The Lizborg was born of the unholy union between my background in Renaissance costuming and my new-found love of wearable electronics. I wanted to do a cyborg costume, and figured, hey, everyone does Steampunk these days. Instead, I went the cyber route. Every aspect of the costume has a historical basis, but with a cyber twist. For example, the standing ruff glows with fiber optics; the stomacher features a small screen running a video of morphing circuits; and the lace-trimmed gloves feature glowing wires and gleaming metal claws. I did all the sewing and wiring myself, and the whole shebang weighs 12 lbs!
