Giving thanks

One of the best things about Thanksgiving – okay, besides the turkey and pumpkin pie – is the rare opportunity to slow down and think about the past year and all that you're thankful for.

Those of us on the iReport team have a lot of reasons to give thanks, most notably because of you, our wonderful community. Without your stories, photos, videos and comments, iReport would't exist. And thanks to you, we were treated to some amazing iReports this year, from a bison crammed into a car to first-person accounts of the BP oil spill. The stories you share are fascinating, creative, touching, funny, honest and unique, and make this site a one-of-a-kind place.

Thank you for being part of iReport and making it an even bigger and better community. To date, more than 700,000 people have registered for the site! To each and every one of you: Thanks.

(For those of you traveling for the holidays or lining up for Black Friday, we'd love to hear your experiences. Happy Thanksgiving!)

For the troops who will not be coming home for the holidays and gave the ultimate sacrifice, a fitting song is Sara Schiebers "Christmas In Heaven"  Please consider this song over the holidays, for the family's that have lost a loved one in Iraq.

Thank you

Thank you, Katie, iReporters and iReport team! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I'm thankful to CNN iReport for giving me the opportunity to tell and share stories from my little corner of the universe. Because of you I've made connections I would otherwise never have made, both through my iReporting and through the CNN iReport community.

I would like to thank CNN Ireport and Ireport team for giving me a chance to explore the other side of life. My life became more exciting and challenging when I join Ireport. It made me somewhat fulfill what I always wanted in my life - to tell a story in my own POV. When I'm not a member of Ireport, I usually spent time eating outside alone or watching Korean DVDs & other foreign movies or spending the weekend inside the office playing Plant vs. Zombies or working. Because of Ireports my weekends became more colorful and I have a chance to tell the world about Philippines. I also gave challenge to myself in doing Ireports. I have list of festivals to attend and places and events to visit for my Ireport. I also became curious in what's happening around that's why I always bring my cameras with me.

I got chanced of meeting Ireporters from the other side of the world... And meeting fellow Ireporter from the Philippines....

There are a lot of good reasons to thank CNN Ireport. I also influence some of my friends to join Ireport and I'm happy that their stories are vetted.

I want also to apologize to Ireport producers if sometimes I can't express my thoughts in good English and thank you for bearing me...

And I would like also to thank Raja, who sold me his DLSR with lens for a reasonable price December of 2009.

Happy Thanksgiving... and I think I should eat baked turkey later....

It’s great to have a Thanksgiving Day not only in the U.S. but it should be for every country in the world. Having a Thanksgiving Day is a special day for commemorating and remembering a person or probably a situation or a simple object that has given us importance or has helped us.

Big deeds or small deeds need to be recognized and appreciated, and if possible reciprocated. Being grateful is a wonderful opportunity of giving back the blessings we have received.

I have many blessings in life to be thankful for. One of these is CNN. I would like to thank CNN for this opportunity to share my talents and my passions. I am indeed grateful and I am proud of this.
