Creative school uniform hacks
How to Style Your Uniform!
Many students cringe at the idea of wearing a school uniform, but I have actually come to love attending a school that enforces semi-uniform! I go to a private Christian school where we have to wear a polo or oxford shirt tucked into khakis with a belt. If you think outside the box a little, it can be easy to express your style while in a school uniform.
I like to coordinate my belt and shoes, ex. black belt with black shoes, leather belt with leather shoes. It makes your outfit look more put together, when really you didn't have to do much at all. You can easily distinguish someone's style by the way they do their hair. Fun, bouncy curls will show off your girly side. A high, sleek ponytail looks edgy, a messy ponytail looks casual. Straight hair looks put together, and scrunched hair or messy waves are fun and carefree. I personally love makeup and take a lot of time to perfect it each morning. Try mixing up your everyday makeup. You don't have to swipe on some electric blue eyeliner to do so. Use deeper but still nude eyeshadows to create an earthy smokey eye, or use metallic and glittery nudes to spice it up while staying in your comfort zone. A bold lip color every once in a while won't hurt either, don't be afraid to experiment with those brighter shades!
Take advantage of what you are allowed to wear over your uniform; accessories such as cardigans, sweaters, and scarves. Any collared shirt looks adorable peeking out from underneath a sweater or cardigan on a cold day. If your school allows it, break away from everyday khaki pants and go for khaki capris, shorts, or a skirt (if they are knee-length of course).
And of course accessories are an easy way to get creative. Fun rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, you name it! I like to wear a colored watch if I am wearing a colorless outfit. I always like to have a fun backpack each year, one that I like that fits my personality. Nail polish is also one of my personal favorites, I never go without it!
