Gen Y Won't Settle for the Cubicle: They Make the World Their Destination
As ambitious young adults finding time to pursue a dream between a first career, college degrees and increasing pressure from our fast paced society many young professionals are left unfulfilled. Millennials are not just seeking a resort holiday anymore but a valuable experience abroad with fellow travel enthusiasts.
Traveling abroad himself for seven months working from a laptop and exploring the world from Iceland to Costa Rica, to Indonesia and everywhere in between, Adventurer in Residence and Co-founder of Under30Experiences Matt Wilson is now inspiring young professionals to do the same.
His goal is to give young people the opportunity to see the world as part of their personal and professional growth. “If our generation wants to take over the globe, they better take the time to understand it first.”
He continues, “To accomplish this goal, we want to make traveling abroad as accessible as possible for young people. Under30Experiences offers young thrill seekers Wednesday through Sunday trips for those who can’t take much time off work or school, while offering creative payment options making travel as simple as possible.”
When asked why someone would want to join Under30Experiences Matt stated, “Our travel experiences are mindful; more than just an expensive party abroad. The trips are all about what attendees put into it. It’s the perfect mix of rest, relaxation, adventure, and cultural experience. It’s not like school—you learn from the experience of traveling. All the day trips are optional, and everyone is free to do what they’d like. Take a surf lesson and hang on the beach, or go into the villages and play soccer or teach English to the school kids.”
“We carefully curate experiences and pick out the best possible itineraries, so young people maximize their trip, and don’t have to worry about any planning or logistics in the country. We do awesome things like expose people to microfinance in Nicaragua and explore sustainability and personal wellness in Costa Rica, in addition to amazing activities like zip-lining through the jungle, surfing, yoga, and seeing hot springs and volcanoes.”
“It’s the journey not the destination that matters.” Ready to make the world part of your journey? Join Matt and his colleagues alongside other amazing individuals from across the world this winter in Costa Rica or Nicaragua for an adventure of a lifetime.
