PANAGIOTIS KAROUSOS TRIUMPHED AT THE EPIDAURUS AND MESSENE ANCIENT GREEK THEATERS
Tuesday July 30th, 2013. Greek Canadian composer Panagiotis Karousos despite all economical and social Greek crisis succeeds to innovates the cultural life and profile of his natal country with his music.
For the first time in history presented an opera at the Ancient Theaters of Epidaurus and Messene by a Greek origin composer.
The presentation in Epidaurus Ancient Theater of the opera "Prometheus Bound" by Panagiotis Karousos was fabulous, inspired by his ancestors where performed there. At the archaeological site of Ancient Messene the Prometheus presentation was also a mythical moment, applauded cheerily by the crowd and crowned with a great success.
In the leading role of Prometheus starred bass Vasilis Asimakopoulos and also directed these monumental performances.
In Ancient Messene or Ancient Ithomi where called the place the opera "Prometheus Bound" by P. Karoussos, presented as a symbol of resistance.
The City of Messina collaborated with the Hellenic American Center of the Arts, the Greek Canadian composer Panagiotis Karousos among with the Archaeological Department of Greece worked all together for this stunning show.
