We've also got a fun new assignment for folks to try. We're asking people to share their favorite recipes that use Fair-trade chocolate. It's the latest in our Freedom Project challenges:
First David where to send the "This is CNN" video clip?
Rachel I just got word you called the other day and am sorry I did not return your call.
I have a difficult time hearing on the phone but always check my email.
Love the new assignments!
I sent in several photo essays and one weather posts with the ice storm we had last weekend. I know I about wore everyone out, but was pretty excited with my new camera.
Hi @HarryWales - Actually, there is a neat international project I'm just starting that you might be interested in. It has to do with the U.S. election.
I joined iReport Januaru 2012. I wanted a voice. It worked well, but now that the crisis I reported is over. How do I turn this from a one time gig into a full time freelance engagement?
Welcome teenaija0880 -- It has been fascinating to see all the iReports coming in from Nigeria. How are things there now? Is it quieting down or is this the start of a new political movement.
@Akata A lot of iReporters use their "on CNN" stories as clips on their resume when they're looking for a full-time job or freelance positions, and that's definitely a good strategy! I'd also recommend that you keep an online portfolio of your work (iReports and whatever else you've done). Here's a story we did about iReporters who leveraged their iReporting to get jobs: http://www.cnn.com/2011/IREPORT/08/11/job.success.irpt/
I could certainly contribute something from Wales (a country which has a long connection to the United States) in fact I shall be talking about those connections at our local history society next month. Would you want a personal viewpoint or views from my part of Wales?
Hi, I'm new to this roundtable. I've been a CNN iReporter since April 2011. I have a question about the recent changes to the iReport site. Why are articles being limited to 4000 characters? Why don't comments have the same limitation?
@HarryWales - That's a good question. I'd be keen to get a video perspective from you, but if you interviewed other folks as well, that'd be fascinating. Let's stay in touch. I'll let you know when I've launched an assignment.
Anybody got political project ideas, by the way? I specifically work with user comments, and politics is what everyone wants to talk about, so I'm always looking for fresh ideas to get people involved and so is Team iReport that you're talking to right now.
HI Eaglenews - I don't know the answer to that question. Our friends at CNN International put that show together. I did see several really good articles about CNN iReport on the Internet this week.
The world is really paying attention to what you are doing.
Just to let everyone know, we are going to get back in the habit of doing this every Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET, so hopefully we'll see you all next week. If you have topics you'd like us to talk about, please let me know.
Also feel free to contact me or anyone on our team if you have questions or concerns that you'd like to remain private. My email is david.williams@cnn.com.
Finally, if you have friends in that you think would be interested in CNN iReport, please invite them to join us.
We have a spring wther in Copenhagen. Only Racism is a problem. I have just been in court, The Universoty of Copenhagen is triyong to get me emprisioned as a Terrorist with connections with Afcaeda. First I was acused of being a terrorist. One year later I was not a terroris but a person who has Guns as Pistols asking for permkission to shut everyone. Strang but a serious case. I can go to jail for life.

Hi everyone and welcome to our roundtable.
Hi all- Alun here, live from (very warm!) southern Spain today!
I'm going to start by showing off some of the great iReport driven content that's been published on CNN.com this week. It's been pretty exciting.
CNN Money published their gallery of iReporters' favorite cars: http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2012/autos/1201/gallery.ireport-favorite-car/index.html
Health did a profile of a man who lost 270 pounds, which is amazing.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/25/health/weight-loss-profile-bryan-ganey/index.html
Hello!
We also had iReporters who shared fond memories of former Penn State coach Joe Paterno http://ireport.cnn.com/blogs/ireport-blog/2012/01/25/remembering-what-paterno-meant-to-you
And we're planning to publish a wonderful piece on iReporters' memories of the Etta James song "At Last."
Hi Alun and Chris,
How are y'all doing?
Spain sounds lovely. It's quite gloomy in Atlanta this week.
Doing Well, thanks Davidw. Hi Alun too! :)
I'd love for my recent iReports to be vetted. :)
We've also got a fun new assignment for folks to try. We're asking people to share their favorite recipes that use Fair-trade chocolate. It's the latest in our Freedom Project challenges:
http://ireport.cnn.com/topics/733442
We'll take a look at them Chris
Super sunny in San Diego. 80 at the beach! a rare thing and big waves as well at a great white shark sighting.
It's nice to see some sunshine - I'm also filming a few "This is CNN" pieces!
Re Eta James - UK newspaper the Daily Mail ran a headline which initially said
" At Last Singer Etta James Dies at 73"
which caused a few raised eyebrows ....
Ooh, that's unfortunate headline
What will the 'This is CNN' be used for? And are they using the ones from the past as well?
What do people do when they see a shark? Is it business as usual or do people stay out of the water?
whats the time with u lot:)
I live at the beach. There are signs that say danger at the beach, shark sighting. But surfers are crazy and take the risk.
I've never seen a great white at this beach. very rare.
Regarding big whites get the cameras out
Hi 53mice,
Welcome to the roundtable. I don't think we've met. I'm David Williams and I'm the CNN.com community manager.
If you ever have questions or concerns, you can drop me an email or private message.
53mice - hard to track a moving target in the ocean. Even if 16-18' and 5,000 lbs. :)
hello all!
majorly jealous of you, alun. i love love love southern spain. what town?
Cheers David, got a few Q

Hi guys! What's going on?
I was thinking Business Sharks in these tough times
Hi everyone.
I never did understand surfing .. but then again I can't swim ...
53mice - :)
Good evening from Wales (a rather cold, but clear Wales which makes a change), have I missed anything of import?
San Diego has some nice sharks. Wouldn't mind to go to there myself.
Hello everybody.
Ok how can I make some dosh doing this writing stuff and how can i illustrate TIME front cover
Hi everyone.I am Tina Armstrong from Lagos Nigeria, happy to be here with you all. This is my first roundtable meeting with the CNN iReport community.
Well Hello Harry from Wales, welcome to the roundtable! I don't know if there is much of import but there is a nice discussion happening here.
@Rachel8 - I;'m in the hills above Benalmadena tonight - off to film in Marbella tomorrow - if my partner gets better - unbelievably she's got a cold!
I was in Malaga today, wanted to do an iReport on their newish Picasso museum, but ran out of time!
Hello all!
Hi Tina, thanks for joining us! Welcome, hope you enjoy your visit. Great to have someone from Lagos on here.
Hi Ryn,
You can email it to me.
Hey Tina! Thank you for all your recent contributions.
Hi @HarryWales - Actually, there is a neat international project I'm just starting that you might be interested in. It has to do with the U.S. election.
Hi everyone. I'm getting ready for some snow and nasty weather that is predicted to hit here in Vermont.
I joined iReport Januaru 2012. I wanted a voice. It worked well, but now that the crisis I reported is over. How do I turn this from a one time gig into a full time freelance engagement?
Totally okay, @Ryn! Is it better to email you than call?
@eenaija0880 Can I be the first to welcome you - we're a friendly bunch here -and your country is fascinating at the moment (and always, actually!).
Welcome teenaija0880 -- It has been fascinating to see all the iReports coming in from Nigeria. How are things there now? Is it quieting down or is this the start of a new political movement.
I'm always interested in anything to do with the US elections. What are you planning?
Hi @mice53 - I don't know the folks at Time yet, but it would be could if we could one day have iReports on the cover.
hi David. can you answer the 'This is CNN' question? please.
Hey Chris,
I think I sent you an email about it last week.
Rachel Usually it is best to email, or I will drive you crazy saying pardon me, what did you say? lol
Appreciate you
@Akata A lot of iReporters use their "on CNN" stories as clips on their resume when they're looking for a full-time job or freelance positions, and that's definitely a good strategy! @David...the link you sent about the "This is CNN" only took me to a log on page that wouldn't let me log on.
oh David. I emailed you questions from that email. Thanks!
@Ryn Noted! Thanks :)
I'll send you better instructions KCRep.
@HarryWales - We'll be looking for what each country thinks of America and the U.S. election. Get your opinion cap on.
@David the same thing happened to me as it did to KC.
By the time your Election comes around we will be getting ready for our Vote on Independence.
Since we're talking about it, I'll go ahead and open it up to everyone.
I'm working on a fun little video project and asked some iReporters to help me out with it.
If you're interested, shoot me a note and I'll send more details.
I could work on the concept then we could approach them do get it done, especially as iReports are the future
Just noticed this was going on..
@HarryWales - That's a good question. I'd be keen to get a video perspective from you, but if you interviewed other folks as well, that'd be fascinating. Let's stay in touch. I'll let you know when I've launched an assignment.
@david - ah, yes, same here now I've checked re "this is CNN".
Hi anobid,
I don't know what caused the character limit on iReport stories, but I do have a work around.
What you can do is post the story with just a little bit of text when you upload it.
Then you can go in and edit the story and add as much as you like.
Greetings All.....Chris you be my Hero.....David you do a helluva job Thanks....
@Chris Super sunny and 80 sounds much better than snow, sleet, and freezing rain. I'm not looking forward to this nasty weather.
@SPK - Do you think Scotland will declare independence? I hope you'll keep us updated.
I loved Edinburgh when I was there this summer.
Ah, talking about the weather. It's pretty nice out.
JVHill :)
thepizzaman - I've like to order a pizza for delivery :)
yeah, stay warm @thepizzaman.
I'm hoping to go to Scotland this year, works well for the amount of Delta FF miles I have.
David,
Just a thought, consider stories on Non-Profits asking the good and bad, etc;
I hope so david but the Press over here as well as the Political Prties on the Right & the Left are pretty much all run from London.
That means very little of the Scottish Point of View will be seen here.
You may be more likely to get unbiased Points of View in America than we are.
Anybody got political project ideas, by the way? I specifically work with user comments, and politics is what everyone wants to talk about, so I'm always looking for fresh ideas to get people involved and so is Team iReport that you're talking to right now.
Just stopped in to say Hello.. Got to run;)
Thanks so much @JVHill. We've got a really great team and we're lucky to get to work with so many amazing people
Hello everyone¡¡¡
good to see you DaElmer.
@SPK Would you want to share the Scottish point of view? I don't know if I speak for all Americans, but I certainly don't know what that would be.
It will affect America but only because we have American Troops. We do have Nukes but I think England will want those back.
Just dont invade us for our Oil.
Hey Guys
Will You Guys do a Special “iReport for CNN” Episode , because of the one million registered users? sort of a look back
I almost forgot to let you know that our cool Week in iReport blog post will also post tomorrow in the blog.
We do a weekly rundown of some of the most interesting stories that came though CNN iReport. It's a fun read.
I will be happy to. Things should start heating up in the next few months.
It would be a long delivery Chris. But I'm sure I'd love the sunny weather.
HI Eaglenews - I don't know the answer to that question. Our friends at CNN International put that show together. I did see several really good articles about CNN iReport on the Internet this week.
The world is really paying attention to what you are doing.
David:
Would appreciate you including me on your list for your project...
Thanks David. It's about 25 degrees here right now. I have my wood stove crankin.
Okay Thanks B)
iReport is great!!!!
@thepizzaman A nice hot pizza will keep anyone warm.
one million mark could been on the f/c TIME
perhaps the next land mark should be
the pizzaman - I've got the craft beer covered if you deliver the pizza :P
This has been really fun.
@davidw - Thank you! I will try that! It has been a point of endless frustration!
Ciao! ALL!
Have a super day and check out my iReports!
Take care everyone,
I've got to run, but y'all don't have to leave on my account. Feel free to keep visiting amongst yourselves.
We'll talk with you next week.
I'll bring the fair trade chocolate treats!
Bye guys! Thanks for coming. Diving back into comment land ...
@EagleNews I just spoke with the producer of the iReport for CNN show and she's definitely going to include a salute to the 1 million iReporters.
@nsaidi We have gotten more ice than snow here in Vermont this year. I am turning into The Sand Man.
STOP TALKING ABOUT PIZZA. I'M STARVING.
that is all. ;)
Hi guys! Am i late to the party! Didn't have to pick up my kids today so I can check in!
Hi Guys. Sorry I am late...
@david
