The latest and greatest on CNN iReport, brought to you by Team iReport.
I wanted to give everyone a friendly reminder that we would be taking a more active role in settling personal disputes between members of the community. We announced the move in a blog post on Friday , because letting people work out their differences on their own wasn't working. Debate, and even spirited debate, is welcome on iReport.com, but I would urge you to remember one important thing – just because people disagree with you, it doesn't mean they're evil. They may be wrong, but they're probably a good person. Please keep that in mind. I saw a bumper sticker on my way in to work this morning that simply said "be nice." I think that pretty much says it all.
David,
Bumper sticker advice let me go try it.
It didn't work.
Mr. Davidw,
You have sons and daughters of the devil himself in here with us and you want to leave us sane iReporters, in the hands of etiquette's? How dare you for not exercising more authority over this situation. We didn't sign up for this internal stalkign and harrassment; while CNN wealthy folds their hands and count the wealth we generate....The first part wasn't part of the agreement - only the later part, so get the stalkers out the game Davidw. If you were in here with us - you'd cleanse those illi-Reporters out ...
LadysHoodJnl weighing-in.
So, Much for greasy-whip Monday
Geez girl, he's doing the best he knows. He cannot make policy, he can only suggest to those above him.
Perhaps if we all made our focal point the articles and content while being respectful instead of the person, things would go better. When it goes to personal agenda's, that's what david is refering to.
Either way Lady -- who knows I "digger" -- it takes two or more to escalate anything. We're always in control of our own bahavior, if select to be.
Warden, I know Davidw enough to know that he's a man and don't need another man, to defend him from a Lady.
Warden,
Did you come to discuss my points or your own?
Nevermind Lady, just a thought, that's all.
Warden,
Let your thought be about why you keep deactivating and coming back. Surely there's something ailing you. Open up and share with Davidw, as I have and encourage others to do the same, rather than; speaking for the exec producer of iReports - he can answer his own questions.
Thank you David.
lady, well I will defend him. Why so harsh? This blog is supposed to encourage us to be civil. You sound bitter because you don't get paid to post. Wouldn't everyone like to get paid. Getting paid would change the dynamic and the essense of ireports.
But I still like you lady and defend your right to speak your mind. ;)
Can't we all "be nice" just for one day?
Actually Lady I have a company to run; gets very hectic at times and involves 100 + hours weeks constantly at this point and in the past. Indeed, it's in my best interest and all those -- 60+ persons -- that rely upon me to do so when needed.
Some will understand that, and certainly, some will not.
best regards.
Warden,
I too run a company and enjoy and enjoy a life outside of this system as well.
Rosehips,
Talk to Davidw - not me.. we have all week long to talk.
Thanks David.
Update to myself: iReport.com has extended the opportunity of temporary internship @ CNN HQ Atl to someone from the iReport community ONLY... that's what I'm sayiny.... Hat's Off to CNN.
and thank you for hear us Capt'n.
It's none of my business, as you said LHJ, my apology, won't happened ever again.
Dearest TheWarden;
If ever you are presenting your concerns; I promise to keep out of it, in hopes of a resolve.
Sincerely,
LadysHoodJnl
I prefer t-shirt advice. Bumber stickers are too depressing and are usually on the end that you can't make eye contact with. However the t-shirt is right there in front of you and on back so it gets you coming and going.
bumber stickers are also distracting while driving. We have enough distractions on the road as it is with people on the phone, reading bill boards, maneuvering around police and accidents, stopping for hitch hikers, donating to panhandlers, texting, arguing with the radio, configuring the radio, looking for your camera, eating, drinking, smoking, petting the dog or cat, fixing your clothes and reading bumber stickers. No wonder so many people have accidents.
Bumber stickers are not the way to go, they cause accidents. Read t-shirt advice instead.
I am not sure why CNN doesnt adopt what all big forums have. A moderator with the ability to delete and or edit comments.
