Their Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia were received upon arrival by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who both represented Their Majesties the King and Queen.
Lining up to welcome the royal Malaysian couple were also Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, members of the Cabinet, commanders in chief of the three armed forces and the police, the Thai ambassador to Malaysia and several high-ranking officials of the Thai government.
This is the second visit to Thailand of His Majesty Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah ibini Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.
The Malaysian king paid his first State Visit to Thailand from 1-8 February 1973 during His Accession to the Throne as the 5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.
The current visit to Thailand of the Malaysian king will strengthen bilateral relations and investment prospects beneficial to both countries’ preparations for the realization of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.
