This iReport is part of an assignment:
Who taught you to love food?
Paratha - Heavenly Bread!
Paratha or Roti Canai as it’s known here in Malaysia is a dish brought here from India. These are flour based dough flipped till it spreads out thin and folded into a round shaped bread and cooked over a flat grill. The flipping process itself is a sight to watch.
Popular in Asia and found wherever there are any Muslim communities. Served with a lentil gravy known as dalca or with any meat based curries, the taste is beyond words. Two pieces of Paratha’s and coffee will set you back by about one US dollar. And the possibility of skipping lunch.
