Hi everyone.

Before we get started I wanted to let you know that CNN iReport is getting a new address -- http://www.ireport.cnn.com. www.iReport.com will still work, but it will redirect you to the URL.  The change will make it easier for our developers to build some new site features that we're looking forward to, but it won't affect your experience on the site. We're planning to make the change next week, and will let you know when we're ready to flip the switch.

Hi ANAV, CNN.com/ireport currently redirects to iReport.com but in the future it will go to ireport.cnn.com.

It's not going to be a big deal, but we wanted to let people know so they didn't think they'd gotten a virus or something.

@David.. I know lets sure hope so. Thanks. Would really be nice. @Katie... 16.9 format on update? Does a video have to be shot in this format (to work best)for economy update or can that be made in editing program? Use a point and shoot so it might have only one setting. Though did notice in editing program (Windows Moviemaker) it can be saved in 16.9 . This will work best?

One of the things I wanted to do this week was encourage everyone to reach out to your friends on social media and invite them to CNN iReport.

If you're really active on YouTube or Flickr or vimeo or other sites and see somebody who's doing good work, please let them know about what we're doing here.

You are our best ambassadors for CNN iReport, so we'd love for you to help spread the word.

@DavidW

May I suggest that you create an iReport streaming channel that is a continuous feed of vetted iReports. The channel could be politics at one time, entertainment at another, DIY, cooking, etc. In other words you get a channel with free content you can advertise on and narrate at will. I think it would dynamism and pre-journalist can see their productions in a respected venue. Just a thought.

Juan Munoz told me about CNN Mexico and iReports feeding that category. In fact, he verified a few of my photos while I had an assignment in Mexico.

Now I'm in Asia and was wondering if there was any iReport categories related to this region specifically?

@davidw

GREAT! I would love to suggest formats that I know young adults like my daughter would probably love to get into (and older adults like myself :)) I think done right it will start a new CNN where the iReport team would be responsible for viewer growth. Hell, Fox is starting to wear on folks and like I had posted here before, CNN is still the mainstay where these guys return to. One of my Conservative buddies at the gym told me he is back. Of course it worries me as I hope he is back for real balance and not the CNN is going Right LOL.

I know the war is old news but i wanted to share my story for all millitary spouses.My name is Mr sanders and i know It is very hard to be a military spouse, bt even harder when your spouse decides to have an affair and cheat on you while deployed.My wife due to reasions beyond my understanding decided to cause me and our four children great pain by doing just this. I know i cant include her name or the full name of the other soldier involved with her so i wont. I will just call them my wife and Soto.she has been deployed to COB speicher with the 1836 transport 4th squad for 5 months and up untill about a month ago everything was fine.Suddenly she contacted us less and even became agressive and angrey with me and our children. I was injured three weeks ago and she came home on leave due to that. she is now totaly diffrent then when she left us. She has become cold,crule agressive and even abusive to both me and our children. i dont know if this is due to her affair or ptsd but we are all very hurt and upset. i want to keep my family intact but she is due to go back very soon.It is very sad becase she is a 28 year old mother of four haveing an affair with a 21 year old kid who i am sure is just looking for a good time.I cant understand what would make her throw away all the years of love and family but i do know that if she keeps on with her affair and actions toward us she will destroy our family and one more millitary family will have been made to suffer from this war, for if she had never deployed things would still be the same.

Hi, everyone.Just sitting at home recovering from an on the job injury.I live in Las Vegas and i worry that i won't have a job to go back to.Our unemployment is 13% the highest in the country.I'm also a democrat and a little disapointed in Harry Reed.Being an electrician ,i'm hoping that some of these green energy jobs start happening.We have sunshine about 365 days a year.

hi!,  we have a company here in San Antonio that makes microbes that eat oil.  they are not gene engineered, but derived from naturely occuring strains. i have heard that Costner's centrifuges have been bought by BP; but that they have some effciency problems with thick oil.  The company here in town has a product that will quickly break down the paraffen in thick oil.  In corresponce with them, they stated it would work with Costners centrifuges.  Anybody else find this interesting?

I usually dont post my opinions on the interenet, but with the latest news from the capital and our beloved government i feel obligated as a citizen...nay.....American....to now come forward and get the truth out there. Our beloved president Obama has once again screwed us (the "now" generation) of America out of any hope of having a country left by the time we are old enough to do anything to stop it. But wait, we are capably of doing something to stop this insanity. If only a percentage of young Americans protested ( not in any violence) but in peaceful protests against this destroying of America we could change the way this Country is headed. Obama is secretly trying to sell everything to all of these over seas, and right around home, countries that have publically said they want to ruin us, which saying that is even sugar coating it. The latest series of events has pushed me over the edge, Trying to ban deep water drilling? What is that going to accomplish? Did you know that over 50,000( This number is actually higher) deep water dillings have taken place in the Golf? This does not include ultra deep drillings. And only one accident has actually happened. That leaves a 99.998% success rate . Now what would happen if the ban actually goes through you might ask? Well what is going to happen to all 33 oil rigs in the golf that B.P. didnt pay for we did? We would end up paying 10 million dollars to move just one of them to another country to lease to. Not only does this mean that America would lose out on at the very least hundreds of thousands of jobs alone, we would be selling the only thing that keeps our gas prices below 10 dollars a gallon. If we were to sell these rigs to say Brazil or Iran they would sell the barrels of oil back to us for well over $200 a barrel. That means well over $8.00 a gallon for us. Im not even gonna get started on the rest of the incompatent mumbo jumbo that this so called "President" is doing i will save that for the next blog. By the way for all you people who think i'm a retard or i dont know what im talking about. Just message me i show what i know...and P.S. No im not an Anarchist i do belive limited government is the best for society. But not Socialism or Communism. Thank you for Reading.

Hello David,

I have been to Grand Isle several times over the months the Oil has been pouring into the Gulf of Mexico and seeing what is being called clean up.  It is a Joke and a crime.  Everywhere boats are loaded with workers riding and riding around in their boats doing nothing at all.  This past weekend we took a boat ride to one of our favorite spots in the Camanada Bay, well much to our surprise Ha! were all the boats with all the workers anchored while the time clock ticked.  So when you see the news its not true what they are showing.  The beach in Grand Isle, the public cannot not access because they have a fence, sand berm and boom not allowing that, while all the while Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida can go in the water and bask in the sun right beside the oiled beaches. Why? thats what I want to know.

good morning everyone i was born and raised on the gulf coast i am 58 years old i grew up right on the water front

the oil spill makes me feel like a family member has been violated. One thing that concerns me now is the attitude of our civic leaders in florida and more so in alabama. One thing i want to express strongly is this is a disaster not a oppertunity to cheat and steal or line some offshore bank account. Example in alabama a man working to clean up oil had 200 dollars deducted from his pay check for haz mat training,they handed him a certificate of the completed training he never recieved and the company who is training people said on the news they don't teach this course in alabama and the certificate was fraud. This is a prime example of crooked politicians in alabama running some scam and using this disaster to fatten there wallets. B p says this training is free to the workers and noone should be charged for this training. translated this means some local politician in alabama who is in charge of hiring is milking the workers hired to clean up oil.

In other words if you want to work in alabama cleaning up the oil you need to pay for the job. It is sicking noone is even investigating this fraud not the local government or state or federal government.

I see that this oil spill is just getting worse where it will be a global situation from all this oil that is gushing out of the ocean core. We need to see that the main concern here is to remove the oil yes remove the oil from the ocean from getting to shore. Yet no one wants to look at this machine that actually removes the oil from the ocean. Why cant anyone such as the president use these machines that are productive. Instead of spending millions on sand blocks & skimmers. Ivette 954-649-3905
