This iReport is part of an assignment:
Who taught you to love food?
Thosai – A Street Odyssey!
This humble dish that feeds millions in Asia especially the Indian continent is also enjoyed all over the world.
Some places it is also known as “Dosa”, served plain or with an egg version. This popular dish also comes in as Rava Thosai or Masala Thosai. The former uses semolina flour mixture while the later has some spicy potato filling inside. Accompanied by generous helpings of sambar and chutney, finger licking is not an option but mandatory.
In Penang a simple Thosai breakfast with coffee, will cost you less than one US dollar, that’s enough to keep you going till lunch.
