Hey @adriana71 - lots going on in the world of iReports. Nicole is busy working with the Iran Desk today, combing over images from Iran.
We've been doing our best to keep up with all the amazing images of snow from the entire eastern seaboard.
Menawhile, we're busy planning some new assignments.
Starting next month - we're going to bring back the Weekend Assignment.
We're still brainstorming ideas for that btw- so let us know if you have any to share.

Hope some I-Reporters out there can get snow on film on the Miss Gulf Coast.. What a sight that would be..
I have an idea. Two of my favorite assignments from last year were the My City, My Secrets & Main St. USA. What if we kind of combinded them? Like we find a small local business, and try to feature the small businesses across the US. It could be a cool map in the end!

We did get some snow photos from the French Riviera today, but I don't think we've talked to the submitters.
Biloxi, Miss is getting snow tomorrow I think. Heck the whole state of Miss is expecting 2-6".. weird..
I think I've seen enough snow photos (and enough snow) for now. Looking forward to the Weekend Assignment. Tyson, can you give us a clue?

For those of you new to the Weekend Assignment - each Friday, we'll announce a new assignment. You'll have the entire weekend to complete it. (Don't worry - we'll try to keep it simple and fun) Then we'll take the best submissions and put them back on the site in a creative way.
I'd love to run some Weekend Assignment ideas past you. Coming up in the next post...

@DaElmer I think it would be neat to see all the small businesses across the US. They are all so different and unique! You can tell a lot about the area from just one store!
@DaElmer: Here's an idea - See what parts of MS get the most attention with snow removal. I'll bet anything it will be the roads that lead to the casinos that get salted and plowed first. Here in NJ the Atlantic City Expressway is always the cleanest road in the state when we get a snow storm.
Yeah, I live in Upper Michigan next to the USA's largest Ski Jump.. But I lived in Memphis and and 1" of snow kills them..

*Share and prepare your signature dish. (yes, this is a cooking assignment - think Rachel Ray but in like 3 minutes instead of 30)
*Micro/Macro - for you photography buffs, zoom in on a person, place or thing and see if we can guess what it is.
*Town founder. Tell the story of your town founder. Take us to important historical locations in your town.
I uploaded some new snow photos and video; are you still vetting those or should I stop? I love snow and can't get enough of it.
@DaElmer -- I really recommend this article on shooting video http://multimedia.journalism.berkeley.edu/tutorials/shooting_tips/ It has a lot of things you can do to improve your videos.
I really think it will be a big help.

There are so many attractions around my town it is impossible to get them all in one shot. Between the Largest Ski Jump in the USA to the 2nd largest Bat Cave in the USA... Did I mention we have the Largest Cornish Pump in the world as well..

With all the snow lately, maybe a good weekend assignment would be to tell what is within easy walking distance in your neighborhood that is fun to do on the weekend?

Awesome! A video producer is working on a how-to video for making time-lapses. I've never tried it either, so I guess we'll just all figure it out together. :)

Hello everyone I am a rookie here and need some help. I have a investigative type of story line that I would like explored. Just wanted to know how to start the ball rolling and thought you all might know. OK Here it is, Why is it that Gang activity in the US is not considered terroristic and why not use those laws to crack down them and the drug problem sweeping the nation. I would really get behind a plan that would do this even if it ment paying more local taxes. What do you all think.

I'm a longtime viewer of HLN and really like the show. But, I dislike being interrupted every 25 minutes to listen to Comcast. I'm in the Wash DC area. Is anyone else tired of hearing the politicians talk about how we have to tighten our belts,yet they've snuck a 10% pay hike into the health care bill? In response to Poppy Harlow's story this morning on the formula used to determine poverty thresholds.
