    Castiella

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     AlyssaC is attending her third Dragon Con: 'I decided to do this costume because I usually cosplay male characters and I wanted to put a twist on a male character and turn them into a female version. What's special about cosplay to me is that not only is it fun, but it's also training for my career. I'm an actor and cosplaying gives me practice at staying in character, no matter what happens. What I like about putting a twist on a character is that you can take your favorite character and add your own personal style or take on that character. My costume makes the statement that it's not just guys that can kick butt; girls can too! And we can do it in heels.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

One of my favorite TV shows is Supernatural. I've always wanted to cosplay Castiel, and while I could simply pull out a wig and wear my suit pants and boy's dress shoes form my old Warblers costume, I thought it would be more fun to turn Castiel, the Angel, into Castiella, the Angel who can kick just as much butt; while wearing heels.

While this isn't one of my more complicated cosplay's in construction, it is one that I had a lot of fun with! I spent months searching for the perfect pieces, finding some at the mall and other in thrift shops, even my own closet. (And yes, I have a giant pair of black angel wings already in my closet. Go figure that the hardest thing to find would actually be the tie! ) When I finally got everything together I realized that this was going to be one of my favorite cosplay's to date!
