Help Australians fight Murdoch Monopoly
Feeling powerless against Murdoch s News Limited media monopoly which is blatantly campaigning for his own vested interest in the Australian elections .I want Americans to help us sway opinion against Murdoch's 70% media domination especially during supposedly democratic elections.
Since the Industrial revolution capitalists have built the modern world and we in modern countries are all better off for them having done so. However, unbridled capitalism in the form of monopolies has been dangerous to democratic freedoms and destructive to the more equitable share of wealth.
In historic instances such monopolies have been reigned in by governments who have insisted in a fairer share and easier road for the common man.
Most notable of these were the successful anti trust fights of President Theodore Roosevelt in the early 1900's against the mammoth monopolies of Rockefeller (Standard Oil,now Exxon & ors), Carnegie and JP Morgan
Today's governments have lapsed back into an administrative sycophancy in favour of big global conglomerates against the best interest of the greatest good for the greatest number of the people they represent.
This must change and there is no better time nor reason to again make such a stand as the issue of Climate Change and Global Sustainability.
