Helping a Coca Cola Addict
Coke. A complex liquid. A substance who's ingredients are so complicated, and they make you lured to a "red can", someone who doesn't like coke would say, but a can of coke is so much more than that to an addict. It is like an angel telling the addict something. A mission. This is for the friends and families who have an addict getting out of control.
Prevent the sight of coke. Remove all from household. Check all rooms. The coke addict can be very sneaky and clever, so find any secret stash.
Call off allowances or giving of money (for friends) so the coke addict does not have any possible way of getting money. If you are going to give him/her money, make sure it goes to where it needs to be. If it is a form for a trip or something in that case, say that you will handle it yourself. Don't let them have a chance to take the money, so make sure it is in your hands. If you are a friend of an addict, and they have to go to the supermarket, walk with them, and monitor them. Keep your eyes on them, and don't get distracted!
Try to get coke of their minds for a bit. Make them have more important issues than the fact that they don't have coke anymore.
Mention all the bad things that can happen to the addict in the future if they kept on doing it. A 12 oz. can of coke has somewhat 8 teaspoons of sugar, so get a teaspoon, pour out 8 teaspoons sugar, and show them how much sugar they drink in one can. It is amazing how much sugar there is.
Replace coke with a more healthier drink, so that the addict won't be so addicted anymore!
Prevent family or friends with drinking coke, so that they won't be in a similar background when they had coke.
Make a club or make the addict be friends with people going through the same issue, but it got resolved by someone's help, and people share stories so that they don't feel alone and that they used to think that they were lunatics.
