Anti Theft Software Catches Criminal in Brazil

Using a security software called MacKeeper Brazilian police are  able to track down the criminal and return the stolen property. It all  happened on June 24th, 2013 when 21 year old Luiz Fernando Garcia de  Oliveira broke into a home and stole 2 MacBook computers, money and  other personal property. Police have not named the victim in the case to  protect the identity and ensure safety until after the trial.

The  suspect entered the home while the victim was sleeping and the  following morning police were called to the scene. Within hours the  victim was able to activate a Anti Theft software called MacKeeper that  took a picture of the person using the computer and generate an ip  location report.

Within 24 hours of activating the software Civil Police in Curitiba, Brazil arrested 21  year old Luiz Fernando Garcia de Oliveira. The investigators were  shocked by the amount of information the software was able to produce.
