervous as a Cow near a Slaughter house!  If the media outlets are so right, why does every DARN poll that every site took clearly show that the AMERICAN people selected BIDEN as the winner of the debate. Why don’t they take those factors into account instead of basing it on their insight. The voice of the people is the  most important factor to me and it’s the MEDIA who tries to give one candidate more than the other. They know that McCain is down in the polls right now and what they are trying to do, believe it or not, is sway people to be believe that the camp now, thanks to Gov. Palin’s speech, is headed back up hill.  Spare me all the glory details.  And lets not even talk about foreign policy. My father in heaven, if she didn’t need you ever, she surely needed you then because it was clear, THIS WAS NOT HER AREA OF EXPERTISE. With an ongoing crisis in the middle east, we need someone who understands the fundamentals of WAR, of Allies, of NATO, and of NUCLEAR WARFARE.  It is not just about pronouncing names as it is knowing WHEN TO COUNT EM AND WHEN TO FOLD EM!

GO OBAMA and GO BIDEN! WE WONT BE UNDERSOLD THIS TIME. NOT NOW. NOT NEVER. EVEN PALIN HAD TO ADMIT THAT SOME ACTIONS OF THE REPUBLICANS ARE WRONG AND THAT WE NEED CHANGE.  WELL SARAH, THAT MY FRIEND, IS OBAMA’S BOTTOM LINE.

Maybe a better question is, why woman want equal rights but men are expected to treat woman different than they would treat a man in a debate. Doesn't sound equal to me.

I was happy that Biden talked about being a man, a father, and that as a man he doesn't have to stand second to any woman when it comes to caring for his family and understanding American family concerns.

I only wish as a man Joe would have emphasized more that men are just as much or more capable as woman are to understand and care for our families, Woman want to wear their gender on their chest as a badge of honor, "I'm a woman there for I am better than men at caring for kids, household jobs, etc.

Getting this “woman power- crap” shoved down our throats constantly on TV is really getting old.

If you’re qualified and you happen to be a woman, so what- why should anyone care that you’re a woman, just like a man, if you do the job then fine, just don’t keep reminding me that you’re a woman.  When woman can do this then they will be equal to men. You don’t see men out there saying look what I did, I’m a man.

When television commercials stop pandering to woman as if they do everything, and there is never any mention of a man, it gets old. When commercials make men look like crying baby’s literally and get by with it, it’s gone to far. Just like Palin last night, she talk to Joe like he was a little boy…”Oh come on now Joe, let’s not talk like that, as if she was his mother, shaming him….then he sheepishly smiles back, like oh- you caught me mommy, it sickens me….

It's almost 2009, woman still want it both ways, they want equality and crack that "glass ceiling" which does not exist, but they think it does- Woman still get almost in every case custody of kids in our court system in a separation/divorce. Woman still get child care as a result, men get to pay...pay...pay. While woman, get free ride back into the work force after having the kid, they get the SUV, they get the house and the man gets kicked to the curb, and then society says, if YOU’RE A MAN you will take care of your children, but you don’t see the woman paying, OH my personal favorite is, when you hear a woman who is married talk about “her” kids, it’s always her kids, it’s never their kids. Just because the child comes out of her, makes her have all the rights? Ludicrous.

If a man is a stay at home dad like me, tries to re-enter the work force he has no chance especially in this day and age of affirmative action which said another way is, white-males getting the shaft when it comes to getting jobs or equal domestic rights.

Nothing equal about that.

I don't like either Presidential candidate, McCain will be a lame duck president only running for one term, just to cap off his career and add another feather in his cap and has nothing to do with our countries betterment, I hate the idea that he added a woman for "window dressing" all she is, is a pretty face and mouth piece to insure he get's woman’s votes, pure and simple pandering. gag me...

Barack will end up president, the ultimate affirmative action, OUR COUNTRY IS IN DEEP TROUBLE EITHER WAY.

I love the idea that when you hear woman talk about Palin they say, on one had they want a woman in the white house because it would be good for the country, but then later they say, as a matter of pride, selfishly, say they want to see a woman in that position, just for the sake of it being a woman....LOL...so much for what's best for the country- woman do not make things better for the sake of them being woman-

Although I enjoyed watching the Vice Presidential debate, I was appalled at Sarah Palin’s demeanor.  What is this woman thinking?  She is running for the second highest position in the nation and she has consumed herself with folksy, cutesy, unprofessional mannerisms. Give me a break…”Say it ain’t so Joe”, “Gosh and darn.”  Let’s not forget that crazy looking twitch she has in her right eye that she attempts to pass off as a cute wink.

Getting back to the debate, it clearly appeared that she and her debating staff created small speeches based on the topics that they knew would be asked.  This is the reason why she could not make direct answers to any of the questions; they were just small speeches that were locked into her short-term memory.  That is why Sarah looked and acted as if she was having a brain-dump.  Sarah consistently rushed through her answers because she knew her knowledge was merely information that was crammed into all that space in her head. For this reason, Sarah’s head was overloaded and was in desperate need of dumping information from her brain.

Moreover, Sarah Palin give women that are real, smart, and strong a very bad name. Instead of her famous one-liner “Drill-Baby-Drill”, it should be changed to “run-Sarah-run.”  Go home Governor Palin and deal with your kids, husband, and the criminal investigations lodged against you.

Finally, if you take a look at John McCain’s actions and behavior over the course of his election campaign, it becomes clear that he is in the first stages of Alzheimer’s and should submit to a series of tests. His brain cells are becoming annihilated, which is causing problems with his memory, thinking and behavior. This eradication is severe enough to affect his work, and his work could very-well be the President of the United States.  Let’s keep it real… if this man was thinking with a full deck of unwrinkled cards, he would have chose Mick Romney or Dr. Condoleezza Rice, or anyone else for that matter with real qualifications as his running mate, instead he chose to exploit a knucklehead (Sarah Palin), who in return will embarrass not only herself but the United States as well.

Biden won the debate, however Palin did better than anyone expected.  I was out with a group of 10 women this morning, some support Obama some support Mcain and others are undecided.  Everyone agreed she did fine but we all found her to be annoying.  She seemed like she was trying to be to cutesy.  It seemed like an act to us.

I wonder what the right-wingers will have to say about this, if it's true? I wonder if they will still be so forgiving if the father is black?

I would like for the spin doctors to realize that Palin's stupid antics, such winking, got ya , bet ya and all that garbage is truly an insult to the intelligence of all women. Especially, we who live both in the country vs. city, south vs north, east or west.  We don't appreciate the degrading manner in which she presented herself.  Those antics might play WELL in a bar North of Nome, just NOT WHEN the voters are being asked to elect the LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD.  George Bush was embarrassing enough as an image around the world, WE DON'T NEED TO BE FURTHER EMBARRASSED.

The master McCain and the student Sarah Palin defeated.

Sarah tried hardly to memorize the notes transcribed for her by her republican coach. But the machine did not work well, as expected. The score of the game for two seasons of debates comes down at two to zero, for Obama / Biden.

Sarah must understand that talking without saying anything is not a good strategy to win a debate or even an election.

Playing a comedy, humor and the emotional card can never save McCain. Everyone has his humor and his different background to share. Sarah must, like Biden, know how to give answers, answers, answers and answers, and again, knowing to respond short and with precision and intelligence.

Against Joe Biden, Sarah did not respond to any question, as in her failed interviews before the debate. Sarah Palin use to make rhetoric but empty of substance, structure and coherence.

Politics is about knowledge of issues and never about the emotional and empty words. The McCain bracelet and "a mother in the kitchen around the table with her kids! Wow. Obama has also a bracelet. Biden also knows how to raise kids without a mother. You see, that emotional arrow doesn’t work!

IN ALL SEN.JOSEPH BIDEN DELIVERED 35 YEARS OF LOGIC AND FACTS,WHILE GOV. SARAH PALIN MAINLY DELIVERED PERSONALITY AND OPINIONS.

PEOPLE. NOBODY CARES WHO WON THE PERSONALITY PAEGANT. I NEED SOLUTIONS ON HOW THIS COUNTRY IS GOING TO ECONOMICALLY STAND IN THE FUTURE, THAT'S WHAT DEBATES SHOULD MOSTLY BE CONSISTED OF. SHE ONLY DELIVERED BETTER FOR HER REPUTATION, NOT FOR SEN. MCCAIN. ALL THAT SHE SAID LAST NIGHT, WAS FOR THE KATIE COURIC INTERVIEW, NOT FOR THE DEBATE. AND THE "WHITE FLAG" SURRENDER COMMENT, ALONG WITH IGNORANCE OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, TAXES, AND HER ONLY BEING COMFORTABLE TALKING ABOUT ENERGY  DOESN'T QUALIFY HER TO RUN FOR VICE PRESIDENT.

The house and senate versions of the bailout bill have to be the same to be signed into law - I believe the house version was different,  so the senate must vote on it before Bush signs off. Does anyone know if the bills were exactly the same? And../. can you believe Bush just left for Crawford to take a vacation -- hope he vacations until the end of his term

Quite honestly I could care less if Palin is more "people friendly" and considered to be another "round the way girl."  I don't want a "round the way girl" making any decisions on my behalf or the country for that matter on important issues that may affect my life and the many generations to follow.  If that was the case I'd elect my BFF to run for VP...no thank you!  Yes she did better than a lot of us expected because we expected her to fall flat on her butt, but the fact that she stayed in a vertical position was amazing to us all.  Biden was very clear in his reponse to the questions asked, he didn't stumble and although he was not his typical pit bull self...he still took a chunk out of her and McCain. Her language alone was enough to make me want to hit the mute button when she was speaking..."Gosh Darn it!"  Had that been Obama on that stage with all that Hillbilly jibberish and sending shouts out he would of been eaten alive.  Seriously...who sends a shot out during a debate?!?  Actually as a divorced woman with 2 kids and now raising them alone, I definately relate more with Biden than Palin on any given day.

Palin didn't really answer the questions and twisted a lot of Bidens answers.  She kept going on & on OFF topic.  The health care plan McCain is proposing was blown out of the water by Biden.  And Biden's emotional comment about watching his wife and child dying in the hospital and the composure it took really hit home for me.  I know middle class people who are working at jobs that don't offer insurance, can't afford it, won't qualify for it, and will find it hard to get coverage under the McCain plan, or will have to trade it in for something less, don't qualify for the tax credit or they will find some pre exsisting condition NOT to cover people.  Other's make too much to qualify for welfare, yet not enough to get insured.  There is no "marveick reform" just political talk and well rehersed words on Palin's side.  Where was the great reformist who said NO to the Bridge and Yes to the bailout, with pre conditions...i.e. wooden arrow pork barrels!  What about walking the walk Sarah, instead of avoiding the issues?   Biden really held his ground and knew what he was talking about and was also humble and respectful during the whole debate, which moved him up in my regard.  I think the debate did, however, answer questions on who is more ready and knowlegable and experienced.  Obama/Biden has won both debates in my opinion and answered questions both Palin & McCain clearly avoided.  I look forward to the next Obama/McCain debates coming up.  A lot can change and I want to listen to all of it so that I will make a rational vote in November.  I'm leaning toward the Obama/Biden ticket, but a lot can happen between now and then and I will contiune to listen to both sides respectfully.

I would like to know if this package HAD to be passed, and all these extras were placed in the package that seemingly had benefited one state head’s interest or another.  Why every state head couldn't just insist something be worded in the package in the interest of their individual states. Was there BLACK-MAIL, PAY-OFFS, PROMISES made for their votes or non-vote?  I will never understand.

At least if tax payers could not get individual relief of some sort.  Our residing states could have benefited from it as whole.  Like police force care, corrections care this, big sisters big brothers, more this, and more that.  Allow everyone to benefit somehow, someway.  At least we wouldn't feel so abused by our government.

I will never understand that.... but, I understand that something crooked happened someplace with some people.  I ask now, were they really thinking about all tax-payers or themselves and the select few of their own choices to only directly or indirectly benefit them now, and in the long run?

I question is there really anyone in Washington putting Country First other than our current family in the Military and the lost soldiers which are our children, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, Our family, that have died.  Washington, they gave their lives for things to be better in our Country and you currently do them no honor.  Shame on all of you Washington...Shame on you!

Palin babbled throughout the debate, her answers reminded me of a scatched record constantly repeating the same thing. She is empty of thought and shows no command of the most important issues of the day. And although as a woman I wanted her to succeed, I cannot get over the fact that she is useless without her notes. She could not even define what the role of the Vice President is without looking down to check her rehearsed and prepared notes. I am sorry , but the Katie Couric interview has been etched in my mind and the McCain/Palin ticket has been erased out. I had to finally admit that McCain showed poor judgment in picking Palin. I would urge her to try again in 2012 and maybe I will have more respect for her knowledge then. But for now I'd wish she would just go away. Maybe if I "wink," she will be gone.

Why is everyone so afraid to state the obvious?!  SARAH PALIN is not, on ANY level, qualified to be Vice President of the United States!  We can only hope "Joe six-pack" is smarter than she makes him out to be, and that he realizes EIGHT YEARS of mismanagement is enough!  The Republican Party never has, and never will, care as much about the Middle or Lower Classes than they do about the MEAGA-CORPORATIONS (and their CEO's) that keep them in power!

Subject: Important question- Where is the money coming from?

Received from a friend. . .

This election has me very worried.  So many things to consider.  About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than.  I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another.  I must say this drives my husband crazy.  But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with.  About six months ago, I started thinking 'where did the money come from for Obama'.  I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight.  We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California.  He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan.  During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a 'round the world' trip.  Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family.  My question - Where did he get the money for this tr ip?  Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college.  When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York.  It is at this time he  wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry.  Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia?  It's not cheap! to say the least.  Where did he get money for tuition?  Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year.  Why Chicago?  Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By 'chance'  he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago.  Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year.  Rezko, was named 'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association'.  About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School.  Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School?  Where did he get the money for Law School?  More student loans?  After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down.  But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what?  They represented 'Rezar' which Rezko's firm.  Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago.  In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with 'seed money'  for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price).  With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property?  On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased.  Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President.  Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss.  She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first.  Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran!  Do we see a pattern here?  Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was 'sacked' after the press found out he was having regular contacts with 'Hamas', which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran.  This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan?  They are in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign contribution for Obama.  Where is that money coming from?  The poor and middle class in this country?  Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news.  On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on 'This Week' with George Stephanapoulos.  Obama on talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim faith'.  When questioned, 'he made a mistake'.  Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line.  If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the enemy from within'!!!

Why is Barack Obama's religion so interesting to everyone?  Is John's McCain's religion on trial?  Or is it just assumed that he's Christian?  Is it Barack Obama's name?  Who cares about his travels 20+ years ago?  I don't.  At the best, it makes him well travelled and worldly.  At the worst, maybe he was converted to the Nation of Islam...if he's a good sensible man...is his religion really that important?  Let's just be sensible as well and if you do some research you'd find that John McCain wants to ship illegal aliens...just hispanic, back to their countries, calls Asians "Gooks" and he can't look a black man in his eyes...Does that make him racist?

Oh, and most of his funding came from money that he saved...and family.  Maybe even friends...could've been "bad friends".  All of us have friends that have questionable pasts, do we just ban them from our friendship circle?  Nope...Let's do some research honestly...unbiased research.

I, as an American, have the right to hear Senator Obama’s response to all of the, as he calls them, “guilt by association tactics from the McCain party”.  Anyone can find this information by researching the news media, I have and was unbelievably disappointed that the media had not reported it and had not held Senator Obama accountable.

It would be different if there were just one questionable association or comment.  There are so many; like you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish, I’m embarrassed that Americans don’t speak more languages; ties to Ayers and Ayers ties to Chavez; the Obama song; the ties to the housing meltdown and Acorn; lack of honoring the American flag and the National Anthem; Edward and Mariam Sail; Allison S. Davis; Tony Rezko; Rashid and Mona Khalidi (Arab American Action Network) and Senator Obama’s home; last but not least Senator Obama’s wife stating that for the first time she is proud to be an American. Fox News did a segment Sun. night that revealed many more radical associations.

When you are running for the highest elected office you know that your background, association and values will be scrutinized.  Senator Obama cannot continue to excuse his actions as they were taken out of context or I was friendly with them but they do not advise me.  If Senator Obama cannot clearly convey his message to the American people how can the American people expect him to communicate our best interest to the rest of the world?

As far as the Economy, both parties have admitted that it was caused primarily by the sub-prime mtg. crisis.  Let the American people know what party was in control and what party continuously attempted to stop the crisis.

I am sick and tired of lies, twisted truths, and the dishonorable behavior of our politicians.  We have no consumer protection in this country from food commercials to the lies told on the campaign trail.

Do we really want liars in the White House or our local governments?  We need to change the laws that allow politicians to be dishonest.  We must have consumer protection in the most important thing we do as citizens--voting!

Tomorrow is the second debate and living in Nashville I am anxious to hear and listen to the issues- however; since it takes an arm and leg to get into the debate- the typical American voter wont hear questions that need to be answered. I recall how early in the primaries the politicians said that they wouldn't "get dirty" yet isnt' that exactly what McCain has started.. I was hoping that this would actually be a "clean" election.. Yet somewhere it got lost in the paperwork.

People are concerned about the facts concerning and involving Americans today not something that happened over 40 years ago.. If McCain and Palin have to resort to these tactics- then what does that say about "lying" to the people.. weren't they lying when the said that they wouldn't play dirty?

They the pundits should bring up the concept of McCain's character and his reknown character as womanizer(shows looser but no maverick), adulterer, abandoned his young family for a younger woman almost 20 years younger than he. Not only did he leave his first wife after she was injured severly in a car accident and who gained weight from her rehab despite all the while he McCain couldn't move his shoulders and walked like he still was injured because of all the scar tissue present - he left his wife but while he was still married to wife one he found his current wife who believes God can hold at bay Hurricanes but she cannot control her own ethical behaviour that is not controlled by Man. ie she commited adultery is has to do with those 10 commandments from the guy she thinks can push away a hurricane. How ignorant really.

McCain has had Cancer 4 times and recently he had a deep episode of skin cancer on his cheek removed and that particular type of Cancer which is a Malignant Melanoma as reported by Dr. Sanjay Gupta can re-occur and in all probability re-occur.

If any good man who has any ethics of good character would not leave a young family breaking his vows after his wife and family waited for him for 5 years to come back from war then to add insult to injury he hooks up with a gal who is ever so God fearing who doesn't question the fact that he is still married and has children and not only dates him during this time but marries him when he's still legally married to his first wife. (as presented on CNN) Doesn't this mean that his current wife isn't Legally his wife?

Moreover his Cancer can and will in all liklehood reappear in the next few years or sooner and further potentially incapacatating him during a period of the worst economic periods in the THE USA since the great depression. McCain cannot remember how many homes he has I can't afford my one. While I have a Science degree I now work at a retail store for 1/10 what I should be making a Canadian firm has offered me 2/3 of what I should be earning and will give me health care and a full drug plan at no extra cost to me.

It's easy for a multi millionaire to claim to be in syhch with a regular joe but a guy who owns one house knows more of what I'm going through and I with the potential of loosing everything would withdraw my services if my health would impede my ability to do my job just look at McCain and you quickly see he is frail how is he going to physically withstand a presidency when men far younger than him aged incredibly during their presidency. Given the trend as an algorythm McCain is destined to demise during a potential presidency.

D

His current smear job of the so called "domestic terrorist" maybe if you live in a remote town in a tundra like environment with only a 1000 people where Moose outnumber people in a 200 mile radius then some 60's protester would be a "domestic terrorist" but to those of us from that decade-give me a break he may have threatened but if he were any kind of terrorist he would be in prison especially during the Bush days. Palin's belief that the entire universe was created 4000 years ago, and on youtube you can see her talking to God real time my goodness she could be the president in 2 years after McCain is terminal(this is very likely given his health and re-occuring Cancer- I in no way wish or hope I'm correct in this assertion but it has to be asked)

On energy, neither Obama or McCain said anything about mass transportation. This must grow to do anything about oil use. Maybe a gas guzzler tax should be proposed to act as a usage tax for less fuel efficient cars so those that want them and can afford them continue to do so- at a price. Also, many states have emission standards and inspections. This would get some older vehicles off the road. Nuclear power should learn from the people of France- where plants are built to a more standardized design unlike the US which has many dissimilar plants. Easier to build, maintain and repair. On health care, no one seems to want to take on the insurance companies, the AMA, and the drug companies. If a politician were to say, Look, doctors don't need to make half a million a year, these same doctors would not fund that person's campaign. Or the drug company profits. For many Americans the insurance company pays the bill for medications so who cares if they make too much money? We couldn't get tort reform so lawyers are free to pursue multimillion dollar lawsuits- which we all eventually pay for in the form of higher premiums. So the doctors are left to earn much more than most people and the nurses do the work. On the economy, I read a long time ago that there are three things that create wealth- mining, manufacturing, and agriculture. We in the US are now a service economy. We are strong on agriculture, not as strong on mining; and getting weaker every day in manufacturing. Our factories are now in China; and every night, while we sleep, the pollution from their coal-fired economy creeps over the Pacific and one day will choke us all unless we do something!

Now it is become very evident to see who Senator McCain is. From my perspective he is nothing then a begat who cannot even have the decency to respect another colleague by call him “that one”. Although the media plays it down to say that this is his strategy to take on his opponent I find this hard to believe. Two examples to prove this are not true; he didn’t behave that way in the primary when all the republican senators were white. Also do we all remember the bill of making the death of Martin L. King a Holiday?  Although he apologized when he needed the votes of the black people, but should we trust someone of this character to be our leader?

just my thoughts...i really think the democrats should not brush this off...i have been on numerous blogs.. I just want to know why the republicans are  using these baseless attacks against obama...such as ayers and acorn...first, i find it irresponsible for members of the republican party to not only call ayers a 'terrorist' and try to link him to obama(when he was 8 years old) but it's contradicts their 'country first' slogan...i guess my thoughts and suggestions to the democrats that have a voice in the media.....if ayers is a terrorist..why is he allowed to instruct in a major university in the united states? finally, if candidates' past are being judged with their ability to lead the country...then why is there not an investigation into sarah palin's affiliation with the alaskan independence party and their goal to secede from the united states? i mean isn't that treason? i wish the democrats that are on these talk shows such as the view, analysts, even strategists would please bring up these valid points...i don't think it's a desperate cheap shot to smear someone's character...but just the notion that  her husband aka the 'first dude' was affiliated with this party...i think just being affiliated with this group is not only unpatriotic and anti-government but a breach in national security... very serious...comparison to a professor's indifference to another unpopular war...and a frustrated man's rant in a speech.

just my thoughts.

If the US doesn't want Obama as a president, then I for one would like to see him come to Canada.  We'll take him!

If Obama doesn't get elected, it won't be because he isn't qualified or because of color.  The US isn't ready for his type of politics that he ascribes to - forward and progressive thinking in a positive, down to earth, statesmanship with a light sprinkle of JFK.

Obama, in my humble opinion, has a lot of grit and spirit, not to mention that he doesn't allow his mouth to rule his brain.  For example - he just won't get into the septic pit with Senator McCain.

Was I the only who took note of Cindy McCains post-debate actions?  While Michelle Obama was quite open in her greeting of the people attending the debate.  Cindy McCain seemed almost frightened and avoided shaking hands and greeting people.  She "shadowed" her husband around the floor.  As an avid observer of people - I definitely don't think someone like her deserves to be FIRST LADY of our country.  I can't see her representing the confident women of our country if she is as insecure and frightened as she came off, or was it even worse - ARROGANCE?

Why did he leave without shaking Obama Hand? Sounds like a sore looser to me, he didn't even stick around to answer the people unanswered questions or have potential supporters give their comments about him on this debate. He left a lasting impression that was not positive at all, it said that ( I do not care about you, all i want is your vote! Anything outside of that I care nothing about).

Forks, have you watched the Bio of Palin? She had a history to BETRAY HER MASTERS.

Also, she has a lot of "GOOD FRIEND" like  Sen. Ted Stevens who helps to meet a lot of Washington insiders; and who helps her hire lobbyist to get earmark money.

She got $976 million dollars for Alaska last 2 years.... my goodness she is the BIGGEst GOLD DIGGER in the world.

Therefore, I think she is hurting and dangerous to Mcc.

will suffer big pain on this woman since she had a history to betray her MASTERS. She betrayed her former Mayor who she met at the gym who invite her to work for him. After 1 year , she kicked him out of the Mayor's office.

2 years later, she meet the Governor and he ask her to work for him at the Oil&Energy department, 1 year later, she kicked him out of that office. but, I just wonder, why the Governor hug her and said 'are you happy? are you ok?

we will do everything to get you elected' -

A week after the debate, I find myself appalled at the McPalin (McCain & Palin) campaign tactics as well as the way the media is covering the issue. As an independent, I find McPalin to be atrotious. To raise the issue of someone's patriotism, to accuse them of being a terrorist due to association with a man who years ago protested against the Vietnam war (...he was never convicted of terrorism) and who is a bona fide professor in a university - today - is ridiculous. What happened to talking about the issues? To trying to win fair and square? Totally, the media along withe McPalin is showing the world that the USA has risen to an all time low.

....Palin, 44, lists in a March financial disclosure form an annual income of $125,000 as governor of Alaska. Her husband, Todd, earned $47,000 as an oil production supervisor for BP Alaska in 2007 and $46,000 as commercial fisherman. They also list no credit card debt.An SUV paid off by Wacilla City.

McCain's has assets of between $34 million and $49 million and liabilities of between $4.3 million and $5.8 million, according CFRP.

Those liabilities include American Express platinum and Chase Bank credit cards held by Cindy McCain and some of the McCain children.

The McCains' assets include real estate holdings in Sedona, Phoenix and elsewhere, investment funds, Anheuser Busch Companies Inc. (NYSE: BUD ) stock, ownership stakes in the Hensley beer distribution company and Cindy McCain's inheritance from a family trust. Cindy McCain, 54, and the McCain children are also partners in a number of limited liability partnerships and corporations that own real estate in Arizona and California . The McCains file separate tax forms but U.S. Senate financial disclosure protocols combine spousal wealth. Hensley is one of the largest Anheuser Busch distributors in the country.

''All Arizonans should be proud and supportive of this remarkable woman,'' he said.

I don't want to be rude, but: Why?

Not, I think, because she's a drug addict and an admitted thief.

McCain revealed this week that she was addicted to pain pills for two years. She also said she stole drugs from an organization she created to provide emergency medical services around the world.

McCain said she started taking pills - eventually up to 15 or 20 a day - in 1989 after surgery left her in pain. She was also bearing the stress of the harsh publicity over the McCains' link to convicted financier Charles Keating Jr.

She said she's remained drug-free since 1992, with one brief lapse.

Hers is a sad tale, but hardly distinctive; addiction and thievery are pretty common these days.

In fact, about one of every four inmates in Arizona 's bloated, fantastically expensive prison system is locked up on drug charges. That, by the way, is thanks to mindlessly punitive anti-drug policies supported by officials like, well, like Sen. McCain and Gov. Symington.

But don't worry, Cindy McCain won't go to prison. Prison is for bad people, not for those with ''health problems.''

So. Maybe we're supposed to be proud of McCain simply for admitting her misdeeds.

Maybe. Except that her addiction apparently was something a lot of people knew about and that was likely to become broad public knowledge soon anyway.

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration had been investigating, and a former employee of McCain's medical team had filed a lawsuit against her over the issue.

McCain herself reportedly said that her motive in going public was to beat the rumor mill.

So it can't be that either. Should we be proud at the bold way McCain went public?

Don't think so. Guided by an entourage of advisers, McCain cleverly pre-empted bad publicity by breaking the news through a selected handful of media outlets.

She did this only after completing private treatment, and only after reaching an agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office that ensured she would not be prosecuted if she entered a diversion program.

So why are we supposed to be proud of Cindy McCain?

Answer: We're not.

Sympathetic, supportive, tolerant - sure. I don't doubt McCain's physical and mental pain, the power of her addiction, the remorse she feels.

But proud? Sorry.

That suggestion, I'm afraid, is the product of ''spin,'' of a careful campaign to deflect public attention away from the awkward facts of addiction and theft, and onto the appealing made-for-TV drama of confession.

A campaign, in other words, to limit the political damage.

It is, once again, the ritualized praising of a celebrity criminal - based upon the murky idea that members of the elite ''suffer'' enough merely by admitting guilt.

To which I say: No sale.

Not that I want Cindy McCain to go to jail. I'm not even sure she should be punished; if we imprisoned all the secret addicts among Arizona 's privileged classes, we'd need more prisons than even Sam Lewis could dream of.

I just wonder why we should be praising her while siccing the cops and the media and the child-welfare workers on all the poor Jane Does who turn to crack to cope with their stresses - stresses perhaps worse even than bad press.

I wonder why I couldn't hear our leaders' calls for sympathy and tolerance amid their shouts for heavier weapons and harsher attacks in the War on Drugs.

I wonder about the thousands of noncelebrity wretches struggling alone against alcohol or heroin or whichever ''health problem'' plagues them, ignored if not punished by society.

I wish Cindy McCain well, but I'll save my cheers for them.

You all want to know whats really scary? While everyone is sitting at the dinner table wondering who will be the next guy to trudge on in this moras called American life not many are paying to particular attention to the fact that more attention to the over all picture is not being viewed. Yes the economy is sinking its a hazard of free market. The signs were out there six years ago. People warned about it. But it was pushed aside as doomsday nonsense. Lets get real during the beginning of this campaign of "Lets fix a broken washington" people had seen the sign on the wall but it was just campaign rhetoric, right? Or were those senators in the know about something that was affoot? Banks going belly up since Enron? Was that just the beginning of the symptoms of toxic shock in the markets? I would that the candidates focus more on the problems of the country before doing anything about whats outside our borders. We are hardly in a position to tell other countries out there how to run themselves when we are falling apart at home. We have huge issues, that are being ignored, domestic issues that need fixing, economics being just one of the biggies. McCain touts he is for country first but I have yet to see him act like he cares. He voted with Bush on a nuke dump in Nevada and then came to Nevada and said he would appose it. He wants to tax health care benifits.. ah for what?  Obama wants to let unions run the job force by doing card checks. Oh please like haven't enough businesses gone oversees trying to out run the long arm of the age old mafia driven clans.. Unions gasp. Increase expense, decrease productivity and eventually eliminate jobs as the factories seek a better way oversees? Yes protect your right to work! Don't let Obama get that bill passed. Don't let Mcsame  tax your health benifits or allow a nuke dump in the country. We can't even police our borders right and he wants to truck dirty nuclear waste accross the country were it will be vulnerable to accidents along the way enrout to Nevada and to anyone with terrorist ideas to get their hands on that stuff. Fear for your lives between point a and point b. We need to address real issues not pet issues that the candidates want to dance around. I have more. What about social issues, employment, health care, equal rights, education? Education in american schools thanks to Bush is a mess. Now schools can worry about their budgets being cut for the love of test scores. UHM! Plan a tests those kids more then you educate them so that they can pass? No how about just educating them to know rather then to just rehash meaningless bits of data for a test? No Child Left Behind Act should be re labled... No Child Knows his left from his right. Social disparities in education are real in inner cities but I will tell you this.. For a public education system to work our tax dollars should be very lucrative in supporting education, not indoctrination and test cramming. Make schools answerable to parents not school boards. Allow teachers to teach and model their programs to the kids needs which are many and varied. Not the fixed rate program of the forties to educate people just enough to produce a factory worker. Make college accessable for all. Now that is something I like about Obama. Being an independent I look at the issues not the party. Lets level the playing feild get those nice rich folks with well loaded wallets paying taxes like the rest of us working americans. Let the money flow. And above all lets not be greedy that after all is a blight in the free market world called capitalism, greed. We need a great deal more self restraint on the home level as well as in the corporate level. We all need to stop over spending where our income cannot go. Don't take every credit card offered, don't spend more then you make, don't by impulsively when you cannot afford to. Don't borrow money unless its for a home or a car unless you know you can repay it right away. Do you think these banks would have gotten so bent out of shape if the american people were more frugal and expeditious about how they treated their money? It's a tool to take care of you so we all need to take good care of it. The economic crisis is more or less in shambles because all of us have gotten way out of hand with how we treat our finances. We are all to blame. So we must likewise all fix our own homes, financially even as we demand that banks do theirs. We must fix this mess because we are the power. The candidates we hire are just part of the solution or the problem only as long as "We the People " allow them or ourselves to move to better our situation.

No nations on earth at the present is going to respect us "america" if we can't take care of our business in home, community, and country, before we go out and start telling them how to run their show. No nation on earth has ever been able to be a superpower with shoddy economics either. If we want to stay on the top of the game we better improve our stratagy at home and do it on every level from the home hearth to the pulpits to the chairs of our respective governing officials. Every level has to do better at raising the bar in our conduct and doings if we are to pull out of this. If not well then the weight of all the wrongs done will fall on our heads universally and we only have our selves to blame.

My husband and myself put real money in our 401k.  It was very hard to do this and live a normal life, why are people acting like this is nothing.  We don't work any more and will not recoup our losses and may not have enough money to last us until we die.  This was a goverment plan to do away with pensions to help big business.  Well guess who was taken advantage of the American people.  I thank CNN for posting the pictures of the guys that got away with our money I am just concerned how they can sleep at night knowing that they actualy robbed old people of there life saving's.

Obama's 95% Illusion

By Editorial, Wall Street Journal

October 13, 2008

Article Excerpt

One of Barack Obama's most potent campaign claims is that he'll cut taxes for no less than 95% of "working families." He's even promising to cut taxes enough that the government's tax share of GDP will be no more than 18.2% -- which is lower than it is today.

It's a clever pitch, because it lets him pose as a middle-class tax cutter while disguising that he's also proposing one of the largest tax increases ever on the other 5%. But how does he conjure this miracle, especially since more than a third of all Americans already pay no income taxes at all? There are several sleights of hand, but the most creative is to redefine the meaning of "tax cut."

For the Obama Democrats, a tax cut is no longer letting you keep more of what you earn. In their lexicon, a tax cut includes tens of billions of dollars in government handouts that are disguised by the phrase "tax credit." Mr. Obama is proposing to create or expand no fewer than seven such credits for individuals:

A $500 tax credit ($1,000 a couple) to "make work pay" that phases out at income of $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 per couple.

A $4,000 tax credit for college tuition.

A 10% mortgage interest tax credit (on top of the existing mortgage interest deduction and other housing subsidies).

A "savings" tax credit of 50% up to $1,000.

An expansion of the earned-income tax credit that would allow single workers to receive as much as $555 a year, up from $175 now, and give these workers up to $1,110 if they are paying child support.

A child care credit of 50% up to $6,000 of expenses a year.

A "clean car" tax credit of up to $7,000 on the purchase of certain vehicles.

Here's the political catch. All but the clean car credit would be "refundable," which is Washington-speak for the fact that you can receive these checks even if you have no income-tax liability. In other words, they are an income transfer -- a federal check -- from taxpayers to nontaxpayers. Once upon a time we called this "welfare," or in George McGovern's 1972 campaign a "Demogrant." Mr. Obama's genius is to call it a tax cut.

The Tax Foundation estimates that under the Obama plan 63 million Americans, or 44% of all tax filers, would have no income tax liability and most of those would get a check from the IRS each year. The Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis estimates that by 2011, under the Obama plan, an additional 10 million filers would pay zero taxes while cashing checks from the IRS.

The total annual expenditures on refundable "tax credits" would rise over the next 10 years by $647 billion to $1.054 trillion, according to the Tax Policy Center. This means that the tax-credit welfare state would soon cost four times actual cash welfare. By redefining such income payments as "tax credits," the Obama campaign also redefines them away as a tax share of GDP. Presto, the federal tax burden looks much smaller than it really is.

The political left defends "refundability" on grounds that these payments help to offset the payroll tax. And that was at least plausible when the only major refundable credit was the earned-income tax credit. Taken together, however, these tax credit payments would exceed payroll levies for most low-income workers.

Jailed Obama Fundraiser Spills the Beans!

Tony Rezko, who helped fund Barack Obama's early campaigns, was

convicted in June of political corruption.

    • FILE ** In this Wednesday, June 4, 2008 file photo, Antoin "Tony"

Rezko returns to the Federal Courthouse where a jury found him guilty

on 16 counts of a 24-count indictment in his corruption trail in

Chicago. Rezko, the Chicago real estate developer who helped launch

Barack Obama on his political career, is whispering secrets to

federal prosecutors about corruption in Illinois and the political

fallout could be explosive.

Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose administration faces multiple

federal investigations over how it handed out jobs and money with

advice from Rezko, is considered the most vulnerable.

Rezko also was friendly with Obama -- offering him a job when he

finished law school, funding his earliest political campaigns and

purchasing a lot next to his house. But based on the known facts,

charges so far and testimony at Rezko's trial, there's no indication

there'll be an October surprise that could hurt the Democratic

presidential nominee -- even though Rezko says prosecutors are

pressing him for dirt about Obama.

Rezko, 53, a real estate developer, was convicted in June of scheming

to use his clout with the Blagojevich administration to squeeze $7

million in kickbacks out of a contractor and seven money management

firms seeking to do business with the state.

Within two months, Rezko was seen in U.S. Attorney Patrick J.

Fitzgerald's office, along with his attorneys.

There has been no official confirmation that Rezko is talking but his

sentencing has been postponed indefinitely and both sides say they are

going to "engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing

postures."

"They never would have delayed the sentencing if he weren't talking

-- it's proof positive," said Jay Stewart, executive director of the

Better Government Association of Chicago.

“The two have known each other for years, starting when Rezko

offered Obama a job after he graduated from Harvard Law School in

1991. Obama didn't take it, but a friendship developed.

The men talked politics frequently and occasionally dined together

with their wives.

In 2005,  (he wasn’t 8 years old then) the Obamas paid $1.65

million for their home near the University of Chicago. The sellers

wanted a parcel they owned next door to sell on the same day, and

Rezko's wife, Rita, was the buyer.

At the request of the Obamas, Mrs. Rezko later sold them a 10-foot

strip of land to enlarge their lot. They paid $104,500.

The deal took place while Rezko was under investigation

And when details of the cozy relationship surfaced, Obama said it was

a "bonehead" error to have asked for the additional land because it

looked like he was getting a favor.

(HE WAS AND HE KNEW IT!)

One witness testified that Blagojevich talked about hiring him for a

major state job while his $25,000 donation to the governor's campaign

fund was lying on the table.

Two attorneys testified that Blagojevich hinted that they could get

lucrative state contracts if they raised money -- possibly for a

future White House campaign.

End of News Clip.

Now, In My Own Words!

Outstanding journalist Jon Christian Ryter has an extremely

insightful expose' on Barack Obama on his Web site at

http://www.jonchristianryter.com/2008/080908.html.  People need to

know all this before it is too late.

Jon Christian Ryter puts out well-researched, reliable information

you will not find in the Democratic lapdog mainstream media.  (Thank

God for the alternative media.)

There is something very nefarious going on.  As just a taste, Mr.

Ryter says:

Why would Saudi Prince Alwaleed or his agent, Dr. Khalid Abdullah

Tariq al-Mansour be interested in funding the college education of a

half-white, half-black Marxist-atheist who claimed to be a born-again

Christian? Likewise, why would an Iraqi-born, Saddam Hussein underling

who was also tied to the Nation of Islam in the United States not only

fund Barack Obama's US Senate race, but kick in what appears to be

$3.5 million (1.8 million) Obama contribution in April, 2007? Could

that explain why citizen-of-the-world presidential candidate Barack

Obama demanded that all Obama Campaign staffers and volunteers not

wear US flag symbols? Or why he removed the US flag from the tailfin

of his campaign jet plane? Or why, candidate Barack Obama refuses to

pay homage to the US flag or the US anthem?

Ryter also provides insights on Obama's birth circumstances, with

evidence that he was really born in Kenya and was not a natural-born

U.S. citizen, ruling him ineligible to be President.  This whole

campaign may be a complete scam and plot to take over the U.S.

government by a Muslim-backed sympathizer.  Once in office, it will

be too late.  The mainstream media would never touch it, as they are

not touching it now.    Americans will have been had.

Please let's saturate the Internet with this information.

McCain and Palin may not be perfect, but at least they are wholesome

and truly patriotic, and not deceptive nor backed by some of the most

evil people in the world, who have an anti-American, anti-biblical

agenda.

God bless America,

B.O. does have some interesting talking points but I thought I would

give the people a spin free pass on them.

He will mandate that citizens and businesses will have to have health

care insurance-translation he will create socialized medicine and

destroy the initiative of the medical innovators and place caps on

all goods and services-bottom line instead of taking on trial lawyers

and the dearth of lawsuits that have crushed the medical complex-he

will expand government roles and create a series of low grade

hospitals akin to the veteran hospitals that are inefficient and

deliver horrible care.

We took the ball of Afghanistan and Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.

free pass for BO on the ignorance factor-Saadaam was a weapon of mass

destruction, sponsored state side terror, paid out PLO extremists with

cash for suicide runs, and provided safe-havens for notorious terror

sponsors and anti-American activities.

BO claims the surge wouldn't work-wrong again-Iraq has made massive

improvements in terms of infrastructure, womens rights, Democratic

principles and establishing rule and order to a land that was ruled

with mass graves, mustard gas, torture, and death to anyone who

opposed Saaddam.

B.O. denigrates our troops and provides the enemy with convenient

timelines so they can prepare to crush us and instigate chaos and

fear.

B.O.favors the death tax, increasing taxes on small business, and has

voted multiple times to increase taxes on capital gains and the

marriage tax-he has the worst record in history with regards to

runaway spending in the current congress and is supported by

lobbyists and special interest groups who have dumped millions into

his campaign and sold this lemon to the unsuspecting american public.

B.O. got into Harvard with the help of the Black Panthers an

anti-white terror organization.

His lovely wife on record has said that she is not proud of this

nation and has been offended by it.

Obama believes that Pakistan should be invaded and will likely plunge

this nation into additional wars rather than trying to win the ones we

are already engaged in.

In summary those who plan to vote for this traitor should know at

least a few facts.

1) you will have socialized medicine and the government like Canada

will choose your Doctor and what type of treatment you will have-your

choices will be limited and many basic services will be terminated for

cost containment-this ain't your daddys healthcare system

2) the national debt will increase by staggering amounts with a

leader who is overwhelmed and underinformed about basic pretenses of

economics-taxing citizens into extinction and increasing welfare

benefits for non-workers as well as drying up jobs and potential is

what BO will rain down on this country

3)Obama has no military experience and worked as a Hyde Park

instigator and bag man in Chicago-his drug use at the time and

anti-american rants with Reverand Wright are legendary and

certifiable

4)B.O. does have a strong track record as a community organizer-keep

in mind that this individual has never introduced one meaningful Bill

in Congress and is the least expeienced candidate for president in the

history of this country.

i'll give you the rest of the story.

This guy is a complete disaster. his roots in Chicago are all about

crime and sleasy politics and highly questionable associations with

Bill Ayers, terrorists, black panthers, anti Americans like reverand

wright as well as Farrakhan, and Kwame Kilpatrick and Michael Moore

and Jane Fonda.

B.O. protests the war and the American way of life.

I protest him and those who seek to destroy the principles that this

country was built on.

Some of us see through this liberal crap and non-sense.

Others are like leemings waiting to be lead and let Government bail

people out of messess that The democratic Congress created.

God help this nation if this man is president.

A N T I - A M E R I C A N =Barak Hussein Obama

Quote from the mouth of Sen. Obama himself from Sundays Meet the

Press:

"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as

taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to

whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem

itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in

air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and

less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To

Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'We should

consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our

Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if

elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle

East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct

ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a

state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I

become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities

between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a

freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have

placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife

disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I

have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years

ago. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the

people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our

Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the

United States of America." unquote.

Obama won my vote, hands down.  McCain looked like he was grasping at straws, taking a shot whenever he could.  I want a President who is cool, calm and collective when under pressure.  Sen. Obama answered what he could without making empty promises, and he also stated that his VP selection was due to the fact the he (BIDEN) is on the same page as Sen. Obama, if anything were to happen to him as Presiden. Sen. Biden will carry on in the same manner. Furthermore, I would like to inform Sen. McCain that, if you would like to cobra your health insurance after you have lost your job, is COSTS $1200.00, which like Sen. Obama stated, will cost the American people $12,000 + a year for HEALTH INSURANCE.

Even the Evil men of Beliel want to make themselves look religious and just and pray for Profit in times of trouble.

My First Sergeant one time told me an honest and true observation. He said, “I don't understand the Mercy of God. While standing at the Door of the Plane ready to jump into Battle in Vietnam, I converted a lot of my men to Christianity, they all wanted to pray then, but the moment my Lord delivered their butts from the danger they were facing, they all turn around, and live like the Devil.”

The thing is, King David ran into the same thing when an enemy captured his Wives and his men's Wives. There were Evil men of Beliel that fought along side of David, that did the same thing. The reason that they cannot honestly get straightened out on any Issue, is that the Evil men of Beliel walk by their own sparks, instead of becoming a fire kindled by Yahweh, and that is what is happening now in this time of trouble, even the Evil want to pray and become Religious for their own Profit, like they did along side of David. Yahweh showed me the men of Beliel all huddled together with me, all dressed like me, and all laboring on the same thing.

So because Yahweh showed me this and I wrote the visions out, in 2003 I warned both the Tax and Spend Democrats and the Borrow until Economic Collapse Republicans, that because of the way that they were Regulating Trade instead of giving us a Free Market Economy, the President needed to find a way of stopping the Global Great Merchants from taking their Investments and our Resources out of America, and leaving us High and Dry, because I told them we were led into Iraq with false Intelligence Reports, so that our enemies could destroy us from another angle. But they sided with the Foreign and Domestic Enemies of our Republic among the Global Great Merchants taking over our Political Parties and our Intelligence Agencies and our Industrial Military Complexes and or Religions and our Media, and they helped them set me up with false and twisted accusations, and take my Liberty, and forced Mind Control Drugs upon me, and seriously harmed me, and nearly killed me.

I rewrote much of this, and I added many things here and there, that I believe will help you all to understand the problems that we all face, and I offer everyone a way out, since for Greed for more Possessions and Power, the Global Great Merchants of Babylon that own and or control the Systems that they use to Rule over us, have decided to not change in any Course of Direction that would give us all Liberty, and have decided to quicken the pace of their own Selfish and Greedy Course towards the destruction of all our Lives, and towards the destruction of all of our Liberty, and towards the destruction of all our Pursuit of Happiness. Their own Deceitful, Selfish, Greedy, and Violent Course, is going to eventually destroy them, but we need to get as many out of the Way of their fall as possible, to Save them from their Destruction, as they cause across the entire Face of the Globe, the Destruction of the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet!

Why isn't the media asking more questions about Obama's background? There are some pretty disturbing videos on www.youtube.com that places Obama with some pretty shady characters. For example, Dr. Khalid al-Monsour, Frank Raines, Tony Rozecko and many more. Most of which are either Muslim or radical extremist.

Isn't any of this worth looking into? Doesn't any of the accusations concern any of you? I know alot of people, including myself, that would like answers to these questions. Are these not legitimate questions.

Here's an issue that may be news worthy. See link below.

i just watched anderson cooper and found it comical to see "breaking news" on a story about sarah palin's travel expenses concerning her family.also they covered clothing expenses.my husband and i agreed it would be funny if it was not so serious that a news network is so obviously in the tank for obama and does not fairly tell the full truth on both sides.where's the breaking news story on william ayer?obama's explanation of "he's someone who lives in my neighborhood" sure does'nt cut it.you don't blurb someone's book unless you know them fairly well.and that's only one example of his association with him.and william ayers is an admitted terrorist and identifies with marxism by his own admission.so keep on talkin about sarah's clothes and her family's travel expenses, because it only highlights the fact there is no dirt on her,so you focus on the absurd while ignoring the many elephants in the room on the obama side.i believe the american people deserve the whole story, but there not gettin it from cnn.

Is it the Government and the big Oil boys fooling us here?!

The whole media is on obama bandwagon

report shows John McCain's media coverage has been 57 percent negative, while Barack Obama's has been 29 percent negative.

AP

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

NEW YORK -- John McCain may long for the days when Barack Obama got the lion's share of the media attention: Coverage of the Republican candidate has been overwhelmingly negative since the conventions ended, a study released Wednesday found.

The Project for Excellence in Journalism's report illustrates how the media echo chamber can send things spiraling out of control for a candidate. It's likely to give ammunition to people who say the press has been biased against McCain, but the organization said its findings on this were inconclusive.

"It's quite possible for there to be elements of enthusiasm for one candidate or another," said Tom Rosenstiel, director of the Washington-based think tank. "That's a failure of professionalism if it's there. But this report can't suss it out."

McCain and Obama have received an equal amount of media attention since the conventions.

The project judged 57 percent of the stories about McCain as negative, with 14 percent positive. The rest were neutral.

Obama's coverage was mixed: 36 percent positive, 29 percent negative, 35 percent neutral, the study found.

"I guess it's inevitable, but it does reflect the relentless degree to which winning begets winning," Rosenstiel said. "The polls are so ubiquitous that it is difficult for them not to be the picture frame through which the press views everything."

McCain's poll numbers have been sinking. As a result, many of the stories about him are about why his poll numbers are sinking -- and how whatever he says or does is an attempt to stop his poll numbers from sinking, he said.

The economic crisis, and McCain's response to it, also played poorly for him in the press. His attempt to deflect attention with attacks on Obama and his ties to 1960s radical William Ayers did even worse, the study found. During this time, news organizations also did critical fact-checks on some McCain ads, including one on Obama and sex education.

Changes in the media have also heightened the sense of piling on, Rosenstiel said. There are more polls to report on, hence more stories to say McCain is doing poorly in them. The 24-hour news networks are paying a great deal of attention to the campaign because it gets ratings, making for more repeating of stories done elsewhere, he said.

The cable networks have been showing off new iPhone-like technology that allows them to pull up maps of the country and data, and the electoral maps haven't been good for McCain.

Financial cutbacks also mean less time for news organizations to do enterprise reporting, again making for more repetition.

Rosenstiel noted that Obama's coverage was negative during the week after the GOP convention, when the surging McCain had the Democrat on his heels and talking about lipstick and pigs. McCain's negative coverage closely tracks the tone of Democrat Al Gore's during the 2000 campaign, he said.

A similar thing happened during the latter stages of Hillary Clinton's campaign against Obama, said David Gregory, host of MSNBC's "Race to the White House."

"There's a lot of focus on the campaign that is in decline to explain why that is happening, and then it becomes in the eye of the beholder whether that is fair or unfair treatment," Gregory said. "The best we can do is challenge both sides substantively."

The McCain campaign did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

Sarah Palin has received three times the press attention as the Democratic vice presidential candidate, Joe Biden, the study found. Her stories were judged 39 percent negative, 33 percent mixed and 28 percent positive.

Palin's coverage started out positive but turned when reporters went to Alaska to check on her record as governor. The study found only 5 percent of the stories were about Palin's family, most of them in the days after it was revealed her daughter was pregnant.

The Project for Excellence in Journalism studied some 2,412 stories from 48 news outlets for its study, including newspapers, Web sites and broadcast and cable news. A smaller sample, 857 stories, was used to judge the tone of the coverage.

I don’t see “honorable” anywhere in the Mcain campaign…The $150,000.00 wardrobe that “the campaign” just treated Sara Palin to would have saved at least one family from foreclosure and losing their home! Now THAT would have been the honorable thing to do

Qoute what was said here in the Netherlands:\

We can change"
