Team iReport hits the road

As the election season enters its final weeks, your friendly iReport.com producers are hitting the highways and byways (well, some of them) of the great United States of America to reach out to iReporters across the country.

We're hanging out with CNN's Election Express Yourself tour, which has been traveling for months already. At each stop, the tour organizers have set up a couple kiosks outside the Airstream trailer where you can step inside and record your video commentary on the election. The videos people are recording are posted on iReport.com for the world to see.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to pack up ungodly amounts of audiovisual equipment and document the tour experience outside the third presidential debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Getting to meet people face-to-face really brought home iReporters' enthusiasm.

The line of people leading up to the trailer was huge and you could have cut the excitement in the crowd with a knife. Students wore campaign shirts and carried signs to show their support for their candidate of choice. Some people even dressed up as polar bears, bananas and chipmunks to draw attention to their cause. Security was tight and officers weren't allowing too many folks into the area, but iReporter James Brierton (Username: jbjimbo ) managed to meet up with us outside the campus and got some footage of a small protest that formed on a street near the debate venue. (You should have seen him sending iReports and then transmitting a live radio broadcast to a local station with his cell phone and his laptop, which he plugged into a random electrical outlet he found.)

There are still more stops on the tour and you'll be able to visit us much more easily given the absence of the requisite security that accompanies the leader of the free world. We can't wait to talk to you and find out how you iReport.

Check out our upcoming stops. The bus just left the Newseum in Washington and here are a couple of the upcoming stops:

October 21: Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio

October 24 and 25: CMJ Music Festival in New York

Hope to see you there! Wear your campaign finest and come out to share your thoughts as November 4 draws ever closer.

I hope that iReporters get to some of the polling stations to get documentation of what is going. The word on CNN and other stations is that new voters are being blocked from voting by some thugs trying to scare them into not voting..Another issue is tampering with the forms and changing a person's party to Republican. This is against the law and I hope this gets exposed. Thanks

I am a black American woman, lawyer, former legislative assistant to Senator Lloyd Bentsen, former law professor at Ohio State University, former senior attorney for the City of New York, and former member of the White House Staff in the Carter Administration. I am well educated, well traveled both domestically and internationally, intellectually honest, and as well exposed to personal and professional relationships with people who are not black as any black person in this country.

I worked hard for Bill Clinton and even raised money for his first campaign. I was an early Hillary Clinton supporter who donated a substantial amount (or me) to her campaign. When Senator Omaba announced his candidacy for the Presidency, I listened long and hard to what he had to say. It was a difficult, even tortuous process, as I took weeks to decide decided whom to support. I listened, read position papers and talked to friends and colleagues before deciding to support Sen. Obama in the Democratic primary contests and in the general election. It was a difficult decision, not because he was black, but because his positions and vision were compelling and Hillary was also a compelling candidate. If Barack Obama is elected, it will be an historic moment for our country representing the dissolution of a major racial barrier, yet that was no part of my decision, at least as far as I can consciously detect. (I pledged my support to Hillary personally and called the campaign daily for about a month in an attempt to explain my decision personally before I told anyone. It was the honorable thing to do. I never received a call back, so I assumed my support was not needed.)

I consider myself to be politically informed, even sophisticated. My friends know my background, my tendency to research issues endlessly, and, my thoughtfulness. Even so, the first person to whom I announced my support of Obama, a "white" friend, who had accompanied me to a Clinton fundraiser (and who now supports Obama), asked me, "Is it because he is black?" I was shocked by the question. Rush Limbaugh's comments really made me think. I knew the race issue would have to be faced in this election to a degree that it has yet to be faced in this election campaign. I believed we would have to confront and deal with our racial issues in order to elect Barack Obama. I believed the race issue would show up in an explosive way. I still believe we can deal with it in a civilized, if not in an entirely respectful, way. I think that may finally be starting now in the late days of this campaign to see the racialism that has been under the table, as people who never thought it was remotely possible for Barack Obama to actually win the election begin to wake up to that real possibility. I suspect (and acknowledge that I cannot know) that when we ascribe motivations to others, the likely source that informs our view is our own motivations. I suggest that Rush Limbaugh's certainty about Powell's motivation says more about Limbaugh's motivations that it says about Powell's.

More important is the unfortunate superficiality of Limbaugh's view of Powell and my friend's view of me. Surely, I hold my country and my responsibility as a citizen in higher regard than to base my political views simply on race. It is irrefutable that Colin Powell is anything but a thoughtful and loyal patriot. It is the disconnect between who we are and who people think we are that is the great racial divide of our country. It is evidence that no matter how much education, experience and service a black citizen amasses, he or she cannot escape the view of many people that this singular racial characteristic governs our actions and choices.

We will resolve our long standing and deep-rooted racial issues. For good or for bad, it will take people with Rush Limbaugh's views and people with my views telling the truth. We will have to face the truth before we truly move on.  I suppose one could conclude that it makes total sense for a black person to support a black candidate for president because he is black. I suppose there are black people who are doing just that. It makes about as much sense as a white person supporting a white candidate because he or she is white. Many white people in this country have been heard on tv saying they could never vote for a black candidate. They are consequently voting for John McCain because he is white. I suppose the latter happens often enough to make the former seem obvious.

Racial motivations are all about what we suspect about other people.  We are so certain about what we suspect about others that we cannot fathom that anything else can be so. We cannot know what is in another person’s heart. Our national life is shrouded in unspoken motivations that hamper our country’s power both internally and domestically. We will resolve this issue, perhaps not in the next 14 days, but we will resolve it.

Why has Obama not answered any of the questions into his background? There are some pretty shocking, supposed, accusations about his history, associations & money contributed to campaign. Why isn't the media pressing the issue on his background? For instance, ACORN, Dr. Khalid al-Monsour, Frank Raines, Tony Rozecko & many others. Most are radical extremists. Does this not concern anyone?

For an example, check out the link below. There are hundreds more.

I want someone to tell me why "Liberal" has become such a bad word? By its very definition even McCain would be considered a liberal. According to Websters it is an open mindedness to new ideas and tolerance of others views. If we ever needed some open minds to new ideas and views it is now in all the crisis's we are facing. Conservatism is fine in regards to religion, holidays etc. In today's fast and changing world we need new ideas to keep competitive. How many businesses would fail if they stuck to to the same old ideas?

so, How can I delete my videos?

how can I delete my account?

I have written Ireport hundreds of times asking to be deleted from theif dreadful piss poor website, but all I get are computer generated replies telling me about how great Ireport is..

what does a guy have to do do to get his account deleted and to retain back all of the ownership of the content that was posted on this crummy site?

I don't wish to flood Ireport with Porn videos, but if that's what it takes to have my account ended... I will resort to this..

I will post porn uo on every page possible till you suspend me, But what of my ownership of my films that I worked so hard to create. they do not belong to ireport and I do not agree to let ireport distribute them.

first will come the porn, then will come the law suits..
