Lady Thor Drops in from Asgard

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     castlecorset, attending her first Dragon Con told me, 'I like doing original "mash-up" and gender-bending cosplays since it allows you to put your own spin on the character's design. I'm going to put an effeminate twist on Thor's movie costume that makes it flattering to the female form, while still looking badass!'

2013 marks a very important year for Lauren of Castle Corsetry [www.CastleCorsetry.com]; it will be Lauren's very first Dragon*Con!

To commemorate the occasion, Lauren decided to build a truly unique cosplay -- Lady Thor. She loves the Avengers (and Chris Hemsworth) so much that she's taken on a costume unlike any other she's made before. This will be the movie version of the costume with a feminine twist, complete with armor and Mjolnir.

Since Lauren specializes in corset making, she went with a heavy duty steel boned corset in navy blue to be the base for the top. There will be a short skirt as well. In doing research on the costume, she came across the store that provided the wool for Chris Hemsworth's original cape -- and will be using it in her own design as well. Allan of Bronze armory is helping her with the armor and other metal pieces that go on top of the corset.

There aren't very many really good Thor cosplayers out there, so she's excited to reveal hers at one of the biggest costumer's conventions in the country.
