Playing the violin has been a huge part of John Krix's (aka newsdude newsdude ) life since he was 5. And now, after 40 years of devotion to the violin, he's selling a piece of his soul so his family can stay afloat financially.
His teaching paycheck and income from private music lessons and his wife's salary weren't enough anymore. Rising living expenses and mounting medical and credit card bills forced John to step up and make a decision. Music is in his blood, but he knew his collection of family violins had to go , instrument by instrument.
"It was a hard thing to have to sell them because each had a story about it. All those stories go along with the objects and they make them sentimental. It was really hard to get rid of them," he said.
The first violin he sold he had been playing for 15 years. Then he started selling the instruments given to him by his late father, a violinist with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for 30 years. He was John's first violin teacher. Each varnished beauty, some whose value was in the thousands and others that held more of a sentimental value, sold for less than half their worth on ebay.
John’s been making decent money on the violins, so it's become a way of life. To make ends meet, he's now reselling instruments he buys from China for relatively cheap.

Why doesn't he share his music with the world,in the form of a paid concert, or being a master violinist, howabout mentoring urban chldren or terninally ill children to expose them to the art of the violin?

Is entrepreneurial capitalistic “free enterprise” sustainable? Or, has the (233 year) experiment in individual property rights come to a failed conclusion? Is the human race returning (evolving) to a natural state, in which everyone is subservient to the state, totalitarianism?
Citizens’ personal and real estate property ownership; including use, distribution control, compensation for transfer, and relief from confiscatory taxes, must be recaptured from an ever expanding government if modern civilization is to be sustained. Prosperity for a large (as percentage) middle-class must be present for liberty to function as we have experienced.
Comprehensive slavery is all about ownership; being property of the state as opposed to an individual. The tipping point has arrived.
Patriots are aching for some ACTION they can do personally! Many authors and media personalities promote broad-brush, macro-ideas, and general philosophy. Citizens want specific impact (metaphoric pitch fork) activity they can engage in. Obviously, researching (beyond the lame-stream media) and voting on the issues, not personalities, is number one.
Every government entity has a building program, the management of which exemplifies their malfeasances. The law provides that public agencies (school board, city council … etc) allow any attendee of an official meeting to address the proceedings. Form a posse, show up at a meeting, and challenge elected members to read the book.
