At around 10:00am this morning, an elderly lady driving her car Northbound on Parks Road struck a telephone pole with her car. A live power line fell onto her car, however she managed to get out without being electrocuted. Police were quickly on the scene and have secured the site until NJ Power & Light can assess the situation and determine the best action to take. Live power lines are currently on the ground. Residents are being asked to stay away from those live wires until NJP&L can deal with them.
She was taken to the hospital for observation.
The following photographs show how serious this could have been, and thankfully, no one was hurt. Parks Road in Denville, NJ is currently blocked off and no traffic is allowed through.
