UPDATE: Carpenter One Fire Still Rages

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Jonathan Santos had seen the Mt. Charleston wildfire in Las Vegas while hiking on July Fourth, but he was surprised when he saw the blaze was still active yesterday on his way home from work. He thought it was cloudy at first, but then realized it was smoke 'blanketing the sky and the sun was burning red,' he said. Santos said the scene reminded him of a 1991 Mt. Pinatubo volcanic eruption in his native Philippines. 'It looks like a volcanic eruption, but much milder. It still gave a cloudy haze over Las Vegas.'
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

Last reported while hiking at Mt.Charleston 4th of July 2013, Carpenter One Fire still rages today 09July2013 shot with iPhone5. Unlike last time wildfire was seen up close just blazing on the other side of the mountain, this time coverage taken by the side of the road.
