Whether it be those who live in the areas affected by the Swedes Flat Fire or those with health problems aggravated by the smoke and ash, the rain is a wonderful sight.
While firefighters had continued to strengthen containment lines and build additional lines, shifting and erratic winds and steep and difficult terrain were causing quite a challenge. In addition, a red Flag warning had been issued for dry lightning storms that have moved into the area extending to Wednesday.
At 6:30 this morning, the fire had reached 2,139 acres and 75% contained.
Although the showers have let up for now, hopefully they have slowed the blaze somewhat—and perhaps we shall receive a bit more precipitation.
