The latest and greatest on CNN iReport, brought to you by Team iReport.
We're excited to introduce you to a new member of the iReport crew. Please welcome Shaniece Mason!
Shaniece has only been here for one week, but she’s already using her wit to dream up creative iReport projects. Turns out, she’s pretty funny too. We asked her to write a little bit about herself and the resulting bio was pretty epic:
Hello! I'm Shaniece and I'm very excited to be joining the iReport team this fall! I've been dreaming of working at CNN since the first time I saw Larry King's spiffy suspenders. Look Ma, I made it! Currently, I'm a senior majoring in Journalism and minoring in Theater and Sociology at Georgia State University. GSU is the best school in the country and if you say otherwise, we can have a discussion about it.
I'm a self-proclaimed news addict. If I can watch it, read it and follow it on Twitter, I'm all over it. My hobbies include posting pictures of my meals on Instagram, starring as many songs as possible on Spotify and getting addicted to television shows that get canceled after one season. I hope to bring my millennial insight and love for journalism to this amazing iReport team. I'm excited to learn all I can from this amazing opportunity and strengthen my skills as a journalist!
Please say hello to Shaniece in the comments below! We’re thrilled to have her as part of the team.
Greetings To You....Keep Them All Straight And On Course.
Vernon. ( JV Hill )
Welcome aboard, Shaniece! Wishing you all the best in your experience with the iReport community and team.
Best of luck to you!
Welcome to the family Shaniece!
Hey, welcome Shaniece! Seems we have a lot in common. I like to post pics of my meals on facebook and I am addicted to some TV shows but they haven't been canceled.. welcome to iReports...
Well hi, Shaniece, I like journalism and theatre as well and also posting reports about my Nathan's Coney Island meals. Good luck on you CNN ireport experience..
I hope you will have good time in CNN iReport. Welcome!
Hi my name is shaniel. I would like you to talk about our school. Wordswoth Academy and mascot is wildcat and its location is Rd PA, Fort Washington. i hope you choose our school for tomorrow's cnn news. 10/2/14
You sound very enthusiastic about journalism. That makes two of us!
Hello ! Very interesting suggestion I accept from you. The view of iReport team. Thanks.
Welcome Shanience. I hope the internship is going well. We look forward to your picture of you wearing Larry King's suspenders :)
Very happy to meet you, Shaniece!!!
Hi Shaniece, I once wanted to be a news reporter out in the field, getting the big stories, and meeting all kinds of people. I wish you success in this endeavor, and please stay safe.
Hi Shaniece, about the school thing, you know how southerns talk and back it up with our colleges/universities, Well I'm an ECU, Eaxt Carolina University Pirate. Sandra Bullock and Emily Proctor finished at ECU. Me and Andy Taylor went to the same high school; e.g., Mt. Airy High School. He finished in 44 I finished in 64. I met him in 1956. I've done two iReport videos; ECUPirate on Mental Illness, A Life Sentence of Ridicule, Shame and Discrimination and A Tribute to Robin Williams I took the risk of not receiving an award so I could get it on on 9/11, you'll see why. There is so much news on the violence of the mentally ill; e.g., all inclusive, I'd like for you to find a positive story on a successful regular kind of person with a mental illness even if it is anonymously. "That's all I have to say about that." Good Luck.
I wish you the best of luck young lady!
"I hope to bring my millennial insight and love for journalism to this amazing iReport team"
You managed to communicate both of these points perfectly in 10 sentences. Believe it or not, today's social media is the most complex, culturally infused, concise form of communication ever known to man. Anybody can understand Shakespeare's "To be or not to be." There is no way in H3!! that Shakespeare would have understood even the most basic "OMG, LOL" text without a massive lecture on "Culture in the 21st Century." You are clearly very intelligent (Yes, I have been able to determine that from a mere 10 sentences). I'm sure you are very grateful to CNN for hiring you and I am sure they are equally grateful for being able to hire you. Please realize that you are a participant in the most significant time in the evolution of language since the invention of language itself. We are in a time when pop icons are able to define their own words. Websters officially recognized "Truthiness" as a result of a Colbert skit. Wikipedia is the largest encyclopedia in the world, bypassing Encyclopedia Britannica which has been published since the 1700s. They were around for over 200 years and now they are essentially gone! Due to the digital age, everything you say and do will possibly be around for thousands of years if not indefinitely. People will literally know more about you and every other person on Facebook than they know about king Tut. It is easy to see "now" and think "nothing special, this is how it is, has been, and always will be". This thought train has essentially been true for every time period except for now +- 10 years. You, Shaniece, are driving an information revolution like the world has never seen. Information has the power to free entire peoples and liberate nations. Keep up the good work! :)
Hoping that you've been enjoying your ride at CNN. What a great place to be.
Such a beautiful thing Shaniece, it appears that you seem quite joyful with much confidence in who you are and what you do.
May God bless you and keep up the good work and continue to follow your dreams.
Such an inspiration! More power and Best of Luck.
Welcome. CNN is a little bit of everything.
Most of all I admire Anderson Cooper and his commitment to honesty and getting the real story.
Have fun and don't let any of the negatives let you down.
Remember, you will see god wherever you shine your light.
Good luck Young lady
pretty lady good job
Hello and Welcome! My only advise to you is, "follow the rules". And if you want to be forever good at what you do, then don't hesitate to be a forever Student. Looking forward to your credible contributions.
Go for it and never give up! Fly high, proove yourself and never take a "NO, not possible..." as an answer..... proud of you.... wishing you lots of luck....
Hi Shaniece, keep up the good work, but always, always speak your heart, your soul!
Most can speak one language if not many, but few can speak the truth. Cheers to your journey ahead as a journalist and adding to honest conversations around the globe.
Welcome to CNN iReport, Shaniece,
Thanks for your email today, about my "Solitude" photo.
Have fun....work hard. You're gonna do great.

I suppose asking you any questions is useless, but could you provide me private information on Ferguson from last night. Something is not right, and I need you're video, time stamps, and other information. I promise it will make sense.
It's not that you are useless, it's just every location where I try to communicate with someone for info is dead air. Nothing is making sense without something weird happening last night. I know what it is, but I need your data. I need questions answered, and I promise it will make sense.
Hai Shaniece, your name so niece.
hope u will be success as a journalist
All the best and happy holidays
Welcome sunny Shaniece to the most challenging and exciting human advocacy.

That would be Shaniece. :-)
