We want to thank all of you for making the "Walk in Our Shoes" weekend assignment a huge success. We got more than 450 submissions from all over the world. Tyson has been working with a team of people to turn those videos into something really cool and we appreciate everyone sharing their walks and spreading the word.
This weekend's mission is a scavenger hunt of sorts that we're calling "Operation pay phone."
We'll talk about that and any other questions or concerns you may have.

I appreciate the many Ireporters here. I just had one, however, that made a racist remark in my e-mail.
While we're waiting, I'd like to encourage everyone -- especially our new users -- to take a quick look out our Community Guidelines (http://www.ireport.com/guidelines.jspa).
There's been a lot of contentious debate about health care reform and I just want to remind everyone that we can disagree without being disagreeable.
I think we will all enjoy our experience here if we treat each other with respect.

I just respond to the nasty emails with a request they stop contacting me that usually works

As usual, I can't stay long, but I wanted to jump in to see what's going on and to say hello.
Jay, yeah, good idea.
Put people in their place when they get out of line. Stand up for what right.
I've been going through iReports over the past few days and have been trying to urge people to be civil. It's great that so many people feel passionate about the issue, but that makes it all the more important that we be respectful.
But the nasty stuff stiff shows up in Ireports & comments
I am in and out of a Company Meeting regarding health care atm. I can give you this information we are a 44 member firm that was holding out hiring 7 secretarial positions until the HC Bill was shelved or passed. As of now we are not going to add personnel on a full time basis. Personally I was looking to hire a new Administrative Assistant (we share the cost with the company) and thats been scrapped too. Wonderful news huh.

Threats and abusive behavior are absolutely unacceptable. If you see something, please click on the report violation link and our moderators and I will check it out and take the appropriate action.

We do report them and sometimes they go right away and sometimes they stay up for a day
@Jayberdz -- Our moderators go through the flagged comments regularly and I check through them several times a day.
I've stopped reading the comment. My husband will occasionly read them to make sure nothing too overt.
I had four reports removed within minutes of posting last night, Ireports I flagged stayed up for a day , how do you explain that ?
@Larena -- if you feel like it's inappropriate I would encourage you to ignore it or ask the person to stop. If they don't let me know and I'll look into it.

Reading the bill you should higher more as you will receive a tax credit. BTW, in 2014 you will get lower rate because of your described setup.

@Jayberdz -- I would have to look back at it. Our moderators are supposed to look at each iReport within minutes of it being posted and pull anything that violates the guidelines. If someone posts the same thing multiple times it will be pulled automatically.
If something is flagged and it didn't violate the guidelines it will stay up.

I submit some IReports are pulled within minutes and others take hours after being flagged, I see a disconnect between what your saying and what is happening

David, I think we deserve a direct answer on why some Ireports get immediately pulled after flagging and others stay up for hours after flagging.

BTW Ew you never answered me on the illegal immigrant debate I presented to you? If they succeed in making all illegals citizen what do you think will happen to the funding on the bill? As written it is inadequate at best.

Not you. I know you are over the limit. I am talking about the company. I am sure you do not have 10 secretaries each earning $50,000. I mean we should not be in this for ourselves but for the country and all the people hurting man. A lot of opposing should really try talking to people outside that 5% income level. In fact I wish an assignment for iReporters all over the country to speak to 2 to 5 stories each. I did a report the other day that said the difference between the Depression and now is that the structures are such that people suffer in silence.
I try to contain my emotions. Sometimes I get carried away but I don't believe I've ever said terrible things. I've had some reports pulled and couldn't figure out why. But, hey, it's not my site. Mostly I enjoy CNN Ireports. If nothing else it gives people a chance to vent and express what they think on critical issues and even fun stuff.

The threats are ridiculous. The far left and far right are overboard here. The Repubs and the Dems need to come out and condemn these blatant attacks. But at the same time many Dems are being harassed legally with change your vote and you vote yes now we vote NO in Nov. That is not harassment but freedom of speech.

I will be doing an iReport on immigration going forward. Of course you know I think you have it wrong. You must remember I am a legal immigrant so I may be biased. Ooops, bit we are all immigrants here. What is the difference? The immigrants today are here to improve themselves without trying to drive out the new natives :) Come on smile!

Because of the incivility around political discussions nowadays, I refuse to upload a political story and rarely comment on one. It's too ugly out there and has been for a long time.

No Ew not 10 Administrative Assistants making $50k how about 8. The owner of the company already has said our commission structure has to change to incorporate the new taxes on medicare that they will be burdened with. So this does directly effect me now. I already explained that I will drop my Assistant, finacially it makes no sense for me to pay top dollar (even though its half) for a good assistant and take a commission haircut. Now multiply this by the 24 brokers who will be doing exactly the same thing and we have just added to the under employment problem in order to save our own income.
If we are thinking this way can you imagine how many other companies are thinking the exact same thing?
Can we talk about the operation payphone assignment? Do you prefer photos or video? Can we interview people who use the payphones? There are quite a few within a few blocks radius of my apartment.
@mcintron -- That's unfortunate. We are working on that. I've been sending out warnings behind the scenes and quite people are now former members of the community because of their behavior.

I find a lot of comments attack the person themselves. That little guy cam was getting attacked left and right.
The way I see it, once you need to attack the person and not the issue you lost the debate.
The pay phone project is going to be interesting.
I've been looking around and have seen a few places that used to have pay phones but haven't seen an actually phone yet.
Hopefully, I'll get lucky.

@rasguy24 But that is exactly where political discourse is today. Personal attacks on the person instead of the issue, altho' they may start with the issue. It's nasty and impossible. I am a very political person, but steer clear of politics online, for the most part. Except on Twitter where I occassionally send out a tweet when I'm beyone frustrated.
Since you will not address the issue I will say I hope the moderator staff does a more even handed job of evaluating the and removing the objectionable Ireports and comments that we flag.
@mcintron We're specifically looking for photos of pay phones. You can definitely talk to someone who's using one and let us know what you find out!

After many and I mean MANY personal attacks on this site, I've found that the best solution is to simply ignore the trolls and they will eventually drown in their own venom and die away. I'm having too much fun to let anyone rain on my parade. :o)
@Katie, okay so no video at all on the pay phone assignment? I was a little confused after reading the specifics because they mentioned we could talk tot the person using the phone and I thought I could video tape them if they agreed. But if it's all photos, that's fine with me. Thanks!
EW your view on immigration is too rosey bud. They are stealing work and they are stealing services. Fact is you add the millions that will become citizens into the system and it collapses...please do the math. I have. You know my opposition to the HC Bill is financial not social. If we can pay for it (even public if we have to) without relying on tricks (capital gains tax and mandate to buy) and forcing one sector of the economy (the rich or well off) to pay for it we can succeed in this. As currently funded it will not work. Look you and I have had many discussions and I know you are intelligent the CBO'snumbers came from the Democrats so are iffy at best ok fine even if they are dead on the money it fails...UNEXPECTED COSTS... Staffing issues, equipt and here is the biggie adding million to the coverage will result in a certain percentage (and we can assume a decent % based on them never being covered) having very serious or even not too serious conditions which will utilized the initial revenues right up. Has to there is no room to not have a certain % not having something wrong with them. This will collapse the funding immediately.
@mcintron - We are primarily looking for a photo essay, however video/interviews are also welcome (but don't forget to follow instructions to the letter!)

Because of the Depression the country is in immigration rhetoric on the Right will get dirty, ethnic, racial, and carnal. It will try to rile up whites in general and that will cut across political parties. It will be difficult. In fact I think Obama is just intending to open the debate to keep his hispanic flank for November and tackle in 2011, with enough time to recover for 2012.
@Katie, no problem. I'll upload them today. It just took me forever to edit that story. Both Kathy and her husband had a lot to say. I had to omit a lot of 'b' footage.

You need to re-think posting videos like this. To bring up a violent act such as a knife fight and make light humour about it is totally absurd. This is a serious problem in schools, clubs and elsewhere.
Granted, the people asking the question set up the 2 commentators... however, you should have not posted it.
Just to shed some light on the subject...2 teens were stabbed Tuesday, one died near his school after an altercation with another student at the same school, in Oshawa, Ont.and another is fighting for his life in Mississauga Ontario. Pretty sad...Smarten up!!!
