    It's Baaaaaack!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     alleebeth says it's edging closer to the one year anniversary since Superstorm Sandy hit the Northeast, ravaging areas like Long Beach in New York. On August 17, she spent the day photographing the positive developments in the area and focusing on how the community is working to pull itself back together. 'The businesses that have re-opened are bursting with people. It's very obvious that this community takes care of it's own. They want to rebuild and feel back to "normal,"' she said. She says there is still damage that can be seen from the storm, like houses with broken windows and tape blocking off entrance into some destitute buildings, but she says new construction can also be seen everywhere.

It will soon be the one year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy. The meanest, nastiest Hurricane in NY state's history.

This year, I have been reporting on one of my favorite beaches in NY, Long Beach in Long Island. A 40 minute drive from the island of Manhattan.

I am excited to say that after much devastation, the community of Long Beach is thriving!! Businesses are open! There are lots of happy people playing in the ocean, biking on the beautiful new boardwalk & playing frisbee, eating ice cream, smiling!!

Although there is still work to be done here in Long Beach, the upswing is full gear.

The very last shot I have uploaded is a short video. On one side you will see new life with music & food vendors. On the other, you will see some of what is still left to rebuild.

Thank you & Enjoy the rest of your Summer.
