PD Calls In HeavyGuns Bcz Its "2 Young Black Males"
discretion is advised if you watch the video of the dashcam view of incident:
My friend & I were lost & I pulled off the HWY, turned around, stopped for 2-4 minutes on the frontage road next to the HWY that leads back to the HWY to check my GPS as law enforcement recommends, & started to leave.
That's when a dark car pulled up behind us & kept creeping slower & slower & slower until it was almost touching my bumper. I did not want to be a victim of a crime & the car was approaching us in a way that we felt like we were about to be assaulted so I drove back to the HWY I just exited & was on my way home.
As we drove back to the HWY to go home, the car started following us & we started to prepare for the worst. After about 200 feet, the car began flashing lights & it appeared to be a police vehicle.
We were very nervous because normal police don't usually act the way this vehicle was acting & we knew we didn't make any traffic violations or break any laws.
I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt & pull over.
One minute later, I had two AR15s & 6 pistols pointed at my head being told I will be shot while I was being interrogated, searched & detained.
Eventually after not finding anything illegal on me or in my car, the police made me do roadside sobriety tests. I was handcuffed while asked to balance & the police were not moving the pen for me to follow during the horizontal gaze test. While doing the breath test, I started to cough violently & coughing up flew due to a chest cold.
The police advised I could do another test at the station but wouldn't let me try the breath test again on the road.
They later deleted the video of the roadside tests.
In jail, I kept asking for a doctor because of what happened on the road but the police refused to let me see a Dr. & charged me with refusal to submit to testing.
One of the worst things about this case is that the police were rewarded for this behavior & giving "deputy of the month" awards while my life has been turned upside down while trying to prove innocence & has cost me nearly $10,000. ( I was injured as you can hear in the video, had to stop school to do phys therapy for 6 months & now that I can work, I am being denied jobs just because this case is open)
There is no evidence I ever committed any crimes & now that we have to prove innocence- it would be helpful if the police didn't destroy the evidence that proves innocence.
if you can help in any way, this case is still pending, please contact
Police later claim they pulled us over because we were "suspicious", I'm sure we all know what that means.
If law enforcement gives instructions on what to do when lost & needing to use mobile device, then turns around & starts pulling people over saying that behavior is suspicious- I feel that's entrapment.
I could've been irresponsible & checked my phone while driving, but that's not only dangerous, its illegal. Plus I would've keep driving in the wrong direction in the middle of nowhere until who knows how far the next exit is.
Police claim they stopped us because it was 'late at night' & 'recent multiple burglaries' in the area but an investigation proves there was 0 recent burglaries in the area.
The police never mention anything during the stop about any burglaries & instead you can hear them say 'they could use help arresting 2 young black males' when they first get on the radio to call in the back. I guess being black males who were going to be arrested they felt like they needed heavy fire power to assist
There was a burglary over 4.5 months prior to the stop, but the suspects wore masks & drove a dark colored van. We were in a red sedan & had on no masks
Not to mention the obvious, pulling people over & not asking them anything or doing anything to see if they were involved will never catch any burglars & had nothing to do with any burglaries.
There's also several statements by police that seem to prove they conspired together to falsify evidence & reports.
On video, several come up with the story that they all thought my car was in a ditch. But some how- all of them were confused & then later recalled they all thought we were driving on the wrong side of the HWY.
If you've ever been around little kids who come up with lies to get out of being in trouble, you can hear the way the police came up with this story & it will remind you of that.
There is several other statements that contradict what happened on the video.
In reports, they say while searching & detaining the driver, the police smelled alcohol coming from the car. Under Oath, police said it wasn't until about 10 minutes later they smelled alcohol coming from the drivers breath when he was in the back of the police car, but later under Oath the same police claims as soon as he approached the car he smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what is going on & why they deleted video of sobriety tests & why they made so many untrue statements in reports & under oath.
On the video, the officer clearly says the reason why he is 'doing what he is doing' & its nothing like what he claims in reports & under oath.
You can hear him tell other officers that the problem was, the guys were heading home to Rosemount....
You can ask Sheriff Bellows why he gave Dep Smidt the "Deputy of the Month" award for this & why the heavy fire power was needed to be used on 2 law abiding citizens.
