HugeTurnout for North Carolina's Mountain Moral Monday
An estimated crowd of 10 thousand flooded downtown Asheville, NC this evening for the Mountain Moral Monday.
The Moral Monday demonstrations that began in Raleigh drew angry citizens from across the state who were upset about a wide range of legislation being passed by the NC General Assembly. Over 900 people were arrested during the Raleigh demonstrations.
Critics of the Raleigh demonstrations said that the majority of the demonstrators were from the Triangle area and was not representative of the state.
The General Assembly has recessed and The Rev. Dr. William Barber, II is bringing the demonstrations to the home districts of the legislators.
