Going green |
JOBS, JOBS; EVERYWHERE?
There are fewer jobs available for Americans who want to work. The following is an idea that could create jobs across America. I believe that we should consider it seriously.
The environment in America can do with an overhaul. The infrastructure is crumbling and growth is causing more problems. What if we were to embark on repair, improvement and advancement of our beautify environment?
I believe that we can fix the bridges, roads, sidewalks, utilities, sever, water works and other aspect of our communities. We can accomplish these by do two things:
1. Remove the tax on gasoline
2. Charge every vehicle at least $10 per month for usage of the highways, etc
This would be a perpectual funding rather than borrowing. Show Americans that we care about the pain at the pumps and unemployment. This tax removal could help ease the pain at the pumps.
The number of vehicles in America is staggering. $10 each per month will generate billions of dollars; trucks, buses should pay more. This revenue could be shared by cities, states and federal governments to provide the infrastructure works across this nation.
I see we can train minorities and other to acquire the skills say to repair sidewalks etc. Then with and egual opportunity we can give new folks a chance at business ownership and mobility.
In a time when jobs are closing we can create new jobs; while fixing our infrastructure and nation assets. This could be a new strategy or tactic for the next administration. We cannot stand idle; we must do better.
