“FREEFALL” Prepares for Mainstream Debut
Sexy. Edgy. Polarizing.
The hit gay crime drama web series wraps up its first season with Red
Carpet Screening in ATL!These are just some of the words used to describe the breakout web series FREEFALL (http://www.FreefallTVSeries.com).
The crime drama series is produced by BAND of ARTISTS and chronicles
the lives of roommates Xavier, Cameron, and Nico as they navigate a
complicated living situation. For these guys, their lives are
enhanced, not defined by their sexuality. One by one the friends are
pulled into the dark side of Atlanta life and must fight to stay
afloat and keep their personal relationships from taking them under –
before the streets do.
Created by the controversial yet award-winning filmmaker Lamont Pierré
on the heels of his acclaimed indie feature film debut, FREEFALL
continues a lifelong commitment to using art to spark discussion.
“FREEFALL came on the heels of me promoting my feature film debut
TALKING WITH THE TAXMAN ABOUT POETRY which stars Vanessa Simmons and
Steph Jones,” says director Lamont Pierré. ”I wanted to do something
different. And I think our fans attached themselves to our series
because we are unapologetically different and committed to
diversifying the images of Black gay men in media.”
The series began with what is now called the Pre-Season which, after a
brief hiatus, led to a major creative revamp in the vein of HBO’s
Emmy-winning series The Wire.
“I wanted to show “regular” gay Black guys, I know that’s a loaded
term, in non-stereotypical situations,” continues Pierré. “At the same
time, I wanted to be challenged. I’m primarily a dramatic writer, but
I wanted to do something in a genre that was new to me and have
stories that touch on street life but also offer complex relationship
and identity commentary. Our show showcases learned, but somewhat
lost, characters getting, and sometimes choosing, to get caught up in
the darker side of life with interesting and sometimes deadly
consequences. These types of stories are new to this core

“Our biggest fan base is in Atlanta. We’re excited to finally be able
to present our never-before-seen Season Finale episodes while at the

overwhelming engagement with our show, have gotten us this far. We
