The Fort Preserve; Rendezvous Days; Fort Atkinson, Iowa
The history of the Fort and it's significance has now made it a State Preserve and attracts thousands of visitors each September from across the state for Rendezvous days a reenactment of what life was life in the 1840's bringing in a blacksmith, tomahawk throwers, cannon drills, anvil shots, melodramas, and campers setting up tepees, burning wood, making buffalo snacks, and selling colored rabbits foots make this a unique experience one would not forget.
