The latest and greatest on CNN iReport, brought to you by Team iReport.
We've been talking for months and months about our plans for a badge system to recognize iReporters' contributions to the community. Our developers and designers worked really hard on the project, so we are thrilled to introduce this little guy.
You can get the "On the campaign trail" badge by downloading the free CNN Election APP for Blackberry, Android or iPhone) and participating in the iReport Election Challenge.
We'll be rolling out more badges in the next few weeks, so you will be able to earn them by posting iReports, jumping into the comments and getting involved in the community (we've also got a few surprise badges up our sleeves). This will be a big improvement over the current "Superstar" system, because it will acknowledge everyone's participation and give a clearer picture of iReporters' activity.
If you've got a badge idea let us know in the comments below or, better yet, draw a picture of it and post it as an iReport.
im so glad thay got out that means thay can en joy life
What about if you don't have a blackberry, iphone or android? My phone is called a Dumb Phone. ;p
So it seems these brand new iReporters are getting the first badges. Wow, that kinda hurts.
Awww. I agree. I don't have a smart phone, so can there be a badge for Ireporters that don't have smart phones, like a "Dinosaur Badge (Ireportasaurous)", or a "That's so Yesterday's News" badge?
ROFL @ Iamicheala. Your phone may not be smart but you certainly are. LOL
This is a welcome development. Thank you very much. But what about profile badge as CNNiReporter?
Perhaps new badges will be introduced soon :)
Awesome! Kind of feels like I'm in the national parks' junior park ranger program again ;) I love it!
Is the badge like a "Gold Star" ?
I never needed a "Gold Star" in school and I appreciate CNN trying to
recognize people but hopefully people do the iReport to get the word out there
and not for the "Gold Star". iReport should be the "Free Press" of America.
Hopefully not as jaded as the commercial press.
My company phone is also not "Smart". So no badge for us lol?
Alas, no news on the promised "new badges..." I wonder how iReporters are going to learn about recognition badges or other icons that show they've been active.
