100 Ways to Travel Better: Your tips
First homes, now boats: The Travel Industry takes GetMyBoat for a ride!
Similar to Uber for cars or VRBO for vacation rentals, GetMyBoat connects boat owners who want to make greater use of their asset and boat renters who don’t want to purchase and maintain a boat. With over 9,400 boats located in 60 countries, GetMyBoat provides an easy to use, safe, online marketplace to rent watercraft.
“Based on the enthusiasm of our user base, we believe GetMyBoat is destined to be the standout player in the boat rental space,” said Bryan Petro, Head of Product at GetMyBoat. “We feel our interface is elegant and easy for everyone to use, while at the same time gives boat owners the flexibility they need to list all watercraft types.” The San Francisco based company is dedicated to bringing a unique, customized boating experience to more people while creating a way for boat owners to make rental income on their unused assets.
GetMyBoat seeks to reinvent the traditional model of travel and believes that the old ways of over consumption are out and the “sharing economy” or making use of idle goods, is the sustainable future of the travel industry. Large industry players cannot accommodate the level of customer service that is needed to make a website on the peer-to-peer level work. GetMyBoat is not only aggregating a highly fragmented boating market but it is also forging the way for an entirely new concept of boat sharing. GetMyBoat owners can offer a completely custom vacation experience, at an affordable cost.
