Week two is underway of getting this stimulus bill passed. I understand that Obama is trying to include the people of the US in his decision but reality is at the moment republicans are going to do everything it takes and find the smallest things wrong with this bill so that it not only does not pass but it also keeps Obama from accomplishing his goals while in office. Republicans continue to say that the bill will be spending unnecessary money, but what do the republicans think the US has been doing for the last eight year. Where were these same republicans when the US was passing unnecessary bills and wasting tone of American dollars down the drain? Oh, that is right they were all on board of the wasting of money! In my opinion, I think that it is time for Obama to pull a "Bush" and veto the bill regardless of what anyone has to say about it! Remember you are the president and you need no one's approval. The US has seen and been through the worse now it is time for us to rise and over come.

Our government is sending millions of dollars out of this country everyday,no argument,no problem.What can government do for homeless,hungry Americans,nothing.CNN needs to tell American people how much money and to whom so we can understand what is really going on.

Why are we already mentioning that Mr. Obama, our president that we all voted for, talking about him failing and not being elected for his 2nd term?  This is not fair for us to prejudge President Obama.  Wake up America!  When those in doubt receive the stimulas check are the doubters going to send it back?  Yeah right!  Put your faith in our new president, at least he is doing what he campaigned to do and that is to make change, work for the people and his motto "YES WE CAN", is something all of us can do if we work with our president and not against him.  It was not President Obama that put our country in economic failure, it is not our new President that caused business's to faile so why is he being mention as a failure, possibly?

Stop free trade! We can tax the imports to bail us out. If its cheaper to make it here we will, then everyone will go back to work. Make it so you must pass random drug tests before getting welfare checks or food stamps.

Instead of buying cars for people who have good jobs and make enough money to buy their own cars, why dont the government buy cars for people who dont have even one?

Why not put another 10billion dollars(ten more wouldn't hurt) into the hands of the people themselves? HELLO? ONE BILLION DOLLARS would be able to give every person in America $1000. Did I calculate correctly. Or instead of buying government employees cars....give every person in the United States 10,000 dollars....I know that there is a risk of giving people money because of drug addicts ....but even drug addicts will spend money on things other than drugs. Even if they do buy drugs, at least their dealers would spend that money in the economy somehow so who cares?

If every person got 10,000 and put it into the economy, many many more jobs would be created and people would get their jobs back and we would see progress. What the government is doing is NOT GOING TO HELP. This is government by the people and for the people....HOW COME THE PEOPLE ARE NOT GETTING THE MONEY THAT IS RIGHTFULLY THEIRS? THE GOVERNMENT WOULDNT HAVE MONEY IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE PEOPLE. AND ALL YOU GUYS VOTED FOR OBAMA? I BET YOU WILL REGRET IT VERY SOON!

I think the ability to righ off the interest and sales tax you paid on your car should be rolled back to 2006 or 2007. If this government really wants to help then he should help those who are about to lose their cars or having a hard time because their wages have been cut or they lost their job. My wifes' and my gross wages for 2 weeks was $2093.00 and now it is $910.86. If this continues we will lose are car. It will mean paying higher costs for food and not being able to see our heart doctor which is 90 miles away. can we move closer? the answer is no. we work and live in a national park. Nothing I see will help people like us who have really need help. The backbone of this Country.

As far as Jobs. Force American Companies to come back to U.S. soil Or charge them a higher penalty. i am tired of seeing goods from china, mexico, and canada. I am tired speaking to someone who is a custumer service agent who you can't understand and they can't understand you because they are from another Country. Like these telemarketers for Qwest or another Company that outsorces those jobs to India.

Stop exchange students coming over here and not paying any taxes. (They do not tip.)

I think that Preident Obama has done a good job so far.I would love to hear what the republicans have to offer to this stimulus plan.Just what would this package look like.Why was this package not put forth four to six years ago.

The fact that Republicans in the House did not vote for the stimulus bill is irrelevant. Whichever party is the majority has done this very same thing over and over again for many years. So now that Rebubs are wining are We The People supposed to care?? They might as well dry their tears and get with the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA's program because Americans are waking up. Congress is divided and are making an awful attempt to divide America, however as your polls suggest it is not working. Refer to www.senate.gov and u can view different bills that are partisan and see that this division has been almost forever. President Obama has good intentions, however it is the stubborness of the "parties" that are delaying the American Dream. Happy President's Day!!

I am with you nononsense60. Every where you call you get a foreigner that I can't understand. I just want someone to explaine to me how this plan is going to help my house in forclosure, my unemployment and taking care of my handicapped newphew. Will they get this done in time before the loan companies take more houses? Lost my house do to getting laid off. What do I say to my newphew who is handicapped that we have to live in the truck because our country is going bankrupt and we can no longer live a normal life. Where are we aloud to park without getting a ticket? I can only pray that Obama pulls this off quickly before we have anymore suicides. Now that I am loosing everythng what else is left? No house, no job, taxes rising, my unemployment check did not come, turning off our water in 5 days. Is this life we created all worth the stress, anxiety, and the sicknesses that stress causes? Is 2012 really the end. Our country sure makes it look that way. The big question, "will help come for us in time?

they shoved this stimulus bill down every americans throat,nobody got a chance to read it.i think the reason they did this was because they were worried about these state and union employees.not the little guy who has an income of 50,000 and less or no income at all.this will not create jobs only save the jobs that are working now. superman4

The Obama administration should give everyone making less than $50,000 a year,  ten $100 vouchers or coupons that they can use to purchase goods, food, services, whatever from stores or online. The only way they can get value for the vouchers/coupons is to use them for purchases.  They cannot be exchanged for cash or deposited into a bank account.  They have to be spent or they are of no value.  In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to stimulate the economy.  This solves the problem that keeps coming up that if people are given money they won't spend it.  They will save it.  With this method, they must use it or lose it.

Why doesn't President Obama just take the stimulus money and divide it evenly, between every person in the United States?  The money would be taxed, hence....money to government.  Homeowners would pay off their homes, homeless and others would buy homes, hence.......money for housing crisis and banks.  People would pay for medical bills and get treatment they need including insurance......medical bailout, and so on and so on.  The government would have at least a year to fix food stamps, welfare and social security, as people would be able to afford these items.  Jobs would be created.

To me its sad that it takes a 911 crisis to bring everyone together Dems. and Reps. now we have a 911 financial crisis in America and the Republicans can't get behind the President Rush Limbaugh only is speeking for corp. america not the middle class we need to stop tearing us apart and see if our goverment can heal us. Obama has just taken on 8 years of of crazy,reckless,spending and we are not holding those accountable for their actions period!Corporations and other employers have looked the other way and hired illegals,who have been exploited,no labor laws apply to them,employers work them to the bone,pay them minimum wage if even,no insurance,paid holidays or overtime all of which they would have to give us.We all are getting screwed all the while the companies have made millions.How about if the 12 million illegal people pay for their green cards,they are here and would be willing to pay taxes and pay for the right to come and go as they please without the threat of being deported.These funds would wipe out most of debt,take care of the USA,help us little people,restart the economy and keep the employers of these people honest,maybe.12,000,000, multiplied by 1,000 or even 5000 dollers would create its' own bail out.
