    Robert Frost's Mailbox

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MarieSager snapped this photo of poet Robert Frost's mailbox while driving near the Frost House, his home and now museum in Franconia, New Hampshire. She says: 'To see this mailbox was exciting as you could only imagine all the important correspondence that passed through that little door on the mailbox. Wondering if this is where he sent his manuscripts and waited for his acceptance letters. So much activity around this little mail box. Anticipation, excitement, maybe even disappointment. But would of loved to have been there as he opened his mail.'

In the countryside of Franconia, New Hampshire sits a humble little mail box that more than likely received many pieces of mail. The mailbox belonged to the great American Poet, Robert Frost.

Worn and old, it still brings us back to a time when we depended heavily upon the USPS. Through rain and snow and hot summer days, you could always look forward to the mail coming down the dirt road.

Living in the country myself for several years, I can still remember looking seven miles down the dirt road from my living room window, waiting for the mailman to bring me a letter from Viet Nam.

Sad day for America if they stop the mail system.
