GFDN Encourages Comprehensive Career Coaching Services
A few years back the entire world was hit by the great recession, which led to traumatic unemployment that reached high levels all across the seven continents. The drastic unraveling of the global economy forced firms to rein in hiring, leaving promising young graduates worldwide to face uncertain job prospects. In America alone unemployment rates went sky high, and while recently these rates have dropped from 9.1% to 7.40%, professionals are still cautious when considering careers transitions and seeking expert coaching. An overarching objective of the career counseling initiative launched by GFDN is to help students determine a professional path that will lead to a rewarding career.
“Students need to be more aware of the range of career opportunities available in the market,” said Eva Goodwin, Student Counselor at GFDN “Where a four-year organization degree is beneficial for certain professionals, others might require a short term degree only or just a professional certification for a promising, well-paying career.”
On average, professional career coaching is far too expensive for students to afford which makes career coaching programs a valuable asset. The program introduced by GFDN offers free professional advice to students, providing them a compressive understanding of the current workforce, market trends and postsecondary opportunities, including degree and non-degree academic programs. Students are able to discover their career passion and market themselves to potential employers in a tumultuous job market.
“Too often students fail to get the advice they need to make the right career decision,” said James Young, Executive Student Director at GFDN, “Our career counseling program aims to provide students with the information they need in order to plan for various career options, based on their unique talents and interests. We are helping our students find various pathways to their field of interest absolutely free of cost.”
With their Career Counseling Program, GFDN is addressing the new industry demands by providing expert online career coaching to students around the world. “We understand that career guidance and comprehensive counseling is an integral part of the overall education system and ensure that our students become college and career ready so they can make informed choices for their future,” added Eva Goodwin.
