Everyday racism: Your stories
Coldest Night Ever
It all happened last year before Christmas. I was a second year uni student and having a blast at school. One day, My friends and I decided to join the school Ski Club for a short trip. On the lift, I accidentally dropped my phone in the snow. It was right underneath the ski lift so we went down there and tried to search for it. It was already dark at the time and the steep hill made it extra hard to stand still. I asked the people on the lift to help me locating my phone while my friend was calling it. there were a group of kids said that they saw it. But once I walked to where they pointed, they started laughing at me and then I realize they were just joking. To make things worse, right after they left, a guy on the other ski lift started spitting on me from above and yelled out 'F**k you Chinese bitch!" on the lift. It was so loud that I felt entire mountain could hear it. That moment, I felt my heart broken to pieces. I felt hurt by the racial comment he made, shocked how cold-blooded he was by bullying people who desperately needed for help and mostly, pissed by his coward behaviour. He had no guts to say it in front of me and only dare to make such comment high up in the dark!!
