Querencia at Barton Creek Names Mike Barron as New Board Member
Nate Weyand, Executive Director of Querencia, made the announcement, adding that Barron’s expertise would contribute to the organization’s solid commitment to challenge the industry standard and to raise the bar across all levels of development and operation.
“Mike brings a wealth of knowledge in finance and information technology to our board,” Weyand said. “He has a proven track record of success, and I am certain he will bring the same level of skill and commitment to our board that he has to his professional endeavors.”
Barron brings more than 40 years of varied professional financial, management and information technology experience, including serving as the Deputy State Treasurer for Texas, and the CFO of the Texas Teachers’ Retirement System. Barron currently serves as Senior Vice President and CFO for Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
Prior to joining Texas Mutual, Barron also spent 12 years in public accounting with two national CPA firms. Barron holds a BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and did his post-graduate work in finance and business management at St. Edward’s University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Certificate in Data Processing.
