Is it wrong to ask for money?
Well, I recently found myself on the other side, asking all of my friends, my family, and hundreds of people who I don’t even know to give me their money. Now, mind you, they would be getting something in return, but only if I fulfilled my end of the bargain and came through on my promise. So, I came to wonder recently, is my asking for money to start a business anything like the homeless man on the corner, or the radio station which I love so much?
It’s not, technically, and it makes you look at everyone asking for money in an entirely different light. Sometimes, there are those who just want to do something good, something to benefit the community and the world, and they just don’t have any other means to do it. My crowd funding campaign is a long and arduous process, and I have doubts every day if I am doing the right thing; if me asking people for money to start a business is the right thing to do. In the end, I know I am giving something in return, I know I will fulfill my promise, which also makes me think I am different than those just asking for a handout.
