    Elvis Week Meditation Garden Graveside

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Elvis Presley died 36 years ago Friday. Lifelong Elvis fan KCRep visited Graceland in 2006 and shared this photos. 'What I got out of this visit was something I had only dreamed about for years. Seeing the house Elvis spent most of his life in, touching the doorknob and staircase he had touched made me feel like he was there. It was just amazing and a true dream come true. Graceland is meaningful to me because it's a place where even though Elvis died there, his legacy will live forever. Just months before I visited Graceland, it was declared a national monument. Standing in the Meditation Garden looking down on the gravestone, it was so peaceful. There is nowhere but Graceland to get those feelings of Elvis at peace.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

Elvis, Vernon, and Gladys Presley are all buried at Graceland in the Meditation Garden area in the massive backyard, along with his grandmother and Elvis's twin brother Jesse Garon who died at birth.

This Friday, August 16th, 2013 will be the 36th Anniversary of the passing of the King of Rock n Roll.

Elvis Aaron Presley, he will be in my heart and the heart of the world forever.

Standing at this graveside I felt peaceful, not sad for some reason. I stood there for a long time, it was hard to leave. Somehow it seems wrong when a gift from God is taken away at 42 years old.
