The USS New York steamed into New York Harbor Monday and iReporters were there to document its arrival. The 25,000-ton ship is partially made of seven and a half tons of steel recovered from the World Trade Center.

Watching the ship was especially meaningful for New York iReporters MSetoPhoto , sergeinyc and sjunat55 , who all had personal connections to the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. MSetoPhoto and sjunat55 lost friends in the attack and sergeinyc was working in the towers at the time.

This is a huge ship. Well great that they are fine and thew cruise flow is so fine. Currently, no military loans may be made to personnel, be it a small personal loan or a mortgage, may charge more than 36% in APR. They didn't legislate what banks can charge for overdraft protection, but that's a whole other hornet's nest. This might have the effect of making it harder for any predatory lending being practiced lending to our service people, but it might also hamper their credit access. It seems shameful to think that anyone in the service would have to worry about military loans or payday loans, when the job they do is so important.
