10 questions you would ask at the presidential debate

Follow Wednesday's presidential debate coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET on CNN TV, CNN.com and via CNN's apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. Web users can become video editors with a new clip-and-share feature that allows them to share favorite debate moments on Facebook and Twitter.

As America gets ready to watch President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney square off on domestic policy at their first presidential debate Wednesday, there are a lot of questions up in the air.

We asked you, the voters, what questions you would ask if you were in the moderator seat. While the questions for all the debates are decided by the Commission on Presidential Debates, we wanted to take your pulse on what you'd like to hear. Of the more than 100 submissions, questions regarding the economy, health care and other domestic issues were among the most popular.

Here are the top 10 questions iReporters want answered at Wednesday's debate:

1. Romney: Will you uphold any of the provisions in the Affordable Care Act?
"My dad has been chronically ill for a number of years. He was approaching the lifetime cap when the Affordable Care Act bill was passed," said college student Chris Wolfe. The passage of the health care bill kept his father from losing his insurance, and possibly saved his life.

2. Obama: Why did you not focus primarily on jobs during your first two years in office?
iReporter Mark Ivy, a moderate Independent, points out that the economy was in such "bad shape" when Obama took office, and questions why the President didn't "use his political clout on finding solutions to right the economy and inspire business to return to expanding and hiring."

3. Both: How will you pay Social Security to the baby boomers?
Baby boomer Steve Parker, 51, is worried that there won't be any money left in Social Security when he reaches retirement. "If you're not going to let me have Social Security, then you should cut me a check for every penny that I paid in to it," he said.

4. Obama: Why are current homeowners not getting the same deals as Wall Street?
Melissa Fazli was inspired to ask about homeowner rights because she worked as a realtor during the housing bubble. "Current homeowners are not getting the same deals as Wall Street bankers/investors or any new buyer," she said.

5. Both: What is your plan to put America back to work?
iReporter Jannet Walsh from Murdock, Minnesota, has struggled with unemployment after moving home to care for her mother. "The new normal for a career is probably no career because you've lost your job," she said. She's keen to hear a specific plan and time table from both candidates.

6. Both: Who had the better auto bailout solution?
While the candidates had differing ideas on how to handle the bailout of the U.S. auto industry in 2009, Jamison Luther says both ideas ended in bankruptcy. He would like to see the candidates defend their stances on the bailout and see them "display their economic ideas, articulation, and execution on a real world event," he said.

7. Both: What most concerns you about your opponent's views on immigration?
Left-leaning Independent Matt Sky has been hearing a lot about immigration, but he thinks both candidates lack a "clear plan" on this issue. "Too often we hear vague statements from the parties accusing each other of not taking the immigration issue seriously or fairly without laying out specifics."

8. Both: Why are seniors being punished for going back to work?
Rick Huffman, 63, works as a security guard and feels it's wrong to "punish seniors" who must work after the age of 62. "I am upset that seniors are taxed on their Social Security after having already paid taxes over the years they pay into it," he said.

9. Both: Where do you stand on climate change?
"I'm concerned that I'm hearing the candidates talk a lot about jobs and the economy, but have been hearing very little about climate change, which was a huge story this past summer with the record shattering drought, and other severe weather events," said mother and nature lover Cary Okoro.

10. Romney:  Where should the government be involved in LGBT rights?
Kyle La Rose, an openly gay man, feels Romney has failed to take a clear stance on the federal government's role in gay rights. He said that while the candidate is weary of big government, he has no problem ignoring that concern when saying he supports the Defense of Marriage Act.

We'll be watching with you, so tune in to the first presidential debate on Wed., Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. ET. What questions would you like to be answered at the presidential debate? Share your video question, or feel free to discuss these questions in the comments below.

Q. Yes, people are living longer.  Should that be the sole criteria for increasing the retirment age?

a.  Is there any evidence which suggests, with equal certaintly, that long age today is associated with adequate physical and cognitive health which will allow a person to function in capacities he or she did during their working years?

b.  What do you plan to do to ensure a congenial and supportive working environment for seniors who have to work with or be supervised by younger work force?  Will you alter the productivity measurement standards? Will you re-design job descriptions to avail the experience and skills of the seniors?  Will you change the orientation of this 'youth' oriented society?  OR will you want the seniors to hold lesser positions and add emotional challenges to the already exhisting physical and cognitive challenges?  OR will you change the disability definition for SSDI and SSI benefits?  Today, they say, you can work - just take a lesser job.

I understood retirement to be a very healthy concept which allowed seniors to withdraw from work force in or near their glory and give way to the younger generation to bring in newer perspective in combination with the already successful pathways etched out by the outgoing generation.

Unfortunately, today the "healthy" concept has given way to "dollar/money" concept.  Therefore, the answer lies in revitalizing the economy and not in increasing the retirement age.

Questions are pointless they both lie anyway. The only truth is the two party system has destroyed America and corrupted Washington. Everyone you talk to says the same thing about which candidate they will vote for "well he is better than the other guy"!! They have succeeded in convincing the majority of americans to vote on ideology and divided us. That is how you concur any power is to divide them, just look at Rome.  We the people need to stop being fooled and vote for a third party. If you want anything other than what the two party system has done for the last 100 plus years you better consider changing how you vote. The lesser of two evils is still evil and since they both lie without recourse, how do you know which is the lesser?

Taxes, Cutting spending and debt ceiling!

Romney:  How can we cut spending when we are so big as a county? Where would we cut Military(I can not see how), Goverment workers(Maybe then infrastucture gose to h***), Education(then we the united states falls further behind), or Foreign relations(sounds good but not good for us in the long run)? You tell me. Small cuts are not cuts.

Obama:  How can we raise taxes? I'm not rich so it sounds good to me BUT it will ultimately hurt my bottom line also. If you do not think so why/how?

My opinion we need our law makers and next president to have common sense and a open mind on this. It is a big task I know but one that has to be done. While you all in DC are stalling the debt rises. This is not one mans falt or one mans fix. Same goes for the annual budget

A national committee of 2 for the POTUS elected after 11/7/2012

Copy to President Bill Clinton and also web mailed to Speaker Newt Gingrich

This letter should be really addressed to both Presidential Candidates.

I propose that immediately after the elections in November that the winning candidate ask President Bill Clinton and Speaker Newt Gingrich to form a committee of two statesmen to propose and recommend bipartisan legislation to solve our nation's economic and fiscal problems that can be voted on and passed by the new Senate and Congress taking office in January 2013. They probably would be best suited for this as they are both two of the most intelligent experienced politicians in our country, that are legislatively and government savvy-wise statesmen who have several major assets.

1. They will not be running for office again.

2. They represent both ends of the political spectrum.

3.  That they both worked together solving and passing legislative programs that balanced our national budget, lead this country to a national surplus and created the conditions for a rapidly expanded economy.

4. Both of them are sufficiently independently wealthy that they can be immune to the lobbying efforts of major big interests.

5. It would be ideal for both of them as they will rise to the level of true national statesmen who if successful in this task will secure their legacies in history, possibly far greater then when they were in their respective government positions.

It is understood that both of them will be politically supporting and campaigning for their respective political party's candidates up to the election.

If they do take on this task they should consider using some of the principles of  "Tax-Enomics".

Ask the candidates their opinion on the following:

TO POTUS, US SENATE, AND CONGRESS

The way to honor the four diplomats slain in Libya in the service of their country would be to give each of them Posthumously the Congressional Medal of Honor. This should  get 100 % bipartisan support. All it needs is a Senator and or a Congressman to propose the awarding of their medals. They were slain in battle as US soldiers in our war against world wide terrorists.

Do your duty and give them the honor of the medal - this is an American non-political task that you can do.

Ask the candidates their opinion on the following: The VOTE WEAPON and The DECLARATION OF WAR

The US needs to take two initiatives in the war against terrorists world wide.

To POTUS, the US Senate and the US Congress

The US is now fighting numerous battles in the War of Terrorism against the US through out the Middle East and even in other parts of the world. It is now time to unleash the world's most powerful weapon system -the VOTE WEAPON, so that we can take the initiative rather than await to respond to attacks on our sovereignty, our flag, and on our citizens.

To each of certain nation's such as Libya and Egypt we can use this weapon system as follows:

We ask each of these nation's to have a national referendum about the United States. They will tell their people to express themselves thru voting rather rioting and violating US Sovereignty of US Embassies and Consulates..

The referendum in country like Egypt or Libya for example would be as follows:

Do you vote YES or NO for the US to do the following:

1. Close the US Embassy- and Consulates with all personnel to leave your country, all US Businesses in your country will close and leave your country and all US Citizens will be forbidden to tour your country.

2. IF the vote is YES the US will discontinue all economic and military aid to your country, with all US companies closing their facilities in your country.

3. IF the vote is YES all tourism by US citizens will be discontinued.

If your country votes the US out of your country as stated above, the US will not return until there is a positive majority vote from another national referendum in your country asking us to return with your government being able in our government's opinion, to guarantee the sovereignty of our embassy, our consulates -including no burning of the US flag, and the safety of US diplomats and US citizens when in your country either for economic, military and tourism purposes.

It makes no sense for us to be in these countries unless both the majority of their people and their governments are positive about are being there. To be there at the request of their governments without the consent of the majority of their people is unacceptable.

Let them practice a little democracy to decide their own fate.

MRCANDU10 (Cousin of Mr Get It Done)

As a second part of the our US initiative we need a DECLARATION OF WAR AGAINST WORLD WIDE TERRORISM to put some teeth politically in our offensive against violations of US Sovereignty and US Diplomats, and US Citizens as follows:

It is now time for the United States Congress and the Senate to vote for a Declaration of War against all Worldwide Terrorists regardless of what country they are located in.

In the Declaration of War it should include the following:

1. The Declaration should name all known terrorists organizations, such as Al Quaida etc.

2. The Declaration should clearly state that the US reserves the right not to recognize the sovereignty of any country that knowingly and willingly harbors any of these terrorists with the full rights to pursue these harbored terrorists in said country, after said country has been notified by the US that it must capture and surrender said named terrorists within 30 days or less.

3. The Declaration should clearly state that if in any sovereign country any US Citizen(s) are harmed by said terrorists or any US Embassy-Consulate's sovereignty is violated in any country by anyone in any country that the US reserves its right to pursue the offenders of such violations where ever they may be found, even if it means pursuing them in the sovereign country where the above violations have occurred. This after said sovereign country will be notified to capture or surrender said violators-terrorists within 30 days or less.

The President should sign this Declaration of War and copies should be sent to every nation-country in the world as the world without borders is the home of world-wide terrorists.

Ask the candidates what they think of this letter sent to President Putin, POTUS and Premier Netanyahu               SYRIA-A Russian SOLUTION URGENT Matter to save thousands of lives

Copy to POTUS and Premier Netanyahu

Dear President Putin

Many people have said that Russia is the problem in stopping the violence and loss of life in Syria. I say Russia is the solution. As per a previous vote Russia and China are opposing any attempt for removal of Assad by any UN interference as Russia understandably wants to show it is a world power to be reckoned with. Additionally, Russia has a naval base in Syria and many economic interests such as arms sales and investment in tourism. However Russia seems to have drawn a line publicly with Syria with respect to the WMD-Chemical Weapons.

SOLUTION: The Russia with US support should propose at the Security Council that Russian and/or Chinese troops with full Russian air cover be sent to Syria as UN peacekeepers with Arab League Observers to temporarily stop the civil war, in order to remove all WMD -Chemical weapons and preventing them from falling into the wrong hands, such as Hezbollah. At the same time it would allow in medical and economic aid. The US and NATO countries would agree to provide financial and any other support requested by Russia for this peacekeeping mission. One vote with many solutions and no US or NATO Troops. A real easy solution that no one should object to. It would not remove Assad but it should for a period of time stop the violence and save lives without US or NATO Troops or sending weapons to unknown Syrian "rebels".It probably would have the support of all of the interested parties. The Rebel forces would probably agree to it as It would temporarily stop the violence, allow economic and medical aid to the civilian population. Assad will find it difficult to object as he will not want to offend the Russia and China. If as UN Peacekeepers Russia fail to stop the violence, then the UN can recall them or they can leave of their own accord. Russia would truly be proving itself as a world power capable of stopping a violent civil war. President Putin it would show that you are a true international statesman. I am just one voice but I hope you hear me and give these ideas serious consideration.

Ask the candidates what they think of the following: Subj: IRAN-An updated new "RED LINE"Proposal for a meeting or a conference call with Premier Netanyahu

CC: Premier Netanyahu by email PM_ENG2@pmo.gov.il

Dear POTUS

Israel wants the US to lay down a definitive "RED LINE" with respect to Iran's nuclear program.

If you want have Israel to wait with a longer definitive time line to stop Iran's nuclear program reaching a stage of ability to launch a nuclear weapon you must provide some teeth to your support for Israel's security. It is time to put a military option on the table that will send a serious clear message to Iran that Israel and the US will not allow Iran to have the ability to launch a nuclear weapon. This also may gain some time for the Iran sanctions to be more effective.

My Proposal:

IRAN

A military option to force Iran to yield to the sanctions to stop Iran from having nuclear weapons, without the US or NATO from going to war

Both Israel and the US are seeking ways to increase pressure on Iran not to arm itself with nuclear weapons.

There is a way to apply military pressure to IRAN without going to war.

POTUS wants Israel to wait until after the US elections before taking any military action.

Israel should ask that the US should provide Israel with the following military supplies and weapons:

1. Intelligence drones

2. The latest and most effective bunker buster bombs.

3. Several of the latest air to air refueling tankers.

4. The loan of an aircraft carrier.

In consideration Israel will agree not to use these new and additional military supplies in an attack on Iran without US CONSENT (unless Israel is attacked) and reasonable advance notice to the US of its intent to use any or all of these weapons to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. This will not prevent Israel from attacking Iran without using these military assets, which will allow more time for the sanctions to work.

By announcing this the US can be applying military pressure to Iran without going to war. It would put some teeth into Obama's promise that the US will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons and that this is a military option that was on the table and has now been brought to bear on Iran. It will help provide a "Red Line" for Israel.

Discussion of this proposal with Premier Netanyahu should be on the agenda with your next meeting or conference call with him ASAP

Ask the candidates for their opinion on the following:     An easy but different solution for the continuation of the Bush Tax Cuts that should be bipartisan acceptable.

The Republicans argue that increasing the tax rates on upper income taxpayers with TI in excess of $250K will stifle business development and job creation by small business owners.

SOLUTION

Increase the floor from $250k to $500K and allow a separate exemption increase for businss income for each dollar of wages for businesses that hire new employees by special classes - minorities, vets, the unemployed and for outsourced jobs converted to insource jobs. Thus if a business hires a special class of new employees and pays during the year $250K in wages to these employees their exemption for tax rate cuts increases by $250K. They would also be allowed a $1000 tax credit (non-refundable) for training each of these special class of new employees. The new taxable revenue increase from the newly hired qualified workers will directly offset the decrease in taxable revenue from the increased taxable income exemptions.

In addition Dividend income for taxpayers with AGI below $500,000 would not have their dividend income tax rates changed. Above $500,000 AGI large corporations could pass thru income exemptions with their dividends in direct proportion of the qualified wages paid as set forth above to dividends paid-modified qualified dividends.

This way higher earning business taxpayers will receive the benefits of the increased exemptions directly based upon the new jobs they create.

I will be emailing you other solutions to our nation's problems.

Ask the candidates their opinion on the following 2 Ideas from WE THE PEOPLE                                      1. The nation needs a proposal for a national referendum - perhaps thru email if not on election day 2011 at the polls.

On the referendum will be Obama's JOB Bill proposal and the Republican Job Bill Proposal

Let WE THE PEOPLE vote on the two bills

Let CNN run the Democratic National Referendum and Fox News run the Republican National Referendum

The referendums could list the major parts and people could vote for or against the parts they like or dislike.

We can call it the American Spring or Fall - Let the People Speak

2. Here is a Bipartisan Acceptable proposal to allow the "People" - US Taxpayers to express their support for the troops.

Just as there is a $3 check off box for the National Presidential Campaign Fund on the 1040, How about

a $3.00 Check off box on the 1040 for the "We the people Support the Troops Fund" - a new charity to help military personnel, their families, veterans, disable veterans etc.

This charity would be run by Disabled War Veterans and could have several volunteer Chairpersons who know how to run businesses - Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump and or Herman Cain- I think they would be glad to help.

The only negative to this idea is that "The People" would rather see the $3 go to this fund then the Presidential Campaign fund.

While I can understand the importance of most of the issues being discussed above, I must say I'm disheartened nobody has mentioned the 800-pound gorilla in the room we will almost certainly have to face off with, so here goes, for both candidates:  What are you going to do, or how are you going to rescue society in the event of a major oil supply disruption?  It is near certain that we will face a serious supply disruption from the Middle East, either from a war with Iran, which seems almost inevitable, where Iran retaliates by closing the Strait of Hormuz and holds all the Mid East oil hostage, or an Arab Spring uprising in Saudi Arabia, also a likely probability, that would take all the Saudi oil off the market for a year or longer!  While either event and many other scenarios would lead to not only astronomically high prices for oil and gas, but even severe shortages and ramifications that go way beyond just paying more at the pump, as all food and goods are transported at significant cost in terms of oil usage.  Since we've known about and faced such threats ever since the OPEC oil embargo of 1973, why are we still dragging our feet and doing so little for our nation's energy security?

(What the answers really are but you will not hear at the debate)

The affordable care act(Obama care) has nothing to do with care and everything to do with taxing all Americans. Not one healthcare worker has been hired because of it and only IRS agents and government beurucrat positions have been created by it. Even the SUpreme court upheld it ( blithering idiots) based on the tax angle.

It is not the federal governments job to create jobs. The math is very simple every public sector job = less money in the private sector. There is no magical world where this is not true because government cannot create money it can only devalue it or create debt owed by the people it represents. SO let's say the government hired every one on to the government dole... they have a name for this system and it is called communism check it out in the history books.

You won't in the big picture, The social security system is already negative netting ( incidently all the money SS has in in the form of treasury bonds IOUS because congress spends the money for the program twice). The entire system is a slow moving pnzi scheme and thanks to demographic shifts it will be bankrupt sooner rather than later and there is no way to fix it without taxing the young people who can afford it least into oblivion. Any Hoodoo,Voodoo you hear about this is just that and Medicare is in way worse shape. If you are young I suggest two things. 1. start saving now in real assets. 2. Never ever vote for a Republican or a Democrat because they have a constituency that diometrically opposes your interests. Vote Libertarian for best results.

This is a joke right? The answer here is simple. The two party system has failed completely and are beholden to their handlers. You want to change this vote outside the system. Thing is the whole thing is rigged via State and local laws regarding elections. The great news is because it is so locallized change can bee more easily accomplished unlike say a Federal level change. One concerted effort and the nation is right back on track.

End the Federal reserve and instate a controlled Fiat currency based on population growth. Repeal the 16th amendment. Instate bond programs for those who wish to buy non-paying- non interest forming bonds for whatever government program they like IE national defense , Welfare, etc. all contributions will be tax deductable ( oh wait no more federal taxes) Dissolve several government agencies there are so many to mention that we do not need I cannot list them all right here. Remove all federal laws regarding wages and forbid Unions in government job positions as this is an ethics violation. Do these things and the economy will fix itself and the US will be right back on top of all facits of the global economy.

6. Both: Who had the better auto bailout solution?

While the candidates had differing ideas on how to handle the bailout of the U.S. auto industry in 2009, Jamison Luther says both ideas failed. He would like to see the candidates defend their stances on the bailout and see them "display their economic ideas, articulation, and execution on a real world event," he said.

3. what are they going to do with womens right to choose?  are they going to cut more funds to overall womens care like texas did?  they dont have to pay for abortions but they can continue giving cancer screenings and pap smears to those who cant afford.

4. are they going to war with Iran or other countries?  are we going to make more enemies than we already made

Governor Romney : speaking of poverty, you said it's immoral to have millions of people under poverty. My question is would you promise, if you become President, would you raise fededral minimum wages to $10.00 an hour on the first day by an executive order.

Jim Lehrer - Please ask this Question to Gov. Romney!!!!!

As someone in the WEALTHY/RICH/Class of the U.S., How many jobs have you PERSONNALY CREATED while enjoying the the Bush ERA tax cuts that you say if these are changed will result in JOB LOSSES.

As A second question you might ask the question "The past two Republican Administrations have created jobs by starting WARS in various parts of the world. Is this part of YOUR Plan to Create 12 million jobs in the next 4 years? If it is, I believe that the majority of the American public would tar and feather you as they ran you out of town!!!

Two Candidates:

I have chance to ask you to do me a favour,  before I come to you.I tried 7 years for justice.I tried to send my case to many Chinese Media, but they would not take any notice about it because they bureaucrats, I know you never ignore my voice. because you can help me in any kind of means. I need your help.

herebelow is the my case with Chinese Corrupted police.in the year 2006 On 14 August a robbery case happened to me in Dongguan City Guangdong Province(Suddenly the robber robbed my Dell computer which was worthy RMB 13,000 Yuan, My Digital Camera Which was Worthy RMB 2,000Yuan, My Nokia Mobile which was worthy RMB1,000 Yuan, My Passport which was worthy RMB 1,000 Yuan, And My other belongs which was worthy RMB 800 Yuan),

Dongguan City Guangdong Province China Mainland where it is one of the darkest, the most turmoil and the most corruption City in Guangdong Province. the police men did not do anything about it to catch the robber, instead the case police forced me to sign a case recording stated my assets was only worthy RMB 3,000 Yuan,(then the police was playing game over me)and the case police even did not want to tell me his Name, even I asked him in Shenhe Police station Dongguan City. I told the case police the robbery mindmaster's mobile No. even for the next few months I could still talk to the mindmaster after the robbery case happened, and for the next few years, I kept writting to Chinese top leaders, those leaders have not been helping at all.in the year 2007 when I was working in earthquake area China .I met the robber, then he became a tourleader. but even I did not trust police Still in the year 2011 In March I still told Guangdong police headquaters through their police reception station(now I remember). they were not doing any good to me,instead they were doing whatever they could do to stay away from the case. they have been kicking me to this branch or that branch and those branches kept lying to me.

today I still have the robber's telephone No13778695025.I know his Name is Guojin,it was him who robbed me, his voice, his height(1.73-1.75m) he is thin, his talking way stayed exactly the same when he robbered me.

Dear, PLS today pls do you best to deal with the chinese mainland corrupted police authority to help me ,I want the case police to compensate me., I want them to go and catch the robber. I want justice. this might give corrupted police big insult, they might come and take me away and put me into prison, but I am not afraid of this, Because I am true, and for so many years, the Police were not helping me, there were no Justice, there were no human rights, I am the one who struggled all for this. (I beg you to do something for me)

I at the moment am working in a bag making factory In Zhejiang Province,Dongyang City.

Best Regards

What is unsettling is Romney's comments on making the US energy independent. This sounds good and would no doubt creat jobs and we do have the resources, but we should all understand that we do need to pace the usage of our resources for future generations so they are not totally dependent on other nations and that is what ultimately would happen.

It seems quite apparent that Romney does NOT intend to pursue a "Green America" - unless the 'green' can be deposited in offshore bank accounts.

I yield that Romney fared better tonight than President Obama; but - like Obama 4 years ago, Romney stands no better chance of implementing his scarcely described programs, if elected.

My vote remains unchanged!

Question for Romney, I have heard everything you've had to say since day one, my question is I've only heard you say what you will do as president!  I would very much like to hear HOW you will do it, but I suspect you have no idea otherwise I would have heard it by now and wouldn't be asking this question.

To Both Candidates,

Is there a relation between population and jobs?

If so, then why only address issues relating to jobs, why not address concerns about population?

Will actions taken to reduce the number of people being born in America help reduce the need to create new jobs?

Mechanization has become a very popular trend in the business world.  With each passing year more jobs are taken away from humans and given to machines both to increase productivity and to reduce human stress.  This is a trend that will only continue to grow which means humans are gradually losing their usefulness in places of business as time goes on.  So, since machines will lower a companies need to employ people, why do we promote an increase in human population when humans are becoming increasingly obsolete?

Mr. Romney, I appreciate the windfall in your plan not to tax capital gains and interest, but is it fair to limit deductions for the little working people who do pay taxes to pay for it?   Personally, I''d rather be able to buy health insurance than pay ZERO federal income taxes, if you were to ask me.

Obama: Why is Julian Assange an enemy of the state for pointing out the illegal actions of the government?  Americans should know the truth because there is no governement without people.  Whistleblowers should not be penalized, as they currently are being.  Perhaps if the governement was truly transparent - there wouldn't be a problem to begin with?  How about: stop illegal actions instead of punishing those who report on the story?

If we should repel and replace ObamaCare.

How will the new bill be different ? Is this required mainly to remove the new medicare taxes for higher income folks or do we have fundamentally different approach on other parts of the bill ?

Both: The U.S. Government gives Billions of dollars to foreign governments and spends billion more each year on U.S. military bases(around 1,000)through out the world to protect Allies. Billions more on world humanitarian services.

Will we, the American People ever become a priority to our elected officials in Washington instead of just a passing thought. Shouldn't the U.S. governments first priority be to pay back the American Workers monies they took from Social Security and Medicare withiut our consent. These monies belonged to the American Workers who paid into these programs, not the government.

Other than the standard soundbytes of "more money" and "hire more teachers," what, specifically, would you do to enhance and improve the American education system so that we can better compete on a global stage where countries routinely spending half as much as we do per student also routinely outperform us on standard math, science, and literacy tests?

Just looking at both of them last night. 3rd debate, I got the impression that Gov.Romney is of another bygone generation, and his thinking and theatrics belong to that era too. Some years ago Tom Friedman let us all in on the idea that the world is flat, information and communication technologies at the speed of light, iPhone included make it so. Obama seems comfortable to embrace this concept much more readily than Mitt. I think the philosophical concept is called Cosmopolitanism. We want plurality to flourish in the world and 21st century wants America to value and protect (and perhaps enhance)all cultures and customs across the globe. 21st century American values want diversity, and not force cultures, especially the great civilizations in the old world, to follow American culture, rules and values. This view seems to fall flat on its face with the way Mitt and Paul and the GOP have been handling talk of global issues, especially American foreign policy. But, as a nation, American history shows that we promote diversity all over the world, and so Obama seems to be a natural as commander-in-chief. It appears to me that the torch has been passed to a new generation of worldly-wise leaders, who are comfortable in DC or in Jakarta, Hawaii or Africa. POTUS hails from that new generation. The GOP of the older generation has no choice but to change guard, prepare and field younger worldly savvy and sensitive candidates who look to the future with a shared global agenda, be it trade or climate change. POTUS did not apologize to nations on his inaugural trip. On the contrary, I think he drove home the same cosmopolitan agenda. And good to remember that he won the Nobel for it ! In case we forgot, Mitt was sitting across a Nobel Laureate last evening. Rest assured that our POTUS is a Nobel winner and a constitutional lawyer, of Harvard Law Review fame(or notoriety, as you wish), so please, please cut him some slack when events transpire that appear to go south under his watch. One other thing: Mitt seems to sway with opinions and flip flops on almost all issues, not just this once but throughout the three debates, in fact throughout the campaign(great strategy for dodging debate issues) but how would he deal with crisis after crisis that is bound to ratchet up a few notches at the White House if we have a switch of guard in these most testing, horrible, tumultuous times ?....with a badly splintered GOP to back him up ? ...that Mitt seems to have turned 180 on lately? Lot of questions about Mitt, including taxes, but maybe his work and missionary zeal in this election season is to bring GOP back to the middle, eject all those extremists, and by 2016 they will be able to field a younger, moderate candidate from the new generation of leaders, perhaps ? Maybe Paul Ryan would have gotten over Ayn Rand's puerile thoughts  and become more accurate in budget forecasting by then ? Oh, and that defense budget, I think POTUS will find a fix, once election is over, but then again he is right, the battle has moved on from ground to sea to air and is now being waged in space...satellites and drones and cyberwar….in progress, folks ! Ships simply won't cut it anymore ! And just a word about the economy..Mitt and Paul don't have clue that we are now fully plunged into a world economy with new structures emerging and that we must use all our prowess to get out of the doldrums and seize the day. Everyone including Europe and China know that US has to lead the world, and the way to do that is through stimulus. The austerity myth is done for, even the smart Queen of England shunned Cameron's myth and put up an exquisite Jubilee ! Time to act, and as Krugman and Stiglitz have attested time and again, this is not the time for austerity and political games but for substantial injection of government capital. I suspect all this will transpire once we are over this November 6th hump...not too long to wait, I suppose ?!
