I was fishing with friends in Canada last week when this incident happened.
I was following my friend's boat when I noticed he had stopped . Behind his boat their appeared to be a hat or piece of clothing floating. As I approached the item I leaned over the gunnel to retrieve the item when my buddy next to me yelled, it's a timber wolf! The wolf was swimming between islands. These wolf sightings in the water are very rare. We snapped a quick picture and then backed off giving him plenty of room to swim to shore. He ended up swimming a total of a 1/2 mile before finally reaching shore. I'll be a little more careful in the future when snatching unidentified items out of the water.
