    Tractor Ride to Heaven

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Family members mourned Robert “Uncle Bob” Strauser by pulling his casket with that thing he loved the most, his tractor. His niece msiegel1016 shared this photo of the bittersweet funeral procession on Tuesday in Knox, Pennsylvania. He died July 27.

'He had been dying from heart failure and was hoping to get well enough to ride in his restored tractor. It did not happen so my aunt decided to do this for him in place of riding in a hearse. He would have loved it. This is my strange but loving family.'

She said her uncle had been working on restoring the tractor for years and finally paid to have it restored. His dream was to use it in a local tractor pull. 'In his mind, this was going to be the tractor to win all pulls. Too bad he never got to use it in a pull.'

She said her uncle worked hard, raised four daughters, and enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He spent his entire life in rural Pennsylvania. 'His perfect day included going to a tractor pull, fishing, and telling stories. No matter what you had to say he always pretended to be intently listening and made you feel that he really cared. One of the craziest memories I will have of Uncle Bob is the fact that he called my oldest daughter Paige the wrong name (Peggy) for 18 years.'
