Swinging outdoor bed and our personal oasis

When we first looked at our house it was the backyard that sold us. People have audibly gasped when they come over- here in the heart of Dallas, Tx we have our own personal forest with trees that are over 50 years old creating a magical canopy over our backyard.

The problem was, other then the trees and garden the yard was lacking in place to relax and entertain- both things my husband & I are fans of. :) So I came up with the idea of a swinging bed where I could lay out beneath the trees, enjoy a great book and be gently swung by the breeze. It took us several weeks to build and hang, but it was absolutely worth the wait! There are outdoor lights around it and mosquito netting to ensure it can be enjoyed around the clock!

We also carved out a spot to have an outdoor dining table which is the center of most our parties. We have outfitted it with a table we found on the side of the road, and a miscellaneous assortment of chairs that we have purchased or found.

Rounded out with candle light, friends and good wine- this is our own personal oasis to escape from the construction project that we currently live in. You can read more on my blog www.RunToRadiance.com :)
