Young Cancer Patient Scores Touchdown for Cleveland Browns
5-year-old cancer survivor Ryan Encinas stepped on onto the field in his Cleveland Browns uniform wearing #1 Saturday night to score the final touchdown in the Browns family night practice at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Young Ryan stood in the offensive huddle where quarterback Brandon Weeden called the play and told the five year old he was getting the handoff. With running back Trent Richardson as his guide Ryan ran the 40 yards to the end zone with blockers clearing his path and the referee signalling the touchdown. He was then lifted into the air by linebacker Craig Robertson to the thunderous cheers from the crowd.
This follows a similar event at the University of Nebraska where the Cornhuskers had brain cancer patient Jack Hoffman score a touchdown at their spring practice in Lincoln.
Too damn cute.
