Sikh sports soccer club serving the all around the greater Toronto area also commonly known as GTA in Ontario – Canada. A project where every summer (vacation) kids of various communities take part in practice sessions (twice a week) and matches every Sunday. Parents become volunteer coaches along with other experts of this sport. Again the credit goes to all levels of government of Canada i.e. municipal, provincial & federal to make events like these take place all across Canada. This is the beauty of our great land where everyone can enjoy their culture which beautifully blends into the already rich Canadian fabric. This over two month long tournament not only attracts the youth but parents and families fully tend to get involved as well. As these are the moments our kids will cherish in days to come as in today’s day and age spending quality time for families has become an issue at times. No matter we have to keep abreast with today’s fast paced life styles, but taking time out to spend quality time with our kids and families is equally important as well. So thanks all volunteers of Sikh sports club for a job well done, and most importantly thanks Canada for letting different (minority) communities understand each other and enjoy each other’s company in harmony. As a peaceful society is always a healthy society. I myself have followed this sports club for the last three years and have volunteered as a photographer and have done some write ups for them, and have enjoyed every moment interacting. 2014 registrations are open now the number to call is 416 - 744 - 2999 or visit them at www.sikhsportsclub.com - Photo & Essay Akbar Warris 416-371-9849
