This salute goes out from the members of the Houston County Rescue Unit in Alabama to SFC Shawn M. Redondo and SSG Lindsey K. Redondo who were stationed at Ft. Rucker. Young, energetic, and adventurous, they could have used their free time to pursue any one of a dozen hobbies and sports. Instead, they joined the HCRU and became two of the most active members we have ever had. They participated in meetings, call-outs, and community service projects. They even got their scuba certifications so that they could train with our dive team. In a few weeks they will be on their way to another posting, this time in Alaska. We will miss them--as rescuers and as friends. We are thankful for their service to our country, and their service to our community. And we pray they come back to SE Alabama someday to stay.
