This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel photo of the day
We have been able to visit around a dozen national parks, battlefields and forests in the last couple of years. A huge goal of mine was to travel out to Yosemite and take as many pictures as humanly possible! This past spring I was finally able to fulfill that dream.
Everywhere we went in Yosemite was magical. From the valley, to the numerous falls to the high Sierra area. The park was massive, almost scary big, but it also felt very cozy and intimate.
This capture is from the slightly less crowded area on the park loop road known as valley view. Yosemite was an amazing adventure. I shot thousands of photos in every possible location and light situation I could cram into our 10 day trip.
Yosemite was definitely worth the wait to finally get to, and now I can't wait to get back. I'm very glad to hear that the massive forest fire is finally under control, and our prayers go out to the firefighters trying to contain this force of nature.
